I've had the same haircut all my life, just long layers and that's it. Decided to do a chop and get a scene inspired haircut! Brandy did an AMAZING job, I am loving my new style! Thank you!

Brandy is absolutely the best in the game! I have curly hair that was on life support and needed an intervention, and she gave me everything I was hoping for and more. She asked all the questions to get an idea of what I wanted and took my lifestyle into consideration (I am outside all day and can't have my hair in my face but didn't want to put it up all the time) to make sure I got a haircut that I'd be able to easily maintain day to day. She genuinely brought my hair back from the dead. I wish I could give more than five stars

I went to Brandy for my hair pre-pandemic when she was still at Atomic. I went back to her just last week and it was honestly so nice to be back in familiar hands. Brandy is an excellent stylist, but not uptight. She is warm and welcoming. Happy for her that she has her own studio now and obviously will continue to see her.

It's been a couple weeks since I've gotten my hair cut but it seems like every day I get compliments on this cut! I came in when it was a bad storm and the power went out, and I still felt at home here with the ladies AND she never stopped doing my hair. Thank you so much, this is the best experience I've had and the best haircut I've ever had. How do I rate it 10 stars? lol

Cut my bangs too short in the middle and I could honestly cry at how bad they look. I showed a picture of myself the way I like them done and she botched it. Girl also talked to the other hairdresser the whole time and barely spoke to me. She also moved my appointment time 30 minutes before I was supposed to be there. Super disappointed.

Allie is THE BEST! I followed her from Atomic Salon to Bird’s Nest and she always gives me the perfect haircut that leaves me feeling confident and happy. My friends and I all see her and are always happy with our haircuts. The location is great and street parking is really easy! The salon itself is such a cool spot and has great vibes. Definitely recommend!!

I am so excited about this downtown salon!! Have been a client of Brandy Derr for almost 20 years, and I will travel from wherever I live to have her cut my hair until eternity. I'll follow Brandy anywhere! I've been her client since 2010 (following her to any salon she is at) and I've always had full trust in what she does for me. Brandy helps bring my vision to life even when I'm not exactly sure what I want until I talk it out with her. She's so skilled at what she does! I have 2 cowlicks and she has learned how to cut in such a way that they aren't highlighted. My hair grows out so well from her cuts because of how expertly precise she is when she's shaping the cut. She's helped reign me in when I've wanted to shave my head completely, but then years later when I did exactly that for a Halloween costume, she was so encouraging and helped shape it once it started to grow out a bit. It's also such a delight to be in her chair, she is so personable and I hate when our appointments end. She's taken me from angled bob to a variety of really short cuts (once a big transition from very long hair to short angled pixie cut). I typically just see her for short haircuts, but have had her do some color a couple of times and loved the results (though I now don't dye my hair now at all). The space at The Bird's Nest is super cute: it has excellent natural lighting and fun/quirky decor. There's one dedicated spot out front, so if that's full you can easily park on Franklin Street 2-hour parking and walk a minute to the salon. I've been going to Brandy for years and have always had a great experience! She is hilarious, and also very professional. She always listens to what I'd like done an I've never regretted having her cut my hair. I get a pretty basic "white-millennial-Kate-Middleton-haircut" and she knocks it out of the park every time! 10/10!

My daughter and I both go to Brandy! She is awesome. My teen daughter gets so many compliments on her hair. Brandy really connects with her to make sure she gets exactly what she wants. I have curly hair and Brandy does a great job with it too. I cannot recommend her enough!

The Birds Nest Beauty Parlor is the most warm, inviting and fun hair salon I have ever been to!!. Brandy is not only an amazing human, but an INCREDIBLE stylist! She listens to what you want and will help guide you if needed. She is truly a master at her craft, and I am grateful for the repairs she has made to my hair after years of damage! My hair looks so much healthier! I joke that she can never retire because I will never see another stylist other than Brandy!

Very occasionally (every few years), I feel like trying to find someone who'd comprehend my hair's mix of fuzzy, kinky, and stubborn without changing its nature or requiring me to rearrange my life to fit the new hairdo. Success! Brandy accommodated all my wishes, and I ended up with a much neater (and cuter, to me) version that is still mine. Plus, she quickly taught me a routine I can follow without five additional years of training. Such attentive work requires much more experience and thought than just a haircut that visually fits someone's face. Kudos!

Very rude people when they are under stress. I made an appointment with Taylor who texted me an hour before my appointment to tell me that she was sick and unable to do my hair. This is two days before Christmas and has been scheduled for over three weeks. She did not have the courtesy of calling - she texted and when I reached out to the salon to see if some one else was available to do my hair since I do not have fault in her being sick so they should recommend alternatives they called me rude and said I was yelling at them. Mind you, I did not yell, I asked for a solution to which it was "yeah she's sick what do you want me to do about it." As some one who works in customer service and NEVER writes a review - this was one of the most mind blowing terrible experiences I have ever encountered. I would absolutely not trust or recommended them to anyone due to the lack of care they have. I'm sure they are good at their jobs but to completely brush some one to the side I would imagine is something they would do again should a stressful situation arise. Add in the accusatory way they acted as if I was yelling when truly I just asked 1) what the heck happened and 2) if they could work around some how fitting me in with some one else (which I even offered to work around whatever schedule they needed to make myself available for it to happen). Will never get over the lack of true care - and from hairdressers who are usually some of the most caring and kind people I encounter!

What. A. Dream. I had my hair cut by Allie today and she did an incredible job. She asked questions about my hair and preferences and made sure I got the haircut I wanted - and it was even better than I imagined. I love this salon and the vibe and everything about it. If you're anywhere remotely close, this is the place to go! (And I have crazy curly hair, so it's especially tricky to find good haircuts!)
