Absolutely AMAZING experience! The spa facility was so relaxing, friendly, and clean. I got the ginger root detox wrap with Todd and it was AMAZING! I would definitely go back to try a signature massage, the hot stone massage and facials based on what my group of girls said and other ladies I’ve met. If you’re booking a girls getaway in San Diego, this is the perfect spa to book! And if someone in your group needs an affordable service, their nail service starts at $50 (but everyone in my group said it wasn’t that great… forewarning you all… one even cancelled hers and just paid the $50 plus tip to get out of it). I’m sure all of the other services were as wonderful as the service I received though.

Excellent and super friendly service! One of the best massages I’ve ever had. Good amount of pressure and adjusted for more when needed. The whole place is great from the koi ponds to talking parrots. If you book any service you get access to the hotel pool and hot tub as well as the more private jacuzzi that is just for spa guests. Robes and plenty of towels are available. Hair products, shower caps, clean hairbrushes and styling tools are provided. Showers are amazing - it’s like getting a hot sparkling water shower. Steam room has eucalyptus spray. They’ve thought of everything!

I had an amazing experience with Shanna at the Catamaran Spa. Her deep tissue massage truly worked wonders on the tension I've been carrying. Not only did she provide a skilled massage, but she also gave me helpful stretches and a book recommendation to work on the tightness at home. Shanna's expertise and thoughtful suggestions made my visit outstanding. She's not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable in her craft. Definitely a 5-star experience!

My friend and I went here for my 40th birthday to splurge on ourselves for a change. What a fantastic experience! From the booking process through to the end, the service was so friendly and excellent, and all the staff really set you at ease. I usually don't see males for massages but the ones here (I'm so sorry I'm really bad with names) went out of his way to put you at ease with explaining the process and draping correctly, plus he had really soft hands! My friend and I both said it was the best pedicure we've ever had. The salon looks out over a zen garden and Phuong is such a perfectionist about your nails! It was also my first facial and the esthetician put me at ease and I didn't feel judged about my skin at all. The grounds were lovely, looking out onto a nice beach with a snack stand and kayak rentals, with a restaurant attached that was so yummy (try the Panna Cotta!) And there was an Indian wedding going on out on the grassy area. It was so colorful and joyful, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and wish the couple well! The Jacuzzi did not feel overly chlorinated which was great for my sensitive skin. My friend and I are also so sensitive to synthetic fragrance and you will not find any here! Just amazing smelling essential oils. And they all ask if you are allergic to anything first! And they don't pressure you into buying products! They are awesome about parking too. We had several services and were on the grounds for more than the 6 hours of validated parking and they took care of it for us. Even the prices were not as ridiculous as some other resorts in the area. All the other guests were pretty chill and friendly, taking photos for each other and chatting about birthdays. Honestly 6/5 stars, can't wait to come back.

Amazing service overall. We got a prenatal massage and facial and nails done and their service was great. Receptionist wasn't very inviting but everyone else was amazing and friendly. Biggest issue would have been no toilet seat covers. Overall great experience.

GREAT service! Chuck at the valet stand was SUPER FRIENDLY and helpful! The grounds are beautiful. Perfectly situated on Mission Bay with a 2-min walk to the Pacific and its long stretch of beach.

Lovely spa. Very relaxing and excellent amenities. Also, they were very flexible with scheduling. My esthetician was very talkative, which made me more anxious and less relaxed, but she meant well.

My husband and I got married at the Catamaran a few months ago. We are not from CA and Cathy, the catering manager, made wedding planning in a different state so easy. We went to the Catamaran once before our wedding and the day turned out absolutely perfect. Having a beach wedding was my dream and everything turned out better than I even expected. The food and service our whole wedding day was exceptional! All of our guest commented on how good the food was. It was such a perfect day and I cannot wait to go back soon. Thank you Cathy for all of your help on our big day!

NEW REVIEW: 2ND VISIT after the incredible initial experience we decided to come back. Unfortunantly this time it was a polar opposite experience. Sadly Jen the amazing staff member had quit. The girl at the front desk Hannah was not pleasant. The massage itself (didn't catch the name) was blah and not very good, nice person, not a good massage though. I went back to the front to book a couples massage on a monthly basis and long short after Hannah denied my girlfriend from joining for a poolside seat and was difficult to talk to we decided not to come back again and would advise that both customers and management pay close attention to the staff hired. This ruined my experience. My girlfriend had surprised me with a relaxing day instead she overspend. I got a lousy massage bad front facing staff and a bad experience. Really had looked forward to making this the go to escape once a month but it is now a never again. Entirely all about people. I run a business and it's the same thing, everyone knows the services but the expectation is exceeding by the quality of the staff... or derailed. In this case the latter. Contact me to fix this or we will continue to advise people that sadly the catamarant has gone downhill badly and recommend they go elsewhere. ORIGINAL REVIEW: 5 STARS Jen was the best massage therapist that ever existed. Well worth the cost. In addition the jacuzzi spa by the beach and water paired with the professionalism and zen waiting area means we will be back many more tines

I visited the Catamaran Spa a bit over a month ago and I am still enjoying the benefits from my massage with Shawna. I got the basic massage. Shawna was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She was thorough in asking questions about my symptoms, my problem areas and the type of massage experience I was seeking. I shared I had been feeling tightness in the hips and hamstrings, something that has been a chronic discomfort since my childhood. She explained a bit of the anatomy and how some muscles work together. The massage was so beneficial and I enjoyed my experience. That day I felt I walked away with a great massage and new knowledge on how to care for my body. I have not experienced hip discomfort since. My hamstring still needs work but nothing compared to how it felt prior to my massage with Shawna. Thanks so much Shawna! The Catamaran spa facilities were very clean, the front desk staff was friendly and the private beach CANNOT be beat. I lounged at the pool but wasn’t tempted to get in. The “spa” pool is shared with other hotel guests so it wasn’t a relaxing experience but good enough to chat with friends while you wait for your appointment.

Such a great spa. The services I think are overpriced but you get the premises the whole day. I like the make it an entire day of relaxation with a beach/bay walk, jacuzzi, sauna, get my treatment, get lunch, hang out and then shower before I leave. I havent found a better spa in San Diego yet.
