The salon is cozy, classy and elegant. I entered to soft music and a wonderful aroma. My stylist was ready for me upon arrival and was pleasant, informative and professional. She checked in with me throughout the service to see was I comfortable and was everything ok. My hair looks amazing! And feels wonderful! I will be back! And I recommend you come as well. A truly professional salon and Black Excellence!

Maria and Tasha TT do THE best human hair boho/pick & drop/zoe kravitz/ryan destiny style braids in NYC!!!!! They came highly recommended by incredibly chic friends of mine and my braids have never looked better. They look like a weave because they’re so full - I get compliments everyday. It’s a painless install, the salon is clean, and everyone has the best vibes!! Maria is also so knowledgeable about your hair and gives tips on how to best take care based on dryness, porosity etc, she and TT are the dynamic duo i have needed all my life!!!

On May 23rd 2024, I sent my 14 yrs old son to The Chair for twist braids and Tasha TT took incredible care of my him. He raved about the way Tasha washed his hair multiple times to make sure his scalp was properly cleaned. Tasha was gentle and kind. She took her time, and his hair came out fyah!!! Today was our first time but definitely not our last session. Thank you Tasha TT for taking care of Caleb!!!!!

I had an amazing first experience at the The Chair. My stylist was Monique was very welcoming-I booked for XL-Knotless ombré braids. Once I was in the chair I felt comfortable. Monique made sure that I was pleased with the length before proceeding with the hairstyle which I loved! From there Monique began braiding which was painless and fast. My braids are neat and lightweight! For years of getting my hair braided, I finally sat in the right chair. I am completely satisfied with my braids.

Very upset!!!! I had an appointment on April 16@ 10am waited for 14 minutes for the place to open and the nice young lady name Tasha was very pleasant. Tasha asked if I had an appointment and I said yea with Monique she told me that she would call Monique for me because she wasn’t in. I spoke with Monique on the phone and she’s questioning me about my appointment that she clearly forgot that I made with her and asking who did I speak with to make the appointment and I told her that it was her. She said she wouldn’t have told me to come on this day and also she didn’t have anything on her book. I told her well she did and I’m not from here and I wouldn’t just pop up. I don’t know anything about New York. I showed Tasha my phone and showed her the date and time I called and spoke with Monique. No one could help me after that. Monique wasted my time and was unapologetic…Very unprofessional
