This review is long overdue. I have been getting my hair colored and cut by Aisha for the past 2 years and I absolutely love it. As a curly hair girl it’s hard to find a hair stylist that understands curls. I always get compliments on my hair. Aisha is awesome and I highly recommend!

I'm was very pleased with the job Aisha did with my hair. I chose her salon based on the fact that she (and others there) work with wavy/curly hair . I wasn't sure if I actually had wavy/curly hair or if I was just forcing it 🤔. I do, which I am excited about (I say that now...lol). Aisha went over everything she was doing every step of the way, from the way it curled, to things (products/tools) to use in trying to get the best out of my hair. She listened to what I was wanting, explained why this or that would or may not work. Never once did I feel like she was rushing me through. The price was a lot for me, considering where I'm from BUT I was expecting it, 1 for the location and 2nd for the time that she took. Didn't get a picture of day of service, wish I had of. 🤦‍♀️ And picture attached is not the greatest and I'm still learning and I didn't really take my time.

I love going to Aisha to get my hair cut. She's been my stylist for well over 5 years, and I feel great each time I leave her salon. The salon is super comfortable and clean. Aisha is so friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Throughout the years, she has given me great suggestions on how to care for my specific hair type. If your are looking for a new hair stylist in SD, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Best experience I could ever ask for from a salon! Wesley was my stylist and he took me at 7pm! I had to get my hair done before a trip to Vegas. I originally asked for a root touch up and trim on the phone. When I arrived he provided a thorough consultation to understand the goals I truly had for my hair and we accomplished so much more! I say we because he was extremely inclusive throughout the ENTIRE process. He was very knowledgeable with my hair texture and is THE FIRST to suggest a bleaching service (foils) to add some dimension to get the end result I truly wanted. ABOVE AND BEYOND on making me feel comfortable in his chair. I highly encourage ladies with textured hair that are skeptical of getting your hair colored outside of your community to go to Wesley. He is a HIDDEN GEM💎 He also got my hair done in record time from any salon I've ever been to for JUST a cut. Best Salon experience I have ever had

Stephanie Garcia is a wonderful hairstylist. I've been coming to her for several years. She is very responsive to my concerns, particularly when I want to tweak the color or cut a bit from time to time. In my most recent visit, that's exactly what I wanted. The color she selected is a great match to my skin tone.

Highly recommend the color collective!! I was in town for a couple of days and I called to see if there were openings and the Aisha was so kind to get connected to the girls for availability. Thankfully Stephanie was able to see me and she was such a delight!!! I loved my cut, I love the atmosphere, and it was so easy to find. There’s a parking lot right in front so I had no issues there. The inclusive and diverse space gave an extra layer of comfort that I didn’t realize I needed. I highly recommend!!

I came in last month to do a color correction and dye my hair back to Teal. I've been dying my own hair since I was a teenager and have never been to a salon for color. Now my hair had been damaged previously by myself. My review is not so much based around the quality of the service. However, I would like to note that I honestly could have done my own hair at home and wish that I had. I had Jamie and she did do a great job, even though there are patches of green showing where the dye didn't take as well. And some blonde batches on the front roots. I'm overall more disappointed in the miscommunication in pricing. I really tried my best to get a quote for the service but continued to be told it would be $110 per hour. She told me to prepare for 3-5 hours. Then after the strand test, told me that it could take another hour. I honestly believed that I would pay $500 max. I had told her that was my limit in the consultation. Also, the website that you set your appointment on said $110 for the color correction service. It said nothing about per hour. I had also made the mistake of telling her that this was my first time getting color done in a salon. I have short hair too, at its longest, it reaches my chin. Yes it is thick, but short non-the-less. I spent $900 dollars to get a color that I could have done at home for $60. This was my rent money and I have been behind on rent ever since. My appointment was at 2:30 and I was at the salon till 11pm. I highly recommend that if you go to Jamie, make sure that you openly discuss pricing with her. I'm extremely disappointed in my first salon experience.

I had the absolute BEST experience getting my hair done by Sarah. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and efficient. I really appreciate the effort she put in to understanding not only what I desired stylistically, but also understanding how I styled my hair, maintained my hair, etc. to make sure that the cut/color aligned with my lifestyle as a whole. We went for a more “lived-in” balayage-type look for easy maintenance and I am obsessed with how well she did it. 1000% recommend getting your hair done by Sarah!

I’m visiting San Diego and It was so easy to make an appointment with the color collective. Everyone was so nice and fun. Jamie did my hair and I am very happy with her work! She is very sweet and professional. I highly recommend this salon!

Amazing salon! Everyone there is very warm and welcoming. It's a decent size space with a tranquil area for hair washing. I have been with my stylist Katherine for years and I'm very happy with all of the wonderful work she has put into my hair. I get nothing but compliments after visiting her.

I had a wonderful experience with Jamie. Immediately upon meeting her, I felt like I was in good hands. She really understood my needs and delivered beyond my expectations! I love my hair color and the face frame cut that she suggested. As for the salon itself, it is a very welcoming place. Free drinks are available to guests. I have been going to Katherine Linares for years and I have loved my experience. I get compliments on my hair all the time. She has taken me all the way from super blonde to light brown and always nails it. She is also super fun to talk to which is important when you are sitting in someone’s chair for so long! 10/10 recommend.

I have been seeing Lesleigh for a handful of years, at 3 different salons. The Color Collective Salon is by far my favorite!!!🙌 Not only is Lesleigh amazing🥰, the salon is always fresh with style, people, and refreshments to please!!🍺🥤☕ I have strolled on in with tons of ideas and she is down for whatever whenever(a crazy new fohawk, Madonna's "Papa don't Preach" hairdo, or give me some extra bleach pleeeease!! to name a few 😄)! She is DEFINITELY an artist! I am so thankful to be able to come in with any line and she listens, applys input, and executes the task impeccably! Love ya lady! 💜

I have finally found a place and a stylist I can go to on a regular basis!! Katherine Schue Linares is not only professional, experienced and understanding in what your needs are, she’s also just great to hang out with! The salon is well kept, they not only take care of their customers (offering wine, tea, comfortable waiting area, greeted right away), they also take care of their stylist who work there. I love this salon and Katherine, thanks for taking such great care of me!!

I moved to the Color Collective with Lesleigh who has done my hair for years. The salon is conveniently located Balboa Park, Hillcrest and North park. Parking is hassle-free in a small lot right in front. The salon is clean and relaxing-and gives a sense of calm efficiency. Lesleigh is patient and kind, listens to my concerns and offers suggestions. She has been an expert at coloring my hair so that it looks natural and her scalp massage with shampoo is amazing. I highly recommend her, as I have seen her work on all different styles and it always looks great.

I was looking for an expert in color who could get my dark hair to show bright color without bleaching it to death. Aisha has gone way above and beyond my expectations! She custom mixes colors so it’s always unique, and takes the time to get to know you so she can recommend styles, colors, etc. Its really rare to find a colorist who can color hair without damage, and it proves Aisha’s technique is top notch. She’s also just a really cool person to talk to - she’s witty, trustworthy, and you can tell this salon is her passion. I will never go to anyone else (willingly) now that I found her. The salon itself is very cute and welcoming, easy parking, offer a rewards program, has the most relaxing shampoo room, offer snacks and drinks, woman/SD local owned - I can’t think of anything else I would want in a salon.

Jamie H. did my hair and as usual, it was the perfect experience! She is so sweet, professional and good at what she does! I told her what I was thinking and she gave me what I wanted and more. The salon itself is adorable, very clean and relaxing. There is lots of parking too! I highly recommend coming here, you won't be sorry. The prices are good as well, not crazy expensive.

The salon is in such a great area with plenty of parking. Such a cute and clean suite. Loved the atmosphere. Katherine knew exactly what I wanted and needed as far as my haircut. Left feeling so beautiful!! Overall experience was amazing ❤️
