The overall experience wae decent. I really wanted to love it but just didnt. I left disappointed in the length of my hair and cut. Not sure if its really on the stylist due to natural shrinkage with curly hair just didnt feel confident when i left the salon.

Keyona was amazing! I’ve been growing out my hair for years and this was my first time getting a true cut and style. (My sisters are both incredibly envious of my curls, but still encouraged me to try a salon treatment to enhance them.) Keyona immediately knew how to give it the best layering cut and gave me some great tips and advice for how to maintain it at home. I opted to purchase the mousse she used, but that was completely my own decision and I never felt pressured or upsold by anyone in the salon to purchase products. I will be back!!

Have tried to purchase the curl cream product and it is sold out. Contacted the company three days ago and have not heard back. The product has been sold out and thus I could not take advantage of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale and when I reached out to the company about getting the product they did not respond.

A bit iffy with this salon, staff was super nice and professional, however they do not know how to deal with kinky hair. They struggle with my hair and gave me awkward layers and bangs that was struggling to touch my eye brows... The whole process felt rushed and they drown my hair in gel to tame my curls. I left the salon with crunchy curls that was flaking so much I had to wash my hair when I got home.

This is the first salon I’ve been to where I know every time I leave I’ll love my hair and be able to wear it down for days. I’ve been going to Belinda since I moved to the city over a year ago and she also gets my curls right and is just a joy to be around. Would recommend The Curl Suite to any curly girls who want a great cut and great styling in NYC!

I love coming in to the salon. She and Belinda have created a warm, enjoyable space for their curly-haired clients, so I've been coming back for years. Alex has colored my hair whatever color I've wanted! And I love her products and recommend them to friends/family.

If I can give this salon zero stars I would. While booking I was very excited and eager to attend the appointment. Upon arriving, I was met with an unfriendly energy from Lexi. While sitting down I made it clear to let her know that I have a hair piece installed to cover a spot I have due to trichotillomania. Right away she states that the stylist do not work on hair pieces as they don’t want to be responsible for any mishaps (which is understandable) but this information was not stated on the website or while completing my booking. After she begin to criticize the piece saying that it does not match my pattern nor my natural hair color. I don’t mind critiques especially from someone that is specialized in hair but it was the manner that she told me this that made me feel defeated. At that point I was ready to leave which I did when the owner confirmed that she is not allowed to cut hair pieces. This is the first and very last time I will ever try to book an appointment at this salon. Do not book with Lexi unless you want to be met with an uninviting and rude energy.

Lexi always gives me the best haircut. She cuts and styles my curly hair perfectly. I’ve gone to a lot of “curly hair” stylists and of all of them, Lexi is my favorite. She’s also very good at explaining how to style your hair on your own. The NYC salon is conveniently located - 1 block from the F train or from the 1 train. Depending on what time your appointment is, you can sometimes find a parking spot west of 7th Avenue.

Lexi was amazing! She asked me what I wanted, what’s my regular routine and explained everything to me. She told me which products she was using. She was patient and friendly. My curls are so moisturized and smell amazing! I will definitely be coming back.

I love these products. I purchased the shampoo and conditioner for wavy hair. This products works amazing on my hair whether I decide to love my curls or blow dry straight. My hair feels soft & healthy.

My cut was done by Lexi. I knew off the bat when my hair wasnt cut dry it was going to be off. But I was having faithful that her experience and education maybe knew something new that I did not. The back was longer than the side. The curl definition was good but that was because of the products uses not the technigue of the cut. I wound up cutting the back to level off with sides myself because I paid so much money $110. I AM ON A DISABILITY income / single mama and hadn't cut my hair in years. I was looking foward to getting a cut by a CURL SPECIALIST which os what Curl Suite claims to be. So this reviewing is more product orientated on the satisfaction of the products used than stylist skill level.

Quite possibly the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten, from Lexi. My curl pattern is completely disrupted and no longer exists; my hair is now wavy rather than spiral curled as it normally was, and the layering is so poorly done. My hair is simply impossible to style now and I have no choice but to live with it for a few months until it grows out and find a different stylist. I’m truly upset. Not all curly hair is alike and what works on one type doesn’t work on another. Lexi doesn’t seem to understand how important it is to try to tailor a cut and style to the individual.

I have been going to Alex for haircuts for nearly 15 years and I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. She is a magician with curls and transformed the way my hair looks and feels. I have never not gotten compliments from strangers on the street after leaving her salon. Take that in - she’s so good at what she does that strangers in NYC stop, notice, and compliment.

A wonderful experience for a very nervous curly-haired Australian searching for a new hairdresser in NYC. The salon is tiny but has everything needed for a great cut and the hairdresser knew exactly what to do with my curls.

I was 10 minutes late to my 30-minute hair appointment, which only gave Belinda 20 minutes to shampoo wash, cut, and style my hair. Not sure because it was a rushed job, but my hair is visibly uneven when I split it down the middle. I had a better experience the first time around, but I would recommend for you to cancel and reschedule your appointment if you’re running late because if not then you won’t get the proper time and attention to your hair service.

I've been going to The Curl Suite since 2019 and haven't had a bad experience yet. Belinda knows exactly how to freshen up my curls, and is a kind and fun person to be around. Alex runs a great business! I'll continue traveling from NJ to get my hair cut here.

This is the only salon I trust to cut my hair! My first haircut with Belinda - which included giving me BANGS, mind you - was the first time I had ever been happy with a curly haircut. She knows how to handle my hair better than I do 👏🏻👏🏻. Prices are great, and I've been using the salon's product line for over a year. Curly folks, this is your PLACE.

We Flew in from Florida just to treat my daughter to a birthday haircut from Alex and to consult with her about my daughter’s curly hair routine. My daughter has been pleading with me to straighten her hair, but I really want her to understand and appreciate her curly tresses before she goes that route. Alex was so kind, and such a pro. After giving my daughter a kick a$$ haircut, she patiently took the time to explain the appropriate haircare regimen to build my daughter’s confidence and appreciation of her beautiful curly hair. She now loves her hair and no longer ask to straighten it. Thank you Alex!! We’ll be back.
