Gabriela and Kyle are amazing!! They made me feel super comfortable by consulting me throughout the whole process. I’m so happy with my cut and color and will definitely be coming back to The Doll Room soon. This is by far the healthiest my hair has looked in years!! UPDATE: Have been going to this salon consistently since this post and want to give another shout out to Kyle and Gabriela! Amazing work, super professional! Can’t recommend enough.

Kyle is by far the best colorist I’ve ever been to—I’m also astounded by how quickly he works! The atmosphere of the salon is great, they really make you feel like they’re investing in your hair just as much as you are. Couldn’t imagine going anywhere else now that I’ve come here for a few appointments!

I’m so thrilled with hair cut from Gabriela. She made the loose style I’d had for years into its best form. My hair has historically been tough to manage which leads me to wearing it up 99% of the time. I finally can wear my hair down when I want to because it finally feels manageable with Gabriela’s cut and styling.

Gabriela was amazing! The first thing she did was diagnose what I was happy and unhappy with regarding my hair color and cut so she could come up with right solutions. I felt so taken care of with her ability to translate my vision into an amazing highlight and cut. I walked out of that appointment feeling myself again! If you're a blonde, go see her! She did wonders to my lackluster coloring from past salons. She truly listens and builds on what you want to make it even better than I imagined. I'll be back :)

Ive been going to Gabriela for 5 years now, wont let anyone else cut my curly frizzy hair! I love how listens to what I want and makes it happen. I don’t get color done but I can tell she is a master at her craft. Kyle is also amazing, I enjoy seeing him at the doll room when I’m in!

When my original stylist moved across the country she recommended Gabriela to me. SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! She gave me exactly what I wanted (even when I didn’t know how to fully explain it) it both color and cut. So sweet, and so talented.

Kyle is the best and is my go-to hairdresser in NYC! He is extremely talented at cutting and styling hair, consistently takes his time to make sure I am satisfied with the look, and is always a joy to talk with! I would highly recommend!

I've been a client of Gabriela's for years now and I've been so happy to be able to visit her in her own salon! She's done highlights, fantasy colors, and haircuts, all of which I've loved. The salon itself is also really beautifully done (I especially love the wall paper) and it's a treat to get my hair done there. And while he hasn't done my hair, Kyle is also lovely! Overall it's just a wonderful experience! Highly recommend.

So happy with my summer haircut! Gabriela was warm, attentive, and so talented! She took the time to understand the current state of my hair and what I was hoping to achieve. Going to a new hairstylist can be a little nerve wracking, so I appreciated her over communicating what she was doing (I.e., you said you liked a more feathery look so I’m going to use a razor). I felt 100% at ease and am so happy with the result. Thanks Gabriela! :)

Gabriela is fantastic! Amazing cut and most importantly color every time! I have been going to Gabriela after a friend recommended her for about 2 years now. Every time I come in she makes sure to check with me about expectations of the cut and color. She always asks for pictures to help nail exactly what you want. I recently changed it up and she checked in a week later to make sure I was still loving my new do! She’s incredible-10/10 flawless. In regards to Kyle, I sit next to his chair and see his clients before and after and his work is also flawless/outstanding! Could not say enough positive things about this dynamic duo!

I started going to Gabriela in the fall of 2023 to nail down my wedding haircut for spring of 2024. So I was early but not SUPER early in figuring out my style. First appointment I came with references, and Gabriela made suggestions to complement my type of hair and head shape to work with the references I brought. I scheduled one haircut each month leading up to the wedding, and each appointment we made minor refinements and she of course gave me styling advice each time. Overall I could not recommend Gabriela more! She is very detail oriented, and is an expert at her craft. She will make recommendations that work best for you and suggest products that work best for your hair type, etc. I can't recommend her enough!

Gabriela always does an incredible job dyeing my hair. I’m a natural dirty blonde and she always gets the right balance of brightening and elevating my hair while also making it look like I’m a natural. My first ever appointment with her was a color correction before a wedding where she was a lifesaver and I haven’t seen anyone else since! If you’re looking for a balayage you are in trustworthy hands!

I randomly found the doll room after searching for salons online to help color correct a dye job from the summer that left my hair looking copper. I wanted to get back closer to my natural dirty blonde color but with highlights. I met Gabriela on a Wednesday evening for a consultation. She took her time analyzing my hair and talking me through options. She was so patient and thorough and really eased my fears. I immediately felt like I trusted her and booked for Friday. The whole process took a little over 5 hours but it didn’t feel like it. Gabriela is so friendly and funny and personable. She made sure to explain every step of the process and we chatted about life, travel, reality tv our families and everything in between. It feels like getting your hair done by your BFF lol The final product was pure perfection. I’m obsessed with how my hair came out and look forward to being a customer for life 🥰

It was my first time going to Gabby for a haircut and she did a phenomenal job. Before the haircut she took time to get to know me, my hair type, and what I was looking for. The end result was amazing! Post wash my hair looks fabulous after air drying. Gabby is clearly gifted at what she does and anyone would be in great hands with her!

It’s been a very long time since i’ve had a haircut- and as a person with textured waves, I was really low key worried going to a new salon environment. Gabriella was fantastic, not only knowledgeable but insightful on my texture and even learned a couple of new things… like how to properly use a defuser lol. High recommend this salon.

I’ve been going to Gabby for years and cannot recommend her enough for hair cuts, styling, balayage, therapy etc etc. you will not regret it. I, however, regret moving 2856 miles away and do not trust anyone with my hair besides her. When I’m back in NY, I will for sure beeline from JFK to The Doll Room. 10/10 experience and person.

Kyle is a blonde expert!!! Got perfect natural blonde highlights from him in November, plus he has helped create a color that is low maintenance and lasts for months without touch ups! Going back in March and my hair still looks good…🥹🥹🥹

Gabby is the best. She has been taking care of me for a few years now and she has seen me through every length and color (literally from buzz cut to long hair). Every step of growing out my hair, Gabby has made sure to take care of me and make sure I’m happy with the style and shape. Not only that, Gabby and Kyle are the best to be around. So kind and create such a nice space when in their salon. Would rate 6 star if I could!!

I found Gabby a few years ago and of course, followed her to Doll Room when she and Kyle opened up the salon together! Their space is cozy and they always have awesome playlists on that I’ve definitely ended up saving for myself. Gabby and Kyle are always very welcoming and whenever I’m heading in for an appointment, I know I’m going to feel right at home. Gabby has helped me achieve my dream hair color of going from my natural black hair color to mostly blonde via highlights. She is so easy to talk to and the first stylist that I felt comfortable with sharing my dreams of going blonde. Throughout the process, my hair has stayed really healthy and long with minimal maintenance in between appointments. Of course, I’ve also worked with Gabby on multiple cuts, including short/long lengths, lots of layers, and different bang styles and she kills it every time. Highly recommend!!

I have been going to Gabby for over 15 years and she is an absolute artist. She listens to exactly what you want and delivers EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
