When I tell you this was the best experience I've ever had going to a hair salon. I scheduled the appointment for my daughter and left scheduling an appointment for myself. Joy & Joia were very informative with beautiful personalities. It really was a VIBE (especially the music). The salon atmosphere is so beautiful and welcoming. The ladies are so beautiful with body ody ody lol. This will be our new home for natural healthy hair care & skin care. Thanks ladies! Can't wait to come back❤️

I got my first curly cut here and I love it! Tyra was my stylist and she was amazing. I was nervous about getting a curly cut as I wear my hair both curly and straight and Tyra gave me some tips to get the results I want with my hair in both states. She also taught me product and styling tips that I’ll literally use forever, my hair has never looked so good. The cut was great and I feel so much more confident with my hair in its natural state. That’s priceless! Thank you, Tyra!

I am thrilled that I found The Hair and Image Studio! The vibe and atmosphere of this fabulous salon are warm, inviting, and beautiful. I have never felt more comfortable in a salon than when I am here. The educational component Joy, the owner, incorporates into the healthy hair salon modality is fantastic! I have learned more about my hair and how to care for it in the past two visits than I have in my entire life. Joy is a wonderful and caring business owner. This establishment is a 10/10 in my book. Tyra; Associate/Assistant Stylist; I have been looking for a new hairstylist who understands how to work with ethnic hair since moving to Colorado in 2014. I love my hair, but let me tell you, my hair has a mind of its own. I have wanted a new bold, colorful hairstyle for the past year. Luckily, I paired with Tyra a few weeks ago, and I could not be more excited. I asked for my hair to look like a smoldering fire; of reds, coopers, and dark browns. Tyra delivered! 10/10 experience. Joia, Esthetician; Let me tell you about Joia! This wonderful human is kind, welcoming, funny, and knows how to work magic on brows and skin. I was lucky enough to slide into an open availability during my hair appointment. Joia reinvigorated new life into my eyebrows, which still look amazing. I can’t say enough wonderful things about The Hair & Image Salon! Joy does a phenomenal job with my hair, keeping it healthy and strong while also supporting me as I branched out of my comfort zone and added extensions - I’m obsessed! I also get my brows tinted here by Joia. She is extremely talented and I leave with my brows looking flawless every time. This is truly a special salon and I am happy I found it!

This review was long overdue but I was referred by my sister, who had nothing but good things to say. When I say everything she said was all true, I mean it. I’ve gone to so many salons and none really knew how to handle my hair type. Tyra took care of me and when I say she did her thing! Very knowledgeable with curly hair and she was super sweet. 10 out of 10 for me!

Where to start! I have been coming to Joy and Tyra for about a year now and I love coming in. I have had so many different styles and services done, from natural twist outs to hand tied extensions. I love how easy it is to discuss hair options with my stylists and love that there is so much flexibility. Joy operates her salon with training, education, and client comfort in mind. It is really nice to just be in the salon and relax and be taken care of. Respectful, kind, and peaceful salon. Scheduling is a breeze and the salon has plenty of parking, very clean, and orderly. And most importantly, my hair has never looked better! Healthy, strong, detangled and fresh! Thank you all so much for always taking care of me and my hair!

What an incredible salon! I had such an amazing experience today from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. I recently moved to Denver and was looking for someone to take care of my curls because my hair was having trouble adjusting to the dry climate and am so glad I found Joy and her team! As a new client, the total hair renewal package was exactly the refresh my hair needed since it comes with a scalp treatment, steam treatment, styling and trim but honestly I'm probably forgetting some things because I felt like I got so much value for the price! Ari (a curl whisperer) walked through every single step of each service with me and answered all the questions I had regarding washing, styling and maintaining my natural curls. I feel like I'm much more equipped to keep up with my hair between appointments now. I never once felt rushed or neglected during my session and appreciated the extra time both Ari and Joy took to ensure I loved my cut and my curls. Joy even offered to lightly reshape my hair if a few curls decided to rebel after a couple days, which was so thoughtful of her and showed how much she cares about her clients and their satisfaction when they leave her salon. If you're looking for a black-owned, top-notch, impeccably clean studio that takes cares of you and your hair (curly, straight and everything in between), then you're going to love T.H.I.S., I guarantee it!

All of the services are executed to perfection. I come for color services as well as maintenance hair treatments and my curls are always cared for with love. I’ve also received eyebrow waxing and the shape was perfect for my face. Never disappointed.

Finding a Black hairstylist you can trust is hard but I finally found THIS 3 years ago and it's been the best experience. I love the look and feel of this studio, and it's never crowded. It's nice to go to a salon that doesn't overbook their clients or leave you waiting 30+ min past your appt time! Joy always gets my hair right. Since working with her my hair has grown significantly and is the healthiest ever. She takes time to explain each step of the haircare process and provides tips on how to care for your hair at home.

I have lived in CO for 7 years and have gone through the list of black hair salons, and this is by far the best! Joy and her staff take the time to educate you about your hair, offer options based on your lifestyle, and always focus on the health of your hair. Booking is easy on the website, and I feel like a priority when I’m in for my appointment rather than an afterthought left under the dryer like in some salons.

I have visited on The Hair and Image Studio on two different occasions this year and have to say this is by far my best experience with a black owned salon. The service catalog is extensive and accommodating across the spectrum and that's even before stepping into the space. T.H.I.S salon is what you want to experience when you come get your hair done! Clean, inviting, great use of space, and luxury. The stylist are knowledgeable and work in a team dynamic which is honestly the best because it focuses on client satisfaction and timeliness. My stylist Ari was spunky, direct, and worked with me to create a hair restorations plan unique to me and I appreciate that SO MUCH! Joy, Tyra, Ari, and Joia are such a pleasure to work with.

My mom met Joy (owner) shortly after Joy relocated to Denver. Today Joy does my daughters, mine and my mommas hair. 3 generations! I’ve been going to her for easily 17 years now and not consistently so I know every-time my hair starts acting up I just need a little Joy TLC! Joy has remained the same outstanding professional you’ll meet today. She’s a student of her craft and she’s not afraid to keep up with hair care trends-in a healthy way. She’s beyond amazing, her salon is warm and inviting just as Joy is and what I love the most she teaches me how to best care for my hair at home. Which is why I don’t need to see her very often. Where they do that at?!?!? You won’t regret going to THIS! I might be leaving the state soon but I’ll be back just to get my hair done because I refuse to ever go to anyone else. Can’t even recommend them enough.

This is truly the best salon I’ve ever been to! The ladies here are so friendly, and not be cheesy, but Joy really is a joy to visit. She treats my hair the way it should be treated, and even did my big chop! Joia is incredible at brow tinting, and Ari is always a pleasure to be around and handle curls. Highly recommend to everyone! You really can’t go wrong with anyone who works here.

Tyra was very professional and did a great job ensuring that I was taken care of and comfortable. I appreciated her enthusiasm and cleanliness. However, I was unsatisfied with my style. I requested a cool blonde color (which looked absolutely great in the salon), but upon coming home I realized that there were some gray patches and streaks in my hair which I was unsatisfied with. My blowout and beach waves didn’t last as well. It became very frizzy within a few hours of me just being at home. The beach waves overall lacked the body and silkiness I was looking for. I liked the salon but I was kinda disappointed in the service I received.
