I can't recommend Fiona enough! I've been seeing her for years through various hair phases, and most recently, she helped me restore my hair after postpartum loss and breakage. What sets Fiona apart is her dedication to creating a long-term plan tailored to my hair goals. She takes the time to explain why certain results may take multiple appointments, prioritizing the health of my hair over quick fixes. Her expertise and genuine care have made all the difference. I cannot say enough good things about Fiona!! Fiona really takes the time to understand you and your hair - after 3ish years of getting haircuts with Fiona, my hair is MUCH healthier and I always leave feeling refreshed and confident with my new haircut! I've also tried her new "Hairapy" where she showed me how to use my own styling products/ tools with my hair type (<as someone who has always struggled to use a curling iron, this was SO helpful!) I've had my hair cut at plenty of salons over the years but nothing has ever come close to Fiona (If I ever move away from Frederick I will be returning 4-5 times a year solely to see Fiona haha). If you are new to the area or looking to switch things up, make an appointment! Her new salon space is absolutely perfect and you will leave your appointment feeling great and with fabulous hair! :)

Fiona is wonderful! She is kind, attentive, and excellent at what she does! She really listens to what her clients want and I always love going to see her! She has created such a warm and welcoming environment and her salon is the best place to relax and unwind. I highly recommend Fiona and The Hair Apothecary!

I have been going to Fiona for almost 7 years now! I trust her expertise, I can’t imagine going to anyone else. She has SAVED my hair, and has helped me reach all of my hair goals. Yes, it is always an amazing feeling leaving the salon feeling like a renewed woman with your hair freshly done, but what also feels great is knowing that at the same time I’m helping the planet. Fiona recycles up to 95% of the waste that is produced in her studio. In my opinion, you can’t find better service anywhere else. My favorite thing about my appointments is when I get my hair shampoo’d. Fiona gives the BEST scalp massages during this process. I truly look forward to it when I book every appointment.

Wow. Fiona is like a hair whisperer. I started with two years of random color and treatments and through carefully consideration for my hair health and goals we now have a beautiful product. Fiona is amazing!!! I’ve been going to her about 2 1/2 years now and always look forward to my next haircut. She convinced me to try playing with some color to freshen up my look and I never regretted it. She is the only one I trust with my hair! Her new salon is clean, calm, and she is always so much fun to be with! Highly recommend her:)

I can't say enough about the wonderful experience and fabulous hair I have every time I see Fiona! Whether it's fun pink color or classic blonde highlights, she always delivers. And she's generally just a fun gal to hang with for a few hours each time I see her! And...I am obsessed with every product she uses and sells. I have to also mention that she does a fantastic job with cuts for my 5 year old, plays her favorite Disney songs and we got a fun fashion color hair wash. 10/10 - would recommend

I first went to Fiona in March, and let me tell you she goes above and beyond! She truly takes the time to get to know you and your hair! She has transformed my damaged hair dramatically in such a short period of time! I truly appreciate her educating me on the do’s and dont’s. I wouldn’t trust anyone else! It’s taken me a long time to not panic when getting my hair done from past experiences. Whatever Fiona says I am completely okay with, and I have always left a happy customer! I reached out to Fiona with no idea what I wanted to do with my hair, just knowing I needed a change. During our consultation she got to know me and my hair preferences (styling, maintenance, history, etc). She tailored a cut and color exactly to my needs and personality, maintained cleanliness and comfort (particularly important right now), and made me feel like I was just hanging out with a friend. As long as she’s working within a reasonable distance to where I live, I will not be going to any other stylist.

I’m new to the area and had been looking for someone to do my hair. After 3 failed attempts and a damaged scalp I had someone tell me about her. After we met she was knowledgeable and explained what we could do with my hair so it would stay healthy and finish healing. She had exceeded my expectations. My first visit to Fiona was awesome! Her studio is super clean and very cute! Fiona is so kind and truly cares about her clients. I desperately needed a cut and wanted to finally get rid of the grey hairs popping up. She worked her magic and my hair looks and feels beautiful and healthy. I can’t wait to go back.

Never in my life have I trusted or stuck with a hair professional as long as I have Fiona. I came to her about a year and a half ago with terribly damaged bleached hair. I thought my options were going to be 1) have bad hair until it grew out or 2) cut it off. She revived my dead locks and talked me through every step, providing me with all the information I needed to keep and maintain healthy hair. She saw me through a beautiful transition to red hair, through returning to my natural color, and finally through the application of extensions so I could feel like the best possible version of myself. In just a year and a half I went from flaking blonde straw to long dark healthy hair. I could not have imagined I’d achieve this in such a short window and it’s all thanks to her. Thank you Fiona!!
