I have never left a Google review before, but had to use my first one to compliment the impeccable work of my stylist, Natasha!! She was naturally kind from the moment I arrived, went above and beyond to make sure she was cutting each layer of my hair to a length that I liked, and validated every question or concern that I had with compassion. I haven’t gotten a drastically different haircut in years and was anxious, but Natasha calmed every nerve and did an extraordinary job. I left absolutely ecstatic and so in love with my haircut. So, to anyone reading this review and wondering if they should get their hair done here, I highly recommend that you request Natasha! You won’t be disappointed. She’s fabulous! (Thank you Natasha!)

They absolutely wrecked my hair. It is breaking off in pieces. To say that I am devastated would be an understatement. The short story: I asked them to bleach/lighten just my roots, so I could go in and add some pink color (something I have been doing for decades). I told them it didn't need to be super white/completely bleached or even match my other hair, I just needed it lightened so I could do my hair for a wedding that was coming up. I warned them my hair was thin and that I didn't want to burn it out. But they proceeded to do not one, but two processes on my hair. Leaving the bleach on for far too long and even burning my scalp. The whole time telling me how strong my hair is and that the scalp burn was there before. Now my hair is completely burnt and brittle and keeps breaking off. Even after using hair masks and bond treatments, I can't even style the hair at all bc it is so fried and just constantly looks frizzy. It is going to take me years to grow back some of the pieces that are breaking off. I honestly just want to cry every time I look at my hair in the mirror. It is truly heartbreaking! The long story: I have been dying my hair fun colors on and off for over 20 years. I usually get a professional to bleach or lighten my dark roots, and then I add and play with the color myself afterwards. (which just makes it more fun and allows me to do touch ups, if need be.) A few months back my regular hair stylist moved away, so I was looking for a new hairstylist to do my roots. I researched a few places near me and found The Hair & Color Design Studio and saw they had good reviews. Bc I hadn't seen anyone in awhile my roots had grown out quite a bit, but the hair was overall healthy. I explained to the hair stylist that I was only re-dying the roots now, instead of just continuing to grow it all out, bc I had a wedding to go to in a few weeks. So, I said it didn't need to be super white or even match the rest of my hair, just light enough for me to throw some pink in it. I told her my hair is thin and that I didn't want to burn it out or damage it. And we agreed to doing one process on the hair. Even though the bleach was stinging a bit, I stupidly kept my mouth shut, as I was a new client and it had been awhile since I bleached, so I didn't want to make waves or be annoying. Plus, she was busy working on another client at the same time. After she rinsed out the bleach, she suggested doing another process, but I said I didn't want to damage the hair. She assured me my hair was super strong and she was using olaplex etc., etc and she kept pulling my hair to prove it wasn't breaking off. The second process hurt like hell and she left it on for ages. I could tell after she washed it out that it was burnt and the texture was completely different. The scalp near the front of my hairline stung like crazy, so I went to touch it. When I did, she told me that there was something there but it wasn't from the chemicals or the bleach it must have been there before. (I had nothing there before.) After blowing my hair out, ALL of the color that was in my hair was completely gone, not just the roots. I went home to dye it pink again, in the hopes that it would look better with some color back in it, but sadly it didn't. The hair looks frizzy and damaged and all of my bangs and several sections of hair on top keep breaking off in pieces. I can't even style the bangs anymore. Partially, bc they are so fragile I don't want to damage them further, but also bc the hair is so fried that it won't even style normally anymore. (Btw the pink I use is Manic Panic, it doesn't strip the hair further or damage it. And I have never had any issues with it in two decades.) I am so angry. Partially at myself for not saying more during the appointment and for letting her do a second process amongst other things. But also for allowing someone to not only ruin my hair that I have worked hard to keep from breaking, but also allowing her to gaslight me and tell me she didn't burn my scalp when she did. All in all I'm just devastated.

This place is amazing! Shore is so sweet and she does my cezanne treatment. It lasts very long and it isn’t as harsh as a keratin treatment. I keep coming back to her :)

Best Keratin treatment with Sherin - she is doing the treatment with Cezzane which is perfect for my sensitive hair. I also did my haircut there for the second time and I’m in love with the result. They did such a professional job and made me feel great during the process - could not recommend this salon enough!🫶🏻

Had a five star experience at Hair and Color Design, Natasha was hands down the BEST colorist I have ever seen. She had amazing attention to detail and put care into her work start to finish. SUPER HAPPY with my results, and she delivered the absolute best highlights I have ever had. The entire team there is kind, hospitable and client focused. I cannot recommend them more!!

I recently had a Cezanne Keratin treatment at the salon, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The service was excellent, and Shirin and Amanda were incredibly professional and knowledgeable. They took the time to understand my hair needs and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. My hair feels smoother, healthier, and more manageable. I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking for quality hair care and a fantastic experience!

The best salon in the city! Perfect products, the best stylists, and cleanest salon. I’ve been there lots of times over the past few years and have never seen one client leave unsatisfied! These people truly ruined my hair. During the first visit, they dyed my roots too dark, causing a harsh line throughout my hair. When I came back to get it fixed, they put chunks of painted, orange highlights on one side of my hair and then covered it with toner. I was unaware they were doing highlights, which I definitely didn’t want. I was told the color was because of the haphazard painting technique used without covering it, causing oxidation. For two weeks, my towels turned brown as the toner washed out, revealing the terrible color. I now have to go through an expensive and timely color correction process at another salon when all I came in for in the first place was a simply root dye for grey hair.

Shery is super experienced and dedicated to quality. She advised me to try ProAddiction, which smoothed my wavy/frizzy hair for a solid 3 months without making it look stick-straight in a fake way. I just went back for my second treatment, and Shery was very accommodating of my schedule. Thank you!

A few days out from the blonde Sezane keratin treatment and I love it. I’ve been getting Keratin for years so I know right away whether or not it’s going to be good, and I’m ecstatic about these results. Also, the woman who does it is so efficient and focused, she gets it done WAY faster than other stylists I’ve been to in the past. Will 100% be coming here going forward.

I used to get the Cezanne treatment from Shore & went back to get highlights and a cut. Shore was sick and so Natasha did my hair instead - she gave me the same 5 star treatment. She took plenty of time to make sure my hair received the proper processing time for the highlights & did a beautiful cut. Hidden gem.

I’ve been seeing Shore for about a year for the Cezanne keratin. I can’t believe I didn’t do this earlier, it has been game changing for my hair and so healthy. I go about every 3 months and the appointment itself takes 1-2 hours depending on your hair and how busy the salon is. Shore is wonderful and you can get an appointment next day or even that week easily. The salon itself is nice and clean. I also love that this is a women run shop - these ladies work hard and I’m happy to support them because they do a great job.

I called this establishment last minute, because I was feeling like my hair was very dull and lifeless. I was recommended this salon a year ago by a friend when I asked her who did her hair, and decided to come here for my hair transformation. I walked into the salon, and I felt right at home. Shore and Amanda are great people — very kind and very helpful. I let them take the lead with how much of my hair to cut off (because I had dead ends). I also got highlights which came out beautifully. The layers and the highlights together made me feel like my hair finally had life to it. I never go back for trims, but I will definitely be coming here to start doing them! 10/10, would recommend them to a friend! 💛

I have come for 3 different Cezanne treatments and am always thrilled with the results. I have super frizzy hair and they do an AMAZING job with texture and care. Love the people here! Friendly atmosphere and clean facilities. Definitely recommend.
