Vanessa was incredible. I booked her at the last minute to fix my orange hair. Ick. She called me with details and asked for pictures. I am a natural red head and was nervous to have a new person work on my hair and do a brown. She made me feel comfortable and I was able to fully trust her. She was very pleasant to be around and had a great energy about her. My hair turned out beautiful and I love it! I am a client for as long as she will keep me!

I decided to grow my hair out during Covid and aside from the occasional trim, I have not seriously cut my hair in almost five years. I emailed before my appt, inquiring to find out if there was a stylist that knew how to do the haircut I was looking for. I got a call back and was set up with a stylist who they felt confident could help me. When I arrived, I confirmed that they could help me out.I showed them multiple inspo photos, showed them the account of a stylist I admired but could not see because she was affected by the fires. My stylist assured me she was capable and knowledgeable. I told her keeping my length was important and that I didn't want more than 1/2 inches taken off the longest layers of my wolf/fairy shag I was hoping for. Multiple times during the cut, I told the stylist that I absolutely did not want length taken out, aside from some of the layers being put in. I watched her cut off several inches, while telling me she was not taking out length. I also told her that I wasn't looking for a cut that was going to require me to use heat for styling all the time. I wanted to work with my natural wave and a diffuser. I sat in my chair, panicking, hoping for the best. She turned me away from the mirror while styling me so I had no idea what I was going to have. I told her I didn't like the curled style that everyone has right now. (That's how she styled me). I could see that the bangs and face-framing layers werent what I was wanting but didnt ask her to cut anymore. She already had sprayed hairspray and was pretty much done. I didn't have her do anymore because she already gaslit me by telling me she didnt remove length. While I didnt look bad when I left, I also felt like she didn't understand what I was looking for and I felt uncomfortable with the length. I kept telling myself it wasn't so bad. When I went home and washed the curls and product out, it was more obvious that more than three inches had been taken off my longest layers and that my bangs were not framing and uneven, as well as missing the face framing layers I wanted. I had a ponytail that hit my shoulders before the cut and after? Barely hit my ears. I am giving a "2" based on the fact that I don't think this is the normal experience for most clients. I wish that my stylist and the one who recommended her, could have been honest with me about the limitations of their skill sets. I have 6-8 months before my hair is even close to length it was before.

Never been here before so when I called the week prior, I asked for a mens cut. They put me with someone who only had clippers. I have short hair. You need a buzzer, too. When I sat down she informed me of this, which I didn't have much choice since I already set this time aside in my schedule (and they took my credit card info just to set the appt). Now I have to go somewhere else to get it done properly as I needed this haircut for headshot photos. Hairdresser was very nice but you need the right tools for the job. I don't blame her, tho, as I should have not been put with her in the first place, IMO. Ironically, the owner text me and asked for a review....well, here it is.

Mary is an amazing stylist! She is respectful, easygoing and listens. I have never had a stylist treat my hair with as much care as she did. She is a master at her craft, extremely meticulous and thorough with her process. I came in with thick, black Asian hair and she was able to accomplish the color that I wanted, something I was never able to achieve with any other stylists in the past. I’m so grateful to have found my new hairstylist.

As our regular stylist was away, both my husband and I got to see Brittnay H. at the Lakes location. He came home with the best haircut he's ever rec'd, so, I decided to have Brittnay color and trim my ends. She knows her stuff and is a pleasure to chat with. We'll both continue to see her for our hair needs.

She was very friendly, personable, knowledgeable and asked me a questions about the cut I was looking for. She did an amazing job my hair looks fabulous and got exactly what I wanted. I recently visited The hair standard and was happy with the service I received. The stylist did a great job, and I left feeling confident about my hair. However, I’m disappointed with the pricing. I booked my appointment based on the prices listed on the website, but I was charged significantly more—about the same rate as a master stylist. If I had known I’d be paying that price, I would have booked with a master stylist instead of a newer stylist. Transparency in pricing is really important, and this experience has made me hesitant to return.

Quhinn was amazing! Quite different from the other stylists in the fact that she was listed as a cheaper stylist on the booking website but was far from inexperienced. She carried herself confidently and did amazing work. I loved my haircut and my time at this salon!
