Treated my MIL to a 60 min anti aging facial. She said the eye mask was unique and so relaxing! Staff was amazing and had great communication every step of the way. Will definitely recommend.

This was one of the most disappointing massage experiences I’ve ever had. It wasn’t a spa as mentioned in other reviews, we had to ask for a robe, then were told we couldn’t take it with us because they would never get it back, and the robe was a scratchy, uncomfortable robe anyway. Scott did my massage, he was very awkward, used jerky movements and was more concerned about his “sequences” than finding my tension points. I can’t believe I paid $265 for this.

Had an amazing massage and the staff were very knowledgable. As others have mentioned there are not traditional spa facilities & amenities but the prices reflect this.

I was in San Diego for vacation. I booked an appointment at Hideaway Spa at the Marriott Marquis. Johanna was my masseuse. She was very pleasant and took her time talking to me about my needs. Johanna is very intuitive- she knew where my energy blocks were and where I was harboring tension in my body. Her pressure was perfect; she also made sure to check in with me to make sure I was ok. I would recommend Johanna anytime! If I were to come back to San Diego, I’d book a massage again with Johanna at Hideaway!

This isn’t really a “spa” as much as it is a small waiting room with a few “exam rooms” for the spa services. No spa amenities or changing rooms with robes and tea etc if that’s what you’re looking for. I booked a massage and a hydro facial hoping for a half-day of pampering myself while my husband was at a work conference. My massage therapist was very kind and we had a good conversation beforehand about expectations, and I requested deep pressure, but the pressure was not quite what I hoped for. All in all, relaxing and comfortable! The facial however was nowhere near what I expected. I was very uncomfortable the entire time. The male therapist seemed extremely rushed and panicky almost, moving so quickly from product to product and quite literally “slapping” the product into my skin. It was very rough, awkward, he talked loudly and startling, not relaxing at all, and at one point I wanted to sit up and say “enough” but I just waited for it to be over and got out of there quickly. I was disappointed to not having tipping options to tip separately as I would have tipped the massage therapist well and maybe not given 22% to the facialist. Very strange experience for a very steep price considering it’s not a real “spa.” Save your money and get an Uber to a nearby spa if that’s what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a quick massage without leaving the hotel, this is a good option. Skip the facial. 3/5

I came in as a surprise birthday gift and had never had a massage before and it was the most lovely experience. My massage therapists name was janelle I believe and she even gave me some tips on different stretches to do based on what was tight. Thank you so much.

If you're looking for a true spa like experience, skip this place. There's nowhere to sit and relax before/after your treatment and no other amenities to enjoy. My massage was okay, but not something I would return for.

My husband and I got the couple’s massage, and it was the perfect start to our vacation! Chance provided a light, relaxing massage for my husband while Scott worked out all the knots in my neck and back. Highly recommend, especially if you’re staying at the Marriott Marquis.

Had a wonderful, peaceful massage. The elevator was broken and we had to use the stairs to get to and from the location, but that was not an issue. Would love to visit again when I visit the Marriott.

Had a couples massage with Anna and Cally while staying at the Marriott. Anna (who worked on me) provided an excellent/professional deep tissue massage which gave me immediate relief. I highly recommend visiting the hideaway spa when in San Diego

It's been a while since I've been to a spa given COVID, but given my past experience with spas, I did not experience the Hideaway as a spa which is how Marriot markets the place. I would say it is more of a facial and massage service center. There is a waiting room and treatment rooms. There are no options for showering before or after the treatment and there is a small waiting room with rigid uncomfortable chairs. The therapist did a fine job. I imagine it was written somewhere that the majority of time you will be face down during the massage, I suspect due to COVID. I likely missed it in the information I was sent. Being face down this long was very uncomfortable. COVID protocol was followed with contactless check in. Wanting to assure potential guests know what to expect.

The Hideaway Spa is located in the Marriot Marquis Hotel Marina. There’s an elevator from the north tower that opens right up to this tiny reception area. I assumed there was the normal spa amenities including a locker, sauna, shower, etc so I arrived an hour early. No such luck. It is more like a massage envy. You walk directly to your treatment room when your appointment time is called. That was a big let down. The massage however, wasn’t. Kathy was my therapist and was a true professional. There were areas that I was having pain and she was very knowledgeable. She’s pleasant and loves what she does. I would have ranked it much lower except for the fact she did such a great job. I will note the lower ranking on the Marriot hotel review since it is their job to provide guests with a real spa. They advertise it to be a great experience yet they don’t give the contracted spa enough space even though there are wide open spaces as far as you can see along the inside facing the pool. They should really know better being a Marriot.

I cannot say enough good things about this spa!!!! We had a couple's massage with Nicky and Lianne and both were fantastic. I came into the appointment with immense shoulder and neck pain and Lianne allivated all my stress and pain. She completely got rid of my tension migraine! Their care and kindness was above and beyond. All the staff was very friendly and the space was very clean. Any time I find myself in San Diego I will be back to The Hideaway!

Truly, the best facial I've ever had. Scott listened to my concerns of acne and redness very closely and walked me through each product used. I walked out of there with the clearest skin I've had in months - and still have the glow 3 days after!
