I see Tan who is an outstanding colorist and stylist. He took me gradually from brassy brown to silver blonde over several months. He cuts hair beautifully as well and listens to my concerns. Love this salon.

Lissa is a magician and she loves her craft. She gave me the haircut I exactly wanted just didn’t know how to express in words and couldn’t find the exact references. I felt seen and heard 100%. It was a joy!

This is a great salon, made greater by my stylist, Tinea. She is somehow able to decode what I'm asking from her - always patient and helpful while I'm trying to articulate it. I trust her completely and my hair always looks incredible no matter what new things we try with both style and color. She's really wonderful!

Tinea is my favorite hair stylist ever👏 I’ve been coming back here for a little over a year now. She always listens to exactly what I want, and then, somehow makes it even better than I could’ve imagined. Salon has a great vibe and I couldn’t recommend it more!

I've come here twice now and it is bright and clean inside. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and I especially recommend Kathleen. I have wavy, fine hair and she did a fantastic job with the cut and color.

Got my appointment at 1:45 then when I showed up exactly at 1:45, the receptionist was like your appointment is at 2. When I showed her my confirmation text, she said did no one call you yesterday?(Her attitude was impatient and absolutely unprofessional) After I said no. There wasn’t a single apology for their mistake. Instead of inviting me to sit down and wait, she told me to hang around the area. Funny thing is when I asked if I could sit and wait, she said not really because the hairstylist who was working on the other client had to take my temperature first. So I guess because of her inability to take the temperature herself, I had to actually ask if she could do it??then I waited for about 25mins, thinking that everything’s gonna go smooth now. HOWEVER, my hairstylist and I had some miscommunications for my hair. Five minutes in, I asked if we could do something else instead. And she told me because their lunch time is at 3, I HAD TO HURRY UP AND DECIDE?(she was also quite impatient and edgy) when clearly it’s their fault for making me wait in the first place. This place is just a well-furnished looking salon. Nothing particular about $120 for a simple haircut. Just don’t go. You’ll get disappointed. The whole vibe is weird. I also tipped $5 for such unprofessional service simply because I was asked to do so. (I did out of courtesy I guess hehe)

Got my only Covid era haircut while in LA back in October at the Hive, and am so glad I got paired with Katie. I was a first time client and felt welcomed and heard. She completely nailed my cut and gloss (with some bonus color correction). I felt safe in the shop, everyone kept their masks on and it wasn’t crowded. This stylist is one of the (very) few reasons I wish I lived in LA! leaving this update to an earlier- it’s now FEBRUARY and the cut still looks great / still getting compliments / color faded nicely. Thanks Katie!

I didn’t realize this till I got home, but my short haircut was lopsided, with one side visibly longer than the other. While at the salon, the haircut felt like it was finished a little too casually, and I left feeling like something was off. Although the overall shape of the cut is cute, for $120 I expected better. I did go back and get the cut fixed for free, which was good.

I asked for a straight cut and I got layers and a V cut! Dont like my hair, I lost volume and is so difficult to style by myself. If you go here be sure they do what you want, now I have to wait like months to have volume again.
