I got haircut with Karen. She is very kind and nice. I came very late 30 mins. Technically, the hair salon changed me a total price and I had to not get a cut but she was so kind and also gave me a beautiful layered cut. I don’t to recommend to show up late for this hair salon but just want to so how’s kind that Karen has. She is a pearl heart and amazing woman. I got the best experience from her and will back for sure🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Thank you so much to Lavender, who gave my hair a complete refresh! I have been growing out my hair since before my wedding, and I felt a little blah and uninspired on where to go and what to do with my hair. Lavender helped me decide on a plan that would help with a long-term low-maintenance cut and color that felt new, cute, and so healthy. I was also impressed by her willingness to accommodate my inability to sit for long periods of time due to chronic pain. I love the minimalist look of the salon; so bright and airy. I also felt so taken care of by the simple act of offering sparkling water upon my arrival. It's the small touches that made me feel like my overall experience was 100% awesome. The hourly pricing structure is SO DOPE. I think it's really disruptive and honest just to lay out exactly what to expect to pay and for the stylists to determine their own hourly. I feel like it says that the stylists are showing their customers what their value is, and we, as customers, can say yep, I'm in! It eliminates so much pressure. So happy I found The Ministry and Lavender.

I just moved out here and The Ministry Salon was absolutely incredible. I called before making an appointment and they were SO helpful with helping me find the right stylist and making sure I had all the info I needed. I had Karen do my hair today and she totally blew me away! I came in with messed up face framing and she completely turned it around to perfection. She balanced and blended my face framing perfectly. I’ve never had such a great hair experience! Not only is she talented but a joy to talk to and be around. I will definitely be coming back. :)

This review is wayyyy long overdue, but now I can give a 4-month update on my last appointment with Karen at her hair salon in Studio City! Once again, she nailed the color and surpassed my expectations! I wanted a style and color that looked expensive and full. The color I got was an espresso brown with different layers and soft curtain bangs, and it was stunning! The low maintenance hair color and haircut she provided are so easy to manage, and to this day, I receive compliments on how beautiful the color has washed out and how healthy and full my hair looks. Aside from the magic she did on me, Karen's energy is one of a kind. She's easily one of the best and most caring people I've met, and she truly takes her time to perfect her clients' wishes, ensuring they leave happy and satisfied. She is such a joy and light, and I will always highly recommend her to everyone I know!

I am terrified of letting anyone touch my hair and am proud to say I'm officially a lifetime client of Karen now. I have very long hair and am 60% grey. I've been wanting to color it for quite some time, but whenever I researched gray blending online, most of what I saw did didn't look natural, or required a lot of maintenance. Karen is a genius and decided to do a gloss. Not only does it look natural, but it will be super easy for me to maintain. Even better, the products they use are not animal based and are chemical free!! My cut was impeccable as well. She took out some weight and added long layers. I left feeling rejuvenated, youthful, and totally taken care of. Thank you Karen and The Ministry Salon!!

I love Karen so much. I get so many compliments on my hair, especially when I'm on set - and the credit all goes to Karen. We alternate between long layers and a little bit shaggier looks depending on what I'm working on. I'm a natural blonde, and she does amazing partial highlights on me that add so much shine and dimension. She uses plant-based products which I love and have incorporated into my own routines as well. Karen is an incredible person and artist. I can't recommend her enough - she is truly the best.

Disappointing experience... I paid $225 for a 90 min haircut with Julia, so there'd be time after to go over styling tips and hair product recs. The person I originally spoke with over the phone said 60 minutes would be enough for both but I decided to book a 90 minute session to be safe. The haircut itself is fine—it's cute, but honestly not worth the price, considering it was just a simple touch up on my shoulder-length straight hair. I was surprised it took over an hour just for the cut and blow-dry, leaving almost no time to go over styling techniques. I also noticed that other clients were offered sparkling water when they arrived but I wasn’t asked. We ended up running out of time to go over product recommendations, and Julia said she’d send them over via IG. I followed up with a message afterward and never received a response. While I do appreciate the stylist's willingness to accommodate and offer advice, the overall experience didn’t meet my expectations for the price. I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I wanted to be honest about my experience in case it helps someone save time and a few hundred bucks.

Harmoni did an absolutely spectacular job on my curly hair! She gave my curls lots of shape, body and bounce, and I love my new haircut. I also appreciated the way she walked me through every step of her process, both cutting and styling, so I can understand the technique behind the magic. She’s a true professional with tons of charisma. What an absolutely fantastic place to get a haircut. Harmoni is a BOSS with curls.

I love this salon! I was looking for a salon for a little bit now and I found this place on google. I did my research and I saw Julia specializing in shags. To be honest, I was nervous because I was trying out a new hairstylist. When I walked in she was so welcoming! She listened to my request to what I wanted for my hair. She knew exactly what I wanted.The products they used in my hair smelt so good! I will be 100% coming back for sure!! Thank you Julia!

Karen is simply the best! From color, to the cut, a blow out, and how kind she is….she nails it all every single time. The salon is beautiful, and the plant based color used at the salon is another major plus I love! My hair doesn't feel so damaged after highlights/touch-ups. 3 months in and my hair is still looking and feeling amazing <3

This place was awesome and Arielle was a fabulous stylist! I came in with a few ideas and she helped me figure out what would work best with my hair type and be the most realistic for my low-maintenance styling habits. Not only was she super sweet, but she walked me through everything she was doing and kept me involved in the process the entire time which I really appreciated. Walked away with the perfect cut and will definitely be back! Also love that gratuity is included in the pricing so you know exactly what you'll be paying when you book your appointment.

not a great experience at all. So over priced and so entitled. They charge $75 just to look at your hair and tell you what they think you need, in other words, the ““ consultation is expensive before you even get a single bit of color done. The is on vacation a lot and out of the salon a lot- not surprising, given the fact that she charges everyone by the hour - HER WHOLE SALON no matter the stylist charged you not by the service but BY THE HOUR!!… Not a single upscale salon I know charges you by the hour- not even Beverly Hills!! Which basically means that if your hair happens to takes longer to “bake” - you’re paying 3x more that ANY OTHER SALON where you pay by the actual service! I honestly don’t know how anybody’s affording this these days, but the outcome is so mediocre that I considered calling the credit card company and having to charge reversed. Definitely do not recommend

I had a wonderful experience with Tricia at Ministry Salon! When it comes to my hair, I’m lazy: I want it to look good, but I don’t want to take the time to style it. I asked Tricia for a bob that worked well with my face shape, and she gave me the best haircut I can remember! It’s been a couple of weeks, and even after letting my hair air-dry daily it’s still holding up as a really great cut :)

I'm the dad of a teen. Last summer, her hair was getting wild. We'd grown apprehensive about the brand-name chop shops which had produced uneven results over the years -- not to mention the time she let me have a go -- so we searched online all over LA to find a "grown-up" salon. The Ministry stood out for its attention to personalization. They listened to what my daughter wanted before booking, and then matched her with Julia Flaherty, the perfect stylist for my daughter's hair and aesthetic. The results were exactly as hoped for. The salon is simple and lovely, with high ceilings, a fantastic music play list (you can even make requests in advance!), and stylish, talented, kind hair-artists who give their clients complete attention. Julia's work is beyond outstanding. We've now had a second visit and are thrilled, again. I recommend the Ministry for a great cut and color in a cool, classy salon, with plenty of parking, and flanked by a nice cafe one side and a barbershop on the other.

If you want the long layered, bouncy blowout of your dreams, Karen is THE girl! I've tried so many salons in LA - They all tout their celeb clients but deliver average AF cuts at a massive price point. But with Karen, I can't say enough good things... I have thick, long, heavy hair, and was never able to achieve much volume, shape and bounce. But Karen is a magician!!! The blowout she gave me lasted several days!!!! I've never gotten more compliments on my hair. I was drawn to the salon because they use non-toxic products. But I'll return because of the incredible service I received from Karen. Beyond the cut (perfection), she has an infectious vibe, and every step of the way explained what she was doing, and why it was beneficial. Love that she is invested in holistic health, which absolutely includes taking good care of your skin and hair! I booked 90 mins. because my hair is long and thick, but we only needed an hour, so she reduced the price accordingly and was sure not to overcharge me. Which I really appreciated!! A bonus - there is no tipping! The Ministry is fully transparent in their pricing, which covers gratuity entirely. For girlies like me who want a completely stress-free, relaxing experience - no math involved - it makes a huge difference!

I’ve been going to Karen Park for the past 2 years. I’ve followed her from 2 other salons and will go wherever she goes. My hair is pretty flat but she knows how to give it a lot of volume and bounce with her cutting method. I trust her so much that i defer to her on how much to cut and what to do each time I see her. Her cuts look as good on day 1 as they do months after - no awkward growing in period. The salon itself is nice too. I like that they bake in all the costs upfront so it’s gratuity free, all the products they use are clean, and it’s never super loud or chaotic in there like other salons tend to be.

Saw Karen at The Ministry Salon a few weeks ago and got an amazing haircut. You know how when you meet someone, there’s an instant vibe? Karen was good vibes from beginning to end - a calm, relaxing presence while giving me not just a beautiful, bouncy, “bombshell hair” layered cut but also a scalp cleansing and massage and an education on how best to take care of my hair. It’s been a few weeks and the haircut still looks fresh (that only happens with precision cuts - the good but not great ones hide a lot with styling but can’t hide after some grow out). Also really liked the clean, natural products she used which made my naturally wavy hair smoother and shinier. Made the trip all the way from the South Bay and it was so worth it to find her!

I could not be happier that I found this salon!!! Maryam is absolutely incredible. She is so freaking good at what she does. She absolutely transformed my hair. It now springs up into ringlets that I didn’t even know were possible. I had really high hopes after finding her on Instagram and she waaayyyy exceeded my expectations. She’s the only hairdresser I’ve ever been to that truly understands curly hair and knew just by looking at it what kind of products and care my hair needed. Best haircut of my life & also left with clearer idea of what products/styling techniques I should be using. Never trusting anyone else with my hair ever again. 💜💜💜

If you're working extended hours and have fallen behind on the self care needs, Tricia at the ministry salon will take care of you! She opened her books for clients on Sundays which is absolutely amazing for people like me.. I was feeling down on Saturday night about my unkept and poorly cared for hair. Lucky me, I was able to book a haircut for Sunday afternoon appointment! Woo! I am pretty punctual and showed up a bit earlier than scheduled, was greeted by one of Tricia's colleagues and was provided a beverage while I waited for her while she finished up with another client. Tricia was very personable, patient and mindful. She explained the process throughout the haircut and made light conversation that wasn't overwhelming. I also appreciate that she was not on her phone or distracted by other conversations throughout the appointment. She was totally dialed in and made everything quick and easy. Parking was easy, there's a ton of street parking in the front, and a small lot in the back. The place was clean, and very well kept. I really enjoy The Ministry salon and their whole brand. The Ministry Salon is so cute! Such a great vibe when you walk in. Everyone is super nice and the place is right next to a coffee shop if you want something during your haircut. Marlee is my curly hair specialist and she really is the best! She listens to what you want and helps create a really good hair/color treatment experience. I always leave feeling so good after my appointment. My curls look amazing!
