I haven't felt this relaxed in a while. I work 50-60 hours a week and tend to stand the majority of the time. The cupping was a little uncomfortable but the release was worth it. I felt like Colleen listened to my needs before starting the massage and showed her professionalism throughout the session.

This is a great spot if you are looking for a place to relax physically and spiritually. I get massages for relaxation and this is a great place to do this. It’s affordable and easy to book.

I had a massage today with Justin, and it was probably the best massage of my life! The ambiance of the spa is really calming. Justin was very thorough in ensuring everything was tailored to my preferences, and the massage was simply magical! The whole experience was very soothing and I'll definitely visit again.

I had an excellent massage given by Ceily (sp?). I had the sports massage with deep tissue. I left feeling relaxed and recharged. An added bonus - I have a shoulder injury and my shoulder was treated with the greatest care. I’m also experiencing more mobility in my shoulder. Overall, I felt like I was in the hands of a professional and I was impressed with her methods which felt modern and well-informed. I loved the friendly staff, ocean sounds, aromatherapy to begin and end, as well as the cute and clean interior. I recommend Now.

I had the best massage of my life here. Nick has such a caring touch and he knows when to apply just the right amount of pressure. While it's a little more expensive than other places, I definitely plan on going back and booking with him.

Absolutely do not waste your time trying to schedule an appointment here. They called to reschedule three separate times leading up to our appointment, which we scheduled weeks in advance for our anniversary. The final call we received from them was less than two hours before our scheduled appointment time. They claimed that there was an “emergency” all three times. Three emergencies within 5 days seems pretty wild to me. Of course when I pointed this out to the person on the phone, Anthony said that I was “crazy” for suggesting he wasn’t being truthful about the cause of all the rescheduling. This is clearly a shady operation I would avoid all together, unless you’re into gaslighting of course. Then this might be the spot for you!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! First of all, the therapist I originally booked with was swapped without my knowledge or without notifying me of the change. I specifically booked with Gustavo after reading the reviews. This is very dishonest and speaks volumes about the operation of this business. The therapist I ended up with, while pleasant, was absolutely inexperienced or just not good at her job. She also had ice cold hands and the massage was a continuous bumping along of disconnected movements, tugs, and random strokes. While not painful, it was NOT relaxing, therapeutic and just borderline unpleasant! I can hardly call it a massage at all. Also, the ‘oil’ used created more friction than gliding and while smelling lovely made it a 50-minute session of pulling and accidentally slapping my skin around. How can you get this part wrong? The room itself was cold. Parts of the body that were not covered by the blanket would get cold despite the heated bed. Towards the end I really started considering if being there for the ‘prenatal’ massage was doing more harm than good. I had a long week and was looking forward to unwinding hopeful to the very end that the therapist would find her groove, but the whole experience was a downward spiral. Awful, awful waste of money and time. Also note, this place is NOT cheap at all. This is simply another gimmicky Instagrammable ’shell’ with questionable practices and ‘professionals’ where price point does not come close to quality. I normally go to Xenana Spa and wanted to try something new. What a mistake that was! Going back to Xenana Spa next week - best prenatal massage ever. The only positives of NOW Massage are the location and the ambient music in the room.

From beginning to end, it was a transformational experience. I left feeling lighter and completely refreshed. The ambiance, soothing sounds, lavender aromatherapy, minimal aesthetic and restoring massage all made for a true reset. Thank you!!

Highly recommend the now massage to anyone and everyone! From the ambiance in the lobby to the treatment rooms this place is magical. Leilani and zaz at the front desk were so helpful and welcoming and Gustavo was amazing! He really listened to my needs and worked my neck and shoulders out so well. For someone who deals with chronic neck/shoulder pain this was a game changer. I also love how the treatment started with a focus on breathwork to really help you relax and release the tension in your body. Can’t say enough good things!

I used to go to the NOW location in Silverlake, in Southern California and absolutely loved it. I was so genuinely excited when I drove by the location on Hawthorne!! I love the design of all the locations and Hawthorne is no different. I find it to be such a relaxing environment. Emily is an excellent masseuse and I like her technique. She is very in tune to her clients and could tell areas that needed special attention without me having to say much. I have a port device in my chest and always warn my masseuse; Emily was so gentle and careful but still gave the area attention and relaxed me. I really appreciated how low key she was about it. Go right now to NOW on Hawthorne!

I was so excited when I saw that The Now was opening in Portland. It lived up to the wonderful experiences I've had in Los Angeles and I left feeling restored in a way that other massage spas just don't deliver. So grateful it's here!

I went with my mom and sister and we had wildly different experiences. My mom had a great experience with Randy which we were all happy about. But, my massage was so light in pressure I could almost not feel it at times. When I asked the masseuse to go harder she did for a minute and then reverted back to a very light rubbing at times. The vibe was relaxing but it was nothing close to what I’d call a massage - big bummer and a waste if over $100. Worse was my sister. She was pregnant and got the prenatal add on, and asked to have a specific spot on her back addressed that was painful. Unfortunately, her massage was short 10 minutes at least and the masseuse left in the middle of the massage after realizing my sister shouldn’t have castor oil b/c she’s pregnant (I would have thought the prenatal add in would have made that obvious). The tight spot in her back was not addressed, there was nothing “prenatal” about the massage (so why did we spend an extra $10?), and the massage itself was disorganized and bizarre. She did different massages on different sides, and punched my sisters but for several minutes in each side.. very weird. Overall a bummer and a waste of money. I won’t be going back, but if you go, I’d suggest making a request for one of the better/more experienced masseuses.

I’m not exaggerating when I say Sara Jean gave me the best massage of my life. I’ve been trying out various places and never once had such an amazing experience. I’m a nervous talker during my massages, but because of the way they are set-up at the Now, it forced me to be quiet and finally relax. Outside of the atmosphere, Sara added aromatherapy in a way I have never experienced and got into my shoulders in a way that had me feeling rejuvenated both mentally and physically for weeks. I instantly joined as a member and am grateful to have recurring treatments on the books!
