SILK PRESS SEASON : I received exceptional service. The salon owner did a phenomenal job on my hair leaving me speechless. My hair is smooth, shiny, lightweight, and healthy after trimming. I have so much body and volume. When I ran my fingers through my hair — I thought it was a weave 🤭Whatever products he used are worth the service I promise you. I’m recommending him for all-natural hairstyles. Moreover, I also witnessed a killer sew-in prior to my appointment. So this guy is truly a professional!

TT Blessed my natural hair. This is my third visit. First visit was a beautiful silk press. Second visit were braids that were predicted to be worn for 8 weeks, I did. Third visit, silk press and trim. TT has my hair on a healthy journey to being great! I can't wait for next visit. Salon staff are awesome and professional. Money well spent and worth it.

I LOVE this salon. I have been meaning to post for sometime but I can’t say enough how they all can slayyyy some hair honey. From my silk press to my braids I am always pleased with the results. I truly love and enjoy my experience at The Pretty Mane, there not only your stylist but they become your friends as well. I love the service I receive from Jay and I love the atmosphere in the salon. If you are looking for a great quality of work and a very honest opinion on what you should or should not do to your hair then this is the place for you. From the cut's I have received to the color's I love to change to The Pretty Mane does great work and they are not all about trying to get your money they are about great service and healthy hair for the long term. Jay is a true Gem!!!! I’m from Detroit and moved to the area 4 years ago. Been to several beautician leaving me disappointed. Jay is a perfectionist and is VERY knowledgeable. I’m a new client of his and made sure I did not leave his Salon without booking another appointment. His is my bestie in my head. 😝🥰

Tallula did my silk press and she did an amazing job! I’ve been doing my own hair for 9 years and tallula offered advice and tips without shaming me for not knowing any better. We talked plans for further visits and I cannot wait to come back and try some protective styles!

Book more than 2 stylists on a 4 prom weekend. We did not go, told an hour before the appointment that the stylist was behind. She tried to have us come an hour later. Nope. I would not recommend this salon. Unprofessional

I debated on reviewing this salon because it is not on the other stylists or owner. I will go ahead and review my experience that took place in October 2022. I was spoiled to get my braids done and unfortunately, my main braider was not available. I ended finding TT on Craigslist and decided to give her a chance. I reached out to her to ask questions about size and price. I specifically wanted bra length knotless or box in small or medium. I still have the texts from that day. I also mentioned that I had my own custom blended hair to use. I came in the next day at 4:30 pm. I will appreciate the hair wash as some braiders want you to come in already prepared. Great conversation too BUT I did not expect to be in the salon until after 2 am. Things came up and I stated that I could come back if need be. I was charged MORE than what was quoted and not what I was wanting either. The braids were too long (which I texted her hours later) and not uniform. Some were the size I was good with, others were more of a large/jumbo. By it being late, I figured I would let her know later. I never received a response back and for $375, it was not worth the price. She had to sub in another color because there was not enough hair (even though I did ask how many bundles - usually 6-8 depending on size). As a braider, I would have confirmed the style and length. The hair was there to cut and feather (I am a former licensed braider so I know what to look out for). As much as I wanted to love my braids and support, I will stick to my main braider. I gave three stars for this reason. To the person who may respond, I do have the texts if needed and I do not wish to have a new service or anything. Just wanted to share my experience.

I had a bad experience with another salon, and ended up taking a chance on the Pretty Mane - am I glad that I took a chance! Justin relaxes my hair exactly as I requested and never have I had to wait more than a couple of minutes beyond my requested appointment time. Whenever I walk out of there, I feel brand new!

I had a great experience at the Pretty Mane this weekend and would highly recommend this salon! The space itself is very well maintained and cleaned and all the stylists I encountered were friendly and very knowledgeable. Tallula did my box braids and I am so pleased with how neat they turned out and how quickly she did them! The braids were not painful and I was able to put them up the same day I got them without a problem! I will definitely be coming back!

I was in the market for a new stylist. After searching around for someone who could work with natural hair - Tallula "TT" fit the bill! She is professional, friendly and has remarkable skills! She assessed my hair and listened to what I wanted. She is wonderful and I'm happy we met. My hair is beautiful, healthy and happy. I've found my new stylist - TT is the best!

Tiara-Nicole did my braids. I got medium knotless braids to my waist and the service included a shampoo, conditioner, and blow-dry. Me and my daughters have had our hair done here before by other stylists. We love the salon, everyone is so nice. It’s clean and easy to get to.
