Although I have used this service before, I am extremely dissatisifed with the customer service after my initial appointment. It seems like whenever I try to make a follow up appointment, the owner of the salon always cancels without a reason given. It is for that alone that I decided to give the company one star. I wasn't under the impression that my services were not wanted and there has been lack of communication about why I keep getting rejected. I had high hopes on using this salon again but I am very turned off by what I have experienced after I visited.

My overall experience with this salon was great. Initially, I was a bit "iffy" because the person doing my hair was late for MY appointment; however, the wait I endured beforehand was worth it. I was given solid advice on how to care for my hair and my stylist was very professional. Many compliments have come my way as a result of the service I've received and I have even referred others to the salon. Will definitely be going back...

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star! HIGHLY DISSATISFIED! I booked an appointment with the owner for a permanent plum color. My 1st time there & the owner didn’t service me. Upon no introduction she had me wait on the new girl which I learned was inexperienced. I had to figure out that it was the owner who told me to wait on another stylist & I was totally confused bc I booked with HER! The new girl gets there late & the owner was basically coaching her thru the process of how to bleach my hair! I felt so uncomfortable and I have experience myself in hair so I told the girl that she was working too slow & she wasn’t applying the color on right & that my color will be blotched if she doesn’t evenly apply it & that’s exactly what happened! My color turned out horrible & so far off from plum it was a ugly orangish-brown color. It’s totally UNEVEN & in patches. I stressed my disappointment & how highly upset I was with the owner (she took my payment as well) & all she did was took $10 off ONLY bc her employee missed a step in the service I booked. She didn’t offer a free style nor a discount if I were to come back nor did she discount my service. This has still unto this day damaged my self esteem I wear wigs all of the time bc I don’t want to cut my hair off & start all over again & it’s been a little over a year since I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! My hair color is still SO UGLY & doesn’t fit me at all! Wasted my time & money & I drove over an hour away to only receive the worst service ever!!!

So a little background, I have been growing my hair out and I have two wigs I was wearing but I wanted a more real feeling. I called this place and spoke to Leslie and just a few days later was in for a full sew-in weave. Leslie even came in on her day off to work with my schedule. She was amazing!! When I scheduled my appointment she told me where to get the hair and what type, she was also very honest about the results I would be expecting which is the best hair I have had. I think the best part was everywhere I went people would ask "who is doing your hair?" And when I said Leslie they ALL knew who she was which made me even more confident in where I decided to go. She was very knowledgeable and I had done my research on weaves before and she was wonderful answering any questions I had BUT most of all the results are mind blowing I am head over heels in love with my hair and how strong the braids are holding. I will be going back again and again this is the best hair experience I have had, she is truly an artist!

went for a trim and she decided to cut it while my hair was still wet which obviously does not go good with natural hair so yea she got a little lazy and decided not to blow dry like she should have a because of that more hair got cut than needed BUT i will say the atmosphere was very nice and welcoming and i did enjoy it i am skeptical about going back tho whatever she put in my hair started flaking up. hope this helps someone

Definitely not the best hairstyle I've had done. I really wanted my hair down but being that it was memorial day, the place that I usually go to was closed. So on google I found this place and was optimistic after reading the reviews but it was all for nothing. The reason for the 2 stars was because of their availability - the person was very flexible in fitting me in and because of the hrs operated. I sent the pix of what style I wanted, the stylist said she could do it. Well it was no where close. Styling went quickly, she was done after 1 hr. However she could never get my hair styled the way I wanted. (And this hairstyle I've done many times myself but didn't have time to do on my own this time). Another think was how frizzy my hair looked, it look like I'd had the style for a week vs a few mins. Then some of the flat twists were loose and tried to smoothe the hair back with edge control. After about 15 mins of her trying to salvage the style I just gave up and left. I was too embarrassed to wear the style out so I wore my wig instead. One mistake I think she made was that she didn't comb my hair out before twisting it. It was just a mess. The pic posted has 3 images, 2 including the ones she did and 1 showing how my hair looks when I twist it up. You can definitely see a difference

I'd like to start this review by saying that this place has some great employees on their staff. Doniyell and April are particularly great and I've always had great service from them. With that being said, they (for some ungodly reason) allow a completely ghetto, rude, and racist fool to work there. This person who shall go un-named is the rudest, most unprofessional and obnoxious person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. If a white person walks through the door, this chick might as well be a rabid rottweiler because she's always ready to bite someone's head off. She's completely bigoted towards ANY cultures other than black, going as far to even call our local Greek festival "some punk-ass Greek festival." Here's a list of things this turd RUDELY said to me or asked me during my last visit. You're lucky you're not in my chair or I'd comb out those dreads and start over. Was the top of your head really itchy or something? Are you on any type of medication? Is your father balding? Do you know when your dad started going bald? You know you're balding right? How long did you plan on having dreadlocks? She literally said all of this crap to me and it took everything in my power not to curse her out or tell her to look in the mirror and fix her own fugly looking, uneven neglect-dreads. Yes I know I'm f@#$ing balding. Just twist my f@#%ing hair, take my money, and shut your moronic ass up. Look. If I'm giving your place of business my hard earned money, the least you could do is not ridicule me. If this chick's IQ was any lower, it would be negative. I hate that I have to post a bad review for a place I've been patronizing for several months, but they need to fire this fool before more reviews like this start rolling in. *drops mic* 9/26/16 - EDIT TO ADD: I just received a call from the kind and professional manager of this establishment. I've been informed that said un-named person from my review received a lot of complaints and I won't have to worry about being bothered by her again. If she really and truly gets the can, The Salon will be my go-to choice for hair styling. Aside from that one incident, their staff has always been kind, courteous, and very respectful. It's always nice to see a company uphold their integrity and values.

I've been coming to The Salon for over a year now, after moving to the area & reading Yelp reviews about it. After my first experience, I added a Yelp review, too. I just HAD to! The same goes for why I'm adding this review on Google! I just HAVE to! We're all busy; we all want to Netflix binge; we all want to scroll through Instagram & Facebook; we all want to "check out" & just relax for awhile. So, taking time out to write something (esp when we're not in school anymore, lol) means a lot! This review is important enough for me take time out of my chill time & write it, because I want as many people as possible to know how truly WORTH IT for them it'd be, if they go to The Salon & have Leslie do their hair! THE SALON & LESLIE ARE AWESOME !!! If you want someone who's not only a stylist, but who's truly knowledgeable in how to care for hair, how to make it healthy if it's not & how to keep it healthy if it already is, Leslie & The Salon are for you! AND she is skilled enough to do any style you ask for! And that is REAL TRUTH coming from me, because I change my style/look often, lol. I'd recommend The Salon and Leslie to any & everyone!

I received the worst experience EVER received in a hair salon. I went in for a simple flat twist in the front and two strand twist in the back. It was the ugliest style I'd ever (i was able to add pictures)..I ended up taking the twists out and two strand twisting the front. The most annoying unprofessional stylist ever. Don't waste your time or money.

My hair appointment with Ms. Leslie exceed my expectations. If google offered 50 more stars that would not even begin to be enough to describe how satisfied I am with my sew-in weave appointment with Ms. Leslie. During my hair appointment with her she always went the extra mile. She made my sew-in look natural and I left her salon thinking "where my leave-out was?" I will definitely be going back to her in the future.
