I went to get my nails done a couple times but I haven't been back since I was treated like some strange white womens pet. I was getting my nails done and she came up behind the chair and grabbed my braids into both of her hands. she started talking about how beautiful my hair was but I had never seen this person before or met her. My initial feeling was rage because what gives her any right to touch me, a stranger. I have no idea where her hands had been. I stopped going because of that. I'm sure that she doesn't care and thinks that it was just a compliment but it was not, you can compliment with out touching a stranger. I have thought about it since then and it makes me sick that someone could be so entitled that they this is ok. These days I'm not so nice and if anything like that ever happened to me again, I'd probably punch her in the face which is what she deserved. I'm writing this review because of what that situation did to me and because the next person is going to hurt her. I had been getting my nails done by the same person for seven years but because she works there she lost me as a customer. Might I suggest some training on professional, diversity, and just on the fact that any unwanted touch is bad. I should mention that it was an employee who decided to behave so poorly. I won't go back there for any services.

I have been going to Tina for a few years now and she always understands my hair and what I need. I am so glad to see her at Pura Vida. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and setup. I have never been to a salon like this before. I loved how my stylist had her own areato focus on me during my appointment. I feel like Tina at Pura Vida is the best combination.

Blaire did an amazing job with my spa pedicure!! She was friendly and attentive to detail and made it a very relaxing experience! The salt scrub and massage chair were also wonderful! Pura Vida has a great location and vibe!
