Mixed experience with my husband last week. We both had pedicures and messages. The place is clean but cramped and not well laid out. The coed lounge only has 4 places to sit. Chair for hairdrying station is directly in front of door connecting to lounge and I got almost hit twice. We both liked our pedicures and she took her time with actual cuticle and nail care. My husband says his therapist used way too much oil and he was taking showers rest of the day to de-grease. My massage was better but she talked throughout and didn't really focus on problem areas. Seemed like just a preset routine. Steam room was good, but no indoor pool or hot tub. 17% gratuity automatically added. Overall fine, but I wouldn't rush back. The overcharge for "spa" experience really doesn't get you much.

My boyfriend Scooter and I would love to give a shout out to Amira, Mia, Diane and Yvette. We visited the spa this past weekend and received massages from Amira and Mia, and nail treatments from Diane and Yvette. Not only were our services amazing, but each person was super warm, welcoming and kind. We will definitely be back!

My aromatherapy Swedish massage was not a great experience. Way too much oil was used throughout the massage. I couldn’t wait to take a shower after the massage. I asked the massage therapist to massage and focus on my tight shoulders, she didn’t even massage my shoulders. There was hardly any pressure applied and I couldn’t even smell the lavender I requested. I shared my experience with the receptionist because she asked how the massage went, she just apologized and that was it. $165 for a disappointing experience with my mother during Mother’s Day holiday.

My husband and I visited Boars Head Spa for a couples massage, and while the experience was mostly wonderful, it ended on a sour note. I opted for a prenatal massage and requested harder pressure, which my masseuse Joanna accommodated perfectly. Joanna was fantastic and I'd highly recommend her. However, upon checkout, Dawn informed me of an unexpected $15 upcharge for the deep tissue massage Joanna provided, which hadn't been mentioned beforehand. When I expressed my surprise, Dawn rudely replied, "It's only $15," and then condescendingly added, "Well, is $15 really a dealbreaker for you?" That wasn't the point. Her dismissive attitude and lack of empathy were shocking, especially considering I was a pregnant woman trying to relax. Dawn's behavior was unprofessional and added unnecessary stress to what should have been a calming experience. Despite my request to speak to someone else, Dawn, who claimed to be the manager, reluctantly called the spa director and then only offered a partial reduction of the extra charge. Maybe she was having a bad day? I'm really not sure, but Dawn's unpleasant demeanor and lack of customer care were unacceptable, and she single-handedly marred an otherwise great experience. Her rudeness and unprofessionalism were entirely out of place at a reputable resort like Boars Head.

This was not as relaxing as I expected. It's hard to relax in the women's lounge when someone comes in every 10 minutes to clean, and straighten, and fold...it just made we want to leave the spa to find a place that's still so I can relax my mind. Not to mention when we stepped away for a second to use the restroom or grab a book to read our tea and snacks were cleared away and seating area cleaned and straightened. This was not a relaxing experience. I'm sure they meant well.

After 2 years of holding on to a birthday gift certificate for the Boars Head Spa I decided to make a weekend out of it & stay at the Inn. We had to switch rooms as the air conditioning was broken in the first room, no big deal. the rooms are out dated and really need some general maintenance. I was really looking forward to my massage the next day. The interior of the spa is very nice. However, the staff left something to be desired. After a short wait I was shown to where the locker room was & given a locker/instructions on how to use it. What I didn’t realize is no one told me if the massage therapist would come get me or if I should go to another room. I went back out to the front desk to ask the lady there & she looked at me like I had three heads. The massage itself was probably one of the worst I’ve ever had. The therapist didn’t apply any pressure even tho I paid for a combo service.(several different types of massages in one session). I voiced my concern about this just to have it ignored. Through out the whole 90 min massage the therapist would pause for minutes at a time & “breathe” wo out touching me. It was very weird and out of at least 100+ massages I have never had this happen. I realized at checkout that the tip is not based upon quality of service but is automatically added based on the cost of the service. No wonder the therapist didn’t feel like she had to do her job. Will not ever return to the Boars Head, definitely will not return to the Spa or recommend them.

First experience - Spa at Boar's Head Resort - Poor customer service. My appointment was confirmed via email by the spa for 12:00pm. I drove 30 minutes to the spa and arrived at 11:53am for a "Signature Pedicure" ($95). Upon check-in I waited in line for 5 minutes while 2 staff members behind the desk scrambled to make change for a client who was paying in cash. I told the girl at the desk my name and that I was scheduled for a 12:00pm pedicure appointment. She directed me to the "Ladies Lounge". I patiently waited in the "lounge" for a full 25 minutes. At that point (12:25pm) I returned to the front desk and informed the woman (who appeared to be the manager) that my appointment was at noon, I could no longer wait and had to leave. She glanced at her computer and said "your appointment is at 12:30pm". I showed her my phone and their email confirmation for 12:00pm. Her response... "I wonder if there is something wrong with our booking system?". No apology for my inconvenience or offer to compensate me in any way for their error. This spa has strict policies about lateness for their clients. However, if they are late or make a mistake they do not assume any responsibility. Poor customer service. Under no circumstances would I ever return to the Boar's Head Spa or recommend it to anyone. AND their "Ladies's Lounge" smells awful - like a stinky bathroom!

LOVE getting facials with both Meredith and Melissa! They are both extremely sweet, knowledgeable, and talented. I always feel so taken care of and pampered. Embarrassingly, I also keep falling asleep — I just feel so relaxed lol!

My massage and pedicure were wonderful!! However, I was changed $25 plus gratuity making it over $30 for gel removed without being asked or told it would be an additional charge. When I told the manager about this she said I had to pay the additional charge (even though I was never informed) because it caused the girl to do my pedicure to get behind. I sat down the same time as my friend and we finished one moment apart. I realize $30 is not the end of the world but it was frustrating to spend on something so minimal that I wasn’t aware of having to pay. I’ll take my business elsewhere in the future.

This is by far the nicest spa I’ve experienced in the cville area! The women’s lounge, common area, locker room and steam room are all great. There are spa robes and sandals. The pool opens May 1st, 2023 so I couldn’t go out there but the gym is available if you book a spa service. There is complimentary tea + snacks. My pedicure was lovely! Thanks.

Lovely ladies "locker" room with a steam room and luxury amenities. Peaceful waiting area with tea and snacks and soft blankets. And amazing massage therapists. I've been three times and every single time has been amazing. I highly recommend the 80 minute Swedish massage, Heaven!

Nothing to say. Golf,spa, escape room,ax throwing, archery, spear throwing...I can't stop...the Mill Room. This place is awesome. Only downside is I can't go every day. For the best hit stone massage ever...ask for jessica!

The new spa area was nice. But my massage therapist was not very skilled. I have spoken with the spa manager and she was very gracious.. and I feel the spa services will be improved in the future. I do plan to go back again.

The manicure was not worth the extra cost, compared to the express one. The pedicure was worth it! She cut my nails a bit shorter than I wanted, but may have been harder, since a couple of mine had broken the week of and having them blend.
