Great customer experience but please make sure to communicate. They went above and beyond and used very high quality products and the price is great. I have natural hair and for any curly sisters coming here for a trim and press please COMMUNICATE and communicate even as they’re doing your hair. I don’t fault the company I feel like perhaps I should’ve communicated for them to trim the hair after my hair has been straightened. I ended up having too much hair cut off because it was being cut in the middle of the blow drying process and as it was being straightened. It’s important it’s done at the end when the hair is all the same length that way you can really see how much hair is being cut off and what hair is really split- natural hair when it’s blow dryed does feel very dry and like it’s damaged but it’s not. My hair is usually trimmed at the end of the styling process at other salons but I thought I should trust the process here because I thought maybe they do things more by the book here, and I regret it a bit my hair was bra strap length and now it sits on top of my shoulders. Again I should’ve communicated but it was hard to tell since my hair was in its curly state so I couldn’t really see. I’ll definitely come again it was great but I’ll be thorough of what I want/how I want it done. So please let my lesson be yours.

College students went in and half of them got messed up. Didn't know how to work with different styles of hair. Need to be supervised properly when working and very unprofessional. Our local beauty school in Lorain OH is much better! If there was a zero, I would have rated that.

I had three different services done here today, and I will come back every month. The students were phenomenal. The facial was the coolest thing I've ever had done in my life. And the prices were amazing. 10 out of 10 will definitely recommend.

Interacted with a racist instructor today her name is Miss Chrissy. I came into the school for a service at 10:00am, I saw several students that were almost due with clients and no one was waiting to be serviced. She told me every student that had a current client in their chair would take the remainder of the day, which I know was a lie. I came with my hair in its natural state, which is thick and she just stared at my hair the whole conversation. I had to even ask was it because of my race and hair type she just Chuckled after a few second said no! I will be calling the school to complain on the next business day.

Horrible experience here!! I brought my daughter and granddaughter and I wish they would have said they were not feeling like doing anymore hair because I don't think I will be back here, the teacher has no regards for her job and what she's supposed to do, I'm so unhappy with all three cuts I think I should call the upper management and get a refund it's not ok to ask your client how they want it cut?? Do I look like I even do my hair? I went to the other school and said 3 words to the girl with hair down to my hips and she got my cut correct and I didn't have to beg to have it thinned!! I have frizzy hair to make my bangs short and frizzy wow I can't even put into words what they did to my granddaughter's hair. Until they get a better instructor that wants to be there and teach them how to cut hair I won't be back.

I came in to get cornrow braids and even though they were a bit busy, I was helped in less than 5 mins. Tiffany was my stylist and she was the absolute best. I definitely recommend her if you are looking for a gorgeous and professional style!!

Adrianne was EVERYTHING you’d love in a hair artist ! She was truly listening to what I wanted & definitely achieved that for me . I thought I wouldn’t be able to get what I wanted because other hair stylist else where have told me it would be too “ hard “ too achieve , Adrianne CRUSHED THIS !! Amazing girl , super sweet bubbly personality & most important she’s very knowledgeable about hair & also gives great tips to help you keep your hair healthy & beautiful. Go See her and make your hair dreams come true , before she fully graduates !

I went in for a facial can I just say Elyse was very nice and effiecient, she explained everything she made me comfortable I loved my massage and the spa music was an added touch. I RECOMMEND Elyse definetly for your estheticians needs she will be there til June when she graduates. Ladies pamper yourself !

Megan Kilgore did an AMAZING job brightening up my hair without needing to re-bleach it! I’m obsessed with the colors she used and would Definitely recommend going to her for bright hair colors and fun conversation!

We've been here many times for waxing, facials and makeup applications. It really depends on the student you receive, but we've almost always had amazing experiences. My daughter had a natural makeup application done for her senior photos last week and the student did a phenomenal job. My daughter has possibly the most fairest skin of all and this student went above and beyond to accommodate that feature. I wish I could remember her name, but due to the consistent service we've received, you should be able to find a student who can provide you with the same!

I've had shampoo, trim, and flatiron service done at other schools in the area. This was my least favorite experience! I asked the student about tools being used, and his response -- jokingly, I think, "This is a White school!" But the service rendered reminded me that I'm not of the "privileged" class. The Sup barely checked the trim, in comparison to other faculties.

Ms. COOKE confirmed me getting in right away when I called on an early Friday & Mariska was very confident with her ability to give me a great pixie cut without any instructor Assistance. I'm very happy with my cut today. Thank you Spa School. I appreciate the Healing Hands program for customers with cancer history.

Shout out to Shauna!! Went in for a pedicure and she was great! We had great conversation, and she did my polish perfectly. She seemed to have a lot of experience which was really comforting to have. The chairs for the pedicures were not so comfortable (which has nothing to do with the tech!!) and I understand you get what you pay for because it is a school. I also got a manicure (not by Shauna) and wasn’t too pleased. The tech skipped the soaking process, and was going to skip pushing my cuticles back until she realized she shouldn’t skip some steps. Then when it came to polishing, the polish turned out very clumpy, she did a top clear coat and then went over some spots with the color polish again because she noticed that she missed some spots. After getting out in the sun, I could see the layers in my polish and my clear coat had tons of bubbles. I understand these are students but some may need more practice before being put on the floor. Definitely would recommend shauna for pedis though!!

This place should be amazing. What they do for cancer patients is the only reason they get two stars. I called this location 3 times before driving an hour to get there. At 1:40 in the afternoon we are told there are no students to help us after calling before we walked in and were told they could help us. Mind you, they are open until 6 and no one was doing color or anything else that would take a long time. We said we were patient and would wait and we were told no, that the students needed to go to lunch and often times they don't come back. Seems like a management problem to me. If you want to try, go ahead but it was an epic fail for us.

Worst experience. Went in to get my hair colored. I thought it would be okay since the student was about to graduate and there are instructors there if anything went bad. The student even asked for inspo pics the day before. But no. While she was rinsing my hair the instructor asked me to pay before the student dryed and styled my hair, so I did. And now I know why. She turned my hair orange!!! It was awful. The student said she didn't like it so she was going to put a new root color on to fix it but she wouldn't have time to dry or style it if she did. At that point I just said okay because I didn't want to leave with orange hair. Well I still left with only slightly less orange hair and I have to pay another stylist to fix it. I can't believe the instructors let this happen. I'm not mad at the student, she's a student and I still tipped her for her time, but the instructors know better. I feel bad for those students and hope they get better instruction elsewhere. I would post pictures but I'm too embarrassed.

As a previous instructor, I wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone. The students are now teaching the classes as they cannot hire instructors because the pay for their educators is less than what one would make at McDonald’s. The money taken from the students for tuition helps pay for the owner’s private island and jet vs being reinvested in the school. I saw cockroaches in the school up until I left in Dec. the cosmetology program is prioritized over the esthetics program. The management is chaotic and inconsistent. There are many other options for esthetics, do NOT go here! This school used to be great 20 years ago but because nothing has been updated, it remains worn-down and outdated. I’d love to share more about my experiences here…

I have had a few different services (color twice and Keratin Treatment) with Karis and everytime I am so pleased with her color technique, her suggestion for the keratin treatment was on point and made a huge difference in the texture of my hair. She is a very impressive young stylist with amazing skill and personality to boot! Definitely visit the spa school and ask for her!

Not necessarily a personal review. I’m looking at these reviews and I think it’s important to remember that this is a school …where you LEARN, and that if you want something ask for the advance students . If you want something to be done specifically then go to an experienced professional

Seriously they need to have zero stars. I have called ahead of time twice to make sure that they could do the service I wanted and was told twice that they could, only to go to the other side of town and then they tell me that they can not do the service. Apparently they only have students answer the phones but they are still training them so they are unaware of the actual services offered. They have wasted my gas and time twice now. When I asked to speak to the instructor she was rude as well. Her name was Mrs. Chrissy, she looked away several times while I was talking to her, rolled her eyes at me, and made snickering remarks/faces to the students at the desk that interjected into our conversation. They were very disrespectful and dismissive as I asked them questions. When I asked to know who was in charge of the spa school at this location and for their email they refused to give it to me. I tried to call back later but was hung up on, then Mrs. Chrissy answered the phone when I called again, but unfortunately with more disrespect stating she was the one I talked to when I was there and to look up the information online. If I am able to find the correct email I will be letting the appropriate people know of my terrible encounter there because that was extremely unprofessional and rude. They should try for better customer service, and not let untrained students answer the phone. I'm very disappointed in them.

The experience at the Spa School was not how I had imagined spending my evening on Monday. The nail tech servicing me was being antagonized by one of hair students after she asked the hair student if the items blocking the manicure chair were hers. The hair student continued antagonizing the nail student by continuously making comments and telling all the other hair students what happened. I expected an instructor to intervene but that did not happen. I also watched two students work on one client and had no clue how to manage the clients texture and used methods that will cause excessive heat damage. If students are not properly trained on textured hair, PLEASE educate students on this and know that it is not appropriate to have two students working on a hair style because they are not confident in doing textured hair. It is important to detangle textured hair and then blow dry. I watched them rake through her hair with two blow dryers excessively! The instructor did not walk around or make mention of this improper service.

This place was so ratchet! Very dated, wallpaper city. They have wrought iron patio chairs for the nail area and I think sewing tables for the nail tables. The newest and best is not necessary but at least give these students industry-standard equipment! It’s clear they don’t have what they need. The products used on my facial were heavily scented and the sensitive skin product smelled like rotten eggs. Halfway through my facial, a bunch of girls started screaming and then proceeded to bump bass and music for like 20 mins. Not relaxing or considerate to fellow students working! There were girls screaming, coloring, it looked more like a daycare than an educational institution! I don’t really care because I just went to support a friend but it really does seem like leadership needs to do a better job maintaining a professional environment so these students can succeed in their careers to come.

We called to confirm the hours they were open. We were told they were open until 6:00, but when we arrived at 4:45, they said they were no longer taking any more clients that day because they use the last hour of the day for cleaning. First of all, don't tell people you're open until 6 if you're really only open until 5. Secondly, the place looked disgusting and they need to spend more than an hour cleaning it. In retrospect, I'm glad we were not able to get our hair cuts there, and definitely will not try it again.

on my most recent visit i seen a roach run across the floor twice and there was another one on the wall very unsanitary never going back..
