I am in AWE of this place. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, it’s an all around exceptional experience. Staff is extremely kind and made me feel so welcome. As someone who has been to a few salons and desperately looking for a stylist who is attentive to detail, listens to EXACTLY what you want, and is up to date with the trends, I found Autumn at the Thomas West Salon. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a personalized and professional hair experience.

Alona at Thomas West is an absolute wizard when it comes to Airtouch. She’s the best of the best—a true perfectionist who takes her craft to another level. Every time I leave her chair, I feel like I don’t even deserve the gorgeous hair she gives me. She’s so talented, meticulous, and kind, it’s hard not to rave about her. Honestly, I hesitated to write this review because she’s such a hidden gem, and I don’t want her to get too popular for me to book! But she deserves all the recognition for her amazing work. Airtouch isn’t something many stylists in the area can do, let alone master like Alona has. If you’re lucky enough to snag an appointment with her, prepare to be blown away. She’s simply the best.

Autumn did two rows of beaded wefts in my hair and took me from blonde to dark brown. the results are absolutely gorgeous and I wait to see her in 6 weeks for a move up! She was so knowledgeable and recommended me the perfect at home routine to care for my new hair. i will Definitely be back!

Autumn got me in last minute and was great! I will definitely be back. She made me feel comfortable and confident and made sure to ask specific questions about what I wanted. We even discussed how we could incorporate changes in the future based on a surgery I will be getting where I will need to have part of my hair shaved. I am sure that I can trust her in the future with my hair.

Beyond Highly recommended! It was my first visit and I was a walk in. Nothing was a problem. I was treated so nicely. Not only was The owner is delightful but he listened to my concerns and he put with the best stylist for me, Dayna. Don’t give up on finding them inside the merchandise mart on the 2nd floor. Worth the cost. Worth every moment of being at the salon. They were all so attentive to my needs not just selling a service. Absolutely delighted and they gained a new customer.

I adore Taylor. He has been doing my hair for a while now. I can basically come not say a word and he would know exactly what to do. The space is also really beautiful and a pleasure to be in for hours at a time!

This is a great salon - super pretty and amazing views of the river and city! Owner is super friendly & welcoming & the staff all follow suit. I recommend going to Autumn! She’s amazing with my color, super informed and experienced, helps me understand my hair, makes care recommendations, and always makes my hair exactly how I want! She also really prioritizes hair health which is the most important reason why I keep going to her. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a new stylist in Chicago!

Autumn is a hair wizard!! I’ve been seeing her for almost 2 years and she brings my hair dreams to life EVERY time. She gets my dark hair to the perfect blonde color and has the best treatments/advice for keeping it healthy. The salon is gorg too!

Okay, run - don't walk! I had an amazing appointment today with Samuel. Everyone was so kind and welcoming from the phone call when I booked throughout the whole appointment. Samuel really took the time to understand my hair texture, what I wanted and balance that with keeping my hair healthy and the result was amazing. Perfect caramel dimension for fall. Will definitely be back.

I had an amazing experience here! Wyatt gave me a cut and gloss, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. He was so sweet and incredibly skillful; I felt super comfortable the entire time. My hair looks and feels amazing and I’ve gotten so many compliments! I swear it’s never looked this shiny. I’ll definitely be back. Highly highly highly recommend!

such a great place for any hair styling that you need! I’m Indian and I have a lot of trouble finding stylist that understand my natural hair and Sam always nails it with my haircuts and blowouts. I literally don’t go to another salon in the city because everyone is just so great. shout out to the owner and Sam!!

I have been seeing Lindsay for 4 years now and I cannot say better things about her pure talent and the salon overall! Lindsay not only is extremely talented and gives me the best hair every time in her chair, but she also is so knowledgeable! My hair has never been healthier and has GROWN so much to the point it’s at the longest it’s ever been! It’s all from Lindsay’s professional recommendations, her knowledge of the best of the best hair products and treatments to use (and at the right times!), and her care for hair. Over the last 4 years I have been getting weft extensions and highlights / coloring done and have always gotten glowing compliments from people about my hair (and people are always shocked I have extensions because she does such a good job blending the colors and installing them!). She truly has built my confidence up!🩷 I feel so grateful to be able to sit in Lindsay’s chair!

My friend referred me here and I met with Maggie for cut and color. The experience was game changing! One of the things I've always struggled with is getting into the seat and being asking: what do you want to do? I never know how to answer that...would my face shape/forehead look good with bangs? Should I have layers or not? Is my color right? Alllll of it! Maggie was super patient and walked me through her recommendations and WHY. It all made sense and made me smarter looking at how I style my hair. I was there three weeks ago and I go back today for a color touch up and I can't wait!!!

Usually I say I love my haircut and I’ll be back but when I see Dayna at Thomas West I actually mean it!! I don’t know what she does that other stylists I’ve been to in the past do not, but I’ve never loved my hair more now that I’m going here! It looks healthy and falls perfectly and I feel so much more confident leaving an appointment here than anywhere else I’ve been to before.

Got a walk in appointment for highlight and cut by Anthony and he did me right! Wow. I'm so happy. My curls are luscious, bright, and refreshed. Highly recommend. If you're looking for a curly cut and/or blonde color he's the one.

Lindsay is the best! She has been doing my hair for 3 years and has taken me from Blonde to Red and now we are working our way back to Blonde! Not only is Lindsay incredibly talented but she is also transparent and honest with what is and isn’t achievable while in her chair. Throughout all the change over the last 3 years my Lindsay has been able to maintain the integrity of my hair even with the constant processing and bleaching. She also has the best seat in the salon that overlooks the Chicago River 🤩

Thomas West is an absolute luxury. Has my full commitment and loyalty. Long appointments can be grueling but spending them here is a delight. High ceilings, full of natural light with a stunning view of the river downtown. They carry what seems like every product you could ever want. Everyone is kind and professional. It seems like a healthy, friendly work culture which is very comfortable and welcoming. Noemi is hands down the best colorist and stylist I have ever had. The final product consistently exceeds my expectations. I have so much gratitude and respect for her on a personal level. I saw her initially for a box- blonde color correction and come back routinely for blonding, blending, cut. Her skillset and experience is extensive and I would recommend her for any service.
