Amazing experience, I just walked in and left with the best hair style and cut i’ve had in a long time. The color for my roots matched and existing color was enhanced with glazed treatment, results are so good. I have a afternoon meeting in an hour and no traces anywhere of any color, the cut is fabulous and products left my hair natural and can still put my fingers through it, so happy! Thank you!

I feel refreshed, rejuvenated and energized after a session with Tim, who is a master of cut and color. He and his partner David run this gorgeous salon in Mid-town West. The salon is always buzzing with vibrant clienteleI. I have observed for over 20 years beautiful work by the highly skilled Timothy and his able staff. David runs a tight ship with exceptional client skills.My enthusiastic experience has now entered 2024.

Finding the right hairdresser in New York City can be quite a challenge so when I found Timothy John Salon and Gracey, I knew I’d never change salons again. I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years now and am increasingly happy with each haircut that I get. Fun environment, professional receptionist, and always easy to book.

After not getting my hair cut for about 5 years, starting even before salons were closed down during the pandemic, I was a bit scared to set foot in one but finally decided it was time. I loved my experience here! From the welcoming front desk to my stylist Griselda who listened to me and provided her own suggestions. She did a fantastic job!!! Very happy with the end result (8 inches shorter)!

I went for a curly style lesson with Feliciano. He styled my hair and explained how he was styling my hair. And, he encouraged me to try twisting my hair so I can do my hair at home. Feliciano is a knowledgeable stylist with a delightful personality! I left feeling confident about being able to create a gorgeous curly look!

Really disappointed, as I just came to the salon to retouch my roots. I specifically asked for a deep ash blonde Inoa color I’ve been using for years before the appointment. I also reminded the colorist that I’m interested in this very specific very deep ash blonde color as my hair tend to turn brassy. It is only after she applied the product that I realized she used a gold shade blond color instead. She was sweet and tried to fix it afterwards with a toner but the results are disappointing. I’m red hair now instead of blonde. Just want to cry 😭

Gracey is the best! This time, I went in for a bang trim, but she consistently impresses with her talent across all hair services. She's like an oracle when it comes to hair, always offering invaluable advice and sharing fascinating facts about hair care, even down to the chemistry of metals and water. I can't say enough good things about her. She's expertly fixed my color and haircut multiple times. Honestly, I always have great experiences at Timothy John’s.

Timothy has been my stylist for 24 years. He is a cutting wizard-an artist with a pair of scissors. When I asked to transition to my natural silver color, he masterfully highlighted to match my roots until we had enough outgrowth to cut it very short. My blonde highlights were always so natural looking, I just wanted to embrace my inner “Miranda Priestly”! Run to Timothy John’s Salon-tell em MJ sent ya!

I had a wonderful experience at this salon! I was visiting my daughter in NYC when I tripped on the sidewalk and scraped skin off of both my hands and one elbow very badly. My left hand swelled and I couldn't hold a blow dryer or a brush in it & I couldn't bend my right arm much without being in pain. I also had grey hair showing which would I normally cover myself with root touch up. I needed to be able to go out but I was in pain & hated the way I looked. I was very hesitant to try a place I'd never been in the heart of NYC! There were so many things I was worried about. Thankfully nothing I was worried about happened. First I did call ahead and got an appointment for the next day. They took me right on time with no wait. The front desk receptionist offered me a cup of water which I thought was very nice. The salon is neat and clean. The thing that I really appreciated was how RELAXING the salon is. No blaring music, no crowded waiting area, no overbooked stylists! At one point the owner, Timothy, came over and talked to me for a few min because he heard me explaining how I fell - that was very sweet. My colorist, Gracie, was easy to talk to and did exactly what I asked for - just a basic root touch up that would blend with my existing color & highlights. She did a perfect job - great color match & she was careful to wipe any that got on my forehead below my hairline so no stains. Keoni did my blowout (apologies for any misspelling!). She did a fabulous job! It was smooth on top & bouncy on the bottom - exactly what I asked for. I have thick, wavy, frizzy hair so she had to make many sections & she smoothed the roots to mids perfectly & then used the round brush to curl the ends. I think it took at least 45 min just for the blow dry. The color & blow out took about 2 hrs which was very quick compared to the salon I go to at home. Then came the scariest part. Time to pay. I had seen the prices on their website & fully expected to pay the top price + more for the additional time my hair always takes. I actually asked the receptionist twice if she was sure when she told me the amount. It came to $185 total. That is amazing! I just can't thank this salon enough! I was hurting & having a very bad couple of days & this wonderful experience put a bounce in my step - and in my hair! I have already recommended them to my daughter and I hope this salon will become her regular salon too!

Unprofessional !!! Stay away. I had to come back since Elisa did the wrong color the first time after I was sitting for 3 hours and paying $340! I obviously didn't look like blond and I said right away: This is not the color I asked for! Elisa said via instagram that I can come back for 6 blond stripes. if it's more I will have to pay extra 😂 when I came back to the salon a week later so they can fix it, I found out that appointment was canceled due to colorist sickness (really?!) No one bothered to call me. The owner could simply apologize and say: Sorry you had to travel all the way here, we will reschedule it. Instead, the owner attacked me verbally by saying: you came with orange hair. we fixed it ( basically what else do you want ?!) who treats clients like that ? especially the new one?! you were rude and disrespectful Timothy. You showed to everyone who you truly are.I hope you find peace and happiness in your life. the pictures below: The first is on the day of the service . second: 21 days after! do I look blond to you ?!

My child decided she wanted her hair even shorter and did not want to wait three weeks to see her usual stylist back home. Yolo it is, after reading a ton of reviews, I opted for Timothy John’s. They were able to see us as a walk-in and a stylist showed up about 10 mins later. She listened to my daughter tell her what she wanted and she made sure we both understood what she was going to do. My daughter was extremely happy with the results, even if this Momma was a bit shocked. Don’t get me wrong, it looks fantastic! And was just what my daughter wanted but I miss her longer hair. It watch out because you know what they say about a women who changes her hair…she’s taking over the world!
