I visited yesterday for a haircut, hoping to get a layered style with lots of texture. Unfortunately, the stylist made minimal changes to my hair and kept insisting that he didn’t understand what I wanted. It’s disappointing because I’ve been a loyal client, and the team used to work so hard to deliver transformative looks. Now, however, it feels like Yoshi is rushing through the process and prioritizing speed over quality.

Terrible experience at this salon. Made a hair color appt with a stylist named Maki. She was nowhere.to be found. Sat in the chair and the RECEPTIONIST started to prep my hair. I politely inquired where Maki was. "She's too busy". Uhh, the salon was empty. I inquired about the blowdry I booked, was told "we won't have time". I walked out and will never be back. I can't recommend this terrible salon that disrespects clients!

Got a blowout with Keila and she is AMAZING!!! I absolutely love it! The space is super nice and cozy, they gave me a scalp massage to die for and the price is very reasonable! Would totally recommend and will definitely be coming back!

I had a head spa with Edina and a haircut with Taka, and both were fantastic! Edina’s head spa was so relaxing—her technique was perfect, and my scalp felt rejuvenated. The whole experience was calming and left my hair feeling soft and healthy. Taka gave me an amazing haircut, paying close attention to detail and creating a style that suited me perfectly. He’s truly skilled and takes the time to understand what you want. I highly recommend both Edina and Taka for an outstanding salon experience!

I’ve been a regular client of Taka’s for years and his haircuts are always excellent. This time I also hired the head spa with Edina and it was my first experience. I have to say it was amazing! Edina’s technique was so relaxing and my scalp feels incredibly refreshed. Maybe it will thicken my hair! Highly recommend for anyone who wants to try Japanese Head Spa.

Slomit (she/her) did a fantastic job touching up my grays. They blended in really well with the rest of my hair. It looks amazing! The salon is beautiful and conveniently located in TriBeCa. And the coffee they offer is delicious!

Tried out the (new?) head spa experience. Edina was great, it was pretty relaxing. Definitely outperformed my expectations, I was initially pretty curious what it’d be like and don’t regret trying it out. Would probably try it again in the future when it’s less cold out or post haircut

Hazuki was incredibly lovely and did an amazing job on my hair! She was very patient with my questions and requests and didn’t move too quickly to cut it since I was concerned about length. Lauren was so friendly and chatty as well. I’ll be back!!

I have been a client of Taka for 7 years now - from UES to Tribeca. My loyalty as a customer stems from his dedication to his craft, attention to detail, and the top-notch hospitality provided by him and his staff. Having always had a finicky and difficult -doo, I am grateful that he has essentially transformed my cutting experience to one of guaranteed satisfaction. Today, I got to try the Head Spa for the first time, provided by Kayla. The treatment was refreshing and relaxing, and made my hair feel weightless. The perfect cherry on top. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing experience at Tokuyama Salon today! Taka gave me the perfect hair cut, and I also enjoyed a discount deep treatment that left my hair feeling so smooth and shiny. My partner had a hair cut and a head spa with Hazuki. The hair cut was flawless and the head spa was incredibly refreshing. I highly recommend this salon and will definitely be coming back!

I am really happy with my highlights from Kay and cut from Ray! I went in for single process color to cover my greys and Kay advised me to try highlights which require less maintenance: partial highlights every 5 months vs root touch up every 2 months. She matched my hair color with a perfectly natural, flattering chocolate highlight and also added down lights in parts. It looks like my own hair color but better and no noticeable greys. I am just very satisfied with the result! I also got a deep conditioning treatment afterwards to ameliorate some of the hair damage.
