Had the best experience with Donna Rae. She listened to what I wanted, I showed her a photo, and she was off to the races!! Washed my hair and finished the cut (including styling and drying) in 30 minutes. I have thick curly hair, and this was by far the best and easiest haircut experience i've had in my entire life. It was EXACTLY what I wanted, and that has never been the case during past haircuts. It's exactly what I asked for! Will absolutely be going back, and recommending Donna to everyone!! Her experience and professionalism are unmatched!

I came to Kristin with a very challenging situation in which a previous stylist had left me with roots that were a variety of different lengths and degrees of blending (and banding, oof). Not only did she meticulously lift and even out my roots, but she helped blend the rest of my color so my hair came out as a cohesive whole with minimal damage. Looks like I've found my new colorist!

Been going to Kristin for a year + for my vibrant color needs. She is a true professional that has kept my color beautifully vibrant while also keeping my hair in great condition! The salon atmosphere is comfortable with excellent customer service and the staff has excellent training. This is the place to go if you want platinum, vivids, complex coloring jobs done well while maintaining the integrity of your hair.

Just got my haircut by Donna and I couldn’t be happier! We chatted about what I was looking for, what I was comfortable with, and I showed her some photos of me with prior short cuts. I LOVE the cut and feel so much more like myself, YAY! She also gave me great consultation about coloring options, which I’ve been debating (I stuck with au natural this visit). Thank you!

My daughter just got her cut w/ Donna Rae today & she did an incredible job!! She’s been chasing this curly mullet style for a while now & the last attempt didn’t end well but Donna NAILED IT!! Her fav cut so far & she’s had plenty! Highly recommend! They quickly responded, fit us right in, charged less than originally quoted & we arrived a few minutes late. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been getting haircuts here for 6 years, and these days I bring my husband around for his haircuts too. Donna Rae is wonderful. She’s got tons of knowledge and experience and often knows what I want more than I do. She’s also reasonably priced and works very quickly. I also really appreciate that Tomahawk is super inclusive and just a comfortable, welcoming place to be. I’ll keep getting my hair cut with Donna Rae until I leave NYC or she retires.

Kristin does BEAUTIFUL work. I screwed up my own hair more than once and Kristin was able to bring my color back to life. Pictured here is my hair right after I had it done and a few months later when it had faded and grown out a little. Even through the grow out phase it looked lovely. I attended a wedding right after she did my hair the first time and I recieved sooo many compliments, even from total strangers because she did my balayage JUST right. From now on this salon and Kristin are the only people touching my hair.

Was looking for a fresh look after recovering from cancer treatment. Donna Rae was amazing. She listened to what I was going for, looked at pics I brought, then showed me her vision & explained it. The location itself is very welcoming & comfortable. I am pleased with the end result & and I am looking forward to evolving my look with Donna Rae in the future.

Nothing but great experiences at this salon. Kristin does my hair and she's great with color and curly hair. I visited since they reopened in Phase 3 (post Covid) and they have great safety precautions in place. Cool, casual, comfortable vibe. Happy to support this small woman-owned business.

I love this salon so much!!! Kristin is my fabulous hair artist ❤️ she’s so great with seeing my vision and make come true. Also the owner is such a nice person, she always helps me to find products for my type of color and hair. Totally recommend it !!! They are so knowledgeable all about hair, Kristin loves to take care of her clients health hair which I appreciate so much. Love Tomahawk salon!! No chance Im losing them ever :)

I've never felt more like myself than when I left Tomahawk Salon. I've been a client for over five years. The creative vision and expert knowledge of the artists who work at Tomahawk is unmatched. Undoubtedly the best hair cut and color of my life, from conservative balayage on long virgin hair to a rose gold semi permanent glaze to more blonde. My hair always came out silky and beautiful and grew in nicely. Even on my worst days, I had amazing hair and always got compliments. The aesthetic is also great. I have seen everyone there and they are all amazing, but Kristin is my go-to girl!

I’ve been going to Tomahawk Salon since I moved to Brooklyn almost 3 years ago. Best decision of my life. I’ve always been incredibly picky about who does my hair, however, these ladies are amazing and I trust Kristin with my hair which is the most important thing to me. Kristin is amazing at cuts. I have long thick, curly hair, and have been a client of Kristin’s for 6 years. I moved out of state and tried new, local stylists, but I still prefer to have my hair cut by Kristin and traveled for the cut :) I have been a loyal client at Tomahawk since 2011 when the salon owner Chantal gave me a cut after many years of cutting my own hair. Kristin is amazing at color but you can also trust her for an amazing cut. Kristin is also an amazing person and the salon is super cool.
