Unfortunately, the stylist, Desaree, did not show up to my scheduled appointment. She did not answer calls made to her while I was sitting in the salon. Another stylist was very helpful in trying to phone Desaree and in trying to schedule me with another loctician in the salon. Kindly, the owner offered apologies and a $25 gift certificate for the inconvenience.

I had an appointment scheduled here today with Deserae at 2:30 but was never actually serviced. 30 minutes before my appointment the receptionist called me to ask if I could come in at 3:00 pm because my stylist would not be able to make it due to having to stay later at her second job. The receptionist assured me that at 3:00 pm there would be two stylist there available to service me. My appointment being pushed back was a major red flag for me because I have had this appointment scheduled for over a week. I completely sympathize with having to work multiple jobs in this economy but the stylist should be managing her schedule appropriately if she is going to be working two jobs. Why allow clients to book for a time that could conflict with your other work schedule?? And to notify me 30 mins before in my opinion is inexcusable unless it is an emergency or something unforeseen, it’s very possible that 30 mins before I could have already been in route which could of been a huge inconvenience. Despite this I decided to be optimistic and I agreed to come in at 3:00 pm. When I arrived to the salon at 3:00 I was told that my stylist Dvyne would be with me and to have a seat. I was not advised of any wait time just that she would be with me. Mind you I am already 30 minutes pass my originally scheduled time. Anyway as I sit there 10 mins pass and still no stylist or acknowledgement beyond my initial welcome. I wait another 10 minutes and at 3:20 I told the receptionist to cancel the appointment and left due to the complete disregard of my time.

I’ve been a returning customer of Too groovy for more than 10 years. Today, Oct.31, 2024 was a first. Showed up to my appointment with Asa on time, the receptionist went to his station to let him know that his client was there and this person turned his nose up, frowned, rolled his eyes and uttered, “ ion know her”. (I’m spelling like he said it) The staff was in disbelief and thought he was playing. Needless to say, I quickly asked for someone else or I would leave. Another stylist graciously asked if she could do my hair. Asa obviously has major issues, need to check themselves, and has no business being in business. Pathetic is how I’m describing him on Halloween because no professional person would dare act in the manner that he did. Just a sad representation of a male person. Make sure you know who you’re booking with before you book. Unacceptable behavior.

Love this place. Professional and skilled stylists. This salon specializes in healthy haircare, cuts, color , natural hairstyles, roller sets and much much more. I have recommended this salon to anyone whom is looking for a place that caters to hair that is textured.

Today is my 2nd time visiting Too Groovy! From the day I walked in. I was treated & greeted with a smile, care & concern. Then “MY APPOINTMENT “ Mz. Toya showed the most care & concern regarding my hair thinning. Not only has she treated my hair, but she has set a plan in motion for me going forward for my hair to grow HEALTHY! I have a new hair stylist, that I absolutely love! Thanks Mz. Toya!

I absolutely love this place! Everyone makes you feel so comfortable and at ease! The prices are fair and reasonable! Tonya has been my hairstylist and she is AMAZING! She is quick professional and very knowledge on natural hair. I have been following her for 5 years now and I refuse to go anywhere else! Tonya even did my hair for my wedding! Run don’t walk to this salon.

Overall, I have been a long standing customer of Too Groovy Salon. Zay is my go to stylist, but there are plenty of great options and availability. Their operations over the years have shifted, but ultimately in favor of the customer experience.

I have been a client of Tonya's since she left Super Cuts. I have followed her from place to place, because her talent for color and care for clients is worth it the journey. I like her new space and found everyone there very friendly and professional. An extra plus is free parking right next door.

My regular stylist, Tonya Ellis, recently relocated to this shop. Tonya is great and so is the salon! It's beautifully decorated, has snacks and has free garage parking next door. Tonya has always been consistent from day one. She is knowledgeable about all textures of hair and is a cut master!! She's given me the style I've wanted for many years. Terrific salon experience! My stylist Tonya Ellis recently joined Too Groovy and I am ecstatic! Tonya is a creative stylist that can cut & style your hair to make you look your best. She did a rod set that was super cute. She is great at crochet braids or twist styles as well.

Horrible experience and will never return. So glad to see I am not the only person here to leave a one star review as there is a reason for doing so. We made a second hair appointment with this salon as the first service was really good. This time it was beyond unacceptable and unprofessional as I received a phone call one hour prior to my daughters hair appointment, and was informed the same stylist couldn’t do her hair because she was not informed of the type of style of the service? We booked 2 weeks in advance for her back to school appointment and that is a miscommunication between the receptionist and stylist about the type of service we scheduled. How on earth could she not have known that hair was needed when she has done this same style before? Someone help me make it make sense? Its an inconvenience to have to find a stylist on a Saturday in Atlanta at the last minute for a hair appointment and these beautician simply do not care. This is why it so hard to support black businesses as we simply can’t do right! I will not support them and spoke my peace on here as others were in the same situation with bad services. Simply sad.

Disappointing!!! Overpriced and exhausting. Took almost five hours just to tell me to wear the natural curl and that pressing short natural hair wouldn't look silky unless I get a perm!!!! Got wash, color (semi) and press. Press was horrible so washed it out to wear natural curl and charged damn near 200 dollars. Stylist from get go had no idea what I wanted and have multiple client's.nothing I got done needed to take that long!! Absolutely no regard for the customer. C

I was in need of a hairstylist really badly and needed a place close to my work and home and I stumbled upon Too Groovy Salon. I was last minute in booking but the got me in same day. The stylist I was pair with is Mz. Toya and she is awesome. I have booked with her twice and every time she has been amazing and helps me out tremendously with all my hair care needs.

TooGroovy has been my go-to natural salon of choice in Atlanta. My first big chop was at Too Groovy in 2007, and it's still one of my favorite haircuts to date. They always have excellent customer service and have very knowledgeable and professional stylists.
