Velda W. at Tori Bay Salon has been cutting my curly, thick hair for several years now. Before discovering Velda, I had been driving to a salon 90 minutes away because I couldn’t find anyone locally who knows how to cut curly hair properly. Thankfully, I found Velda and the salon is conveniently located 15 minutes from where I live! Every time she cuts my hair, I’m always pleasantly happy with the end result. She is very thorough and does a great cut. Yesterday, she added some color to my hair and it looks very natural!

Amy has been my go-to hairstylist for years, and I’m continually impressed by her incredible talent. She’s a true hair magician, especially when it comes to fantasy colors, but she can flawlessly recreate any style or shade. I wholeheartedly recommend her—10/10!

From the minute I walked into the salon I noticed how beautiful the salon was . I walked in and sat down and just noticed how the salon and environment was . The atmosphere is just happy and bubbly. My stylist was Amy and let me tell you she did what I asked and was very professional. She got me from black box dye to highlights in 1 session. I loved my hair . I was so surprised at how light she got me . I love it ! She is definitely my stylist for now on! Anyone who needs to get there hair done tell Amy I sent you. I went from dark in the first photo to highlights !

I recently got my hair done here and oh my god it was absolutely AMAZING! I’m not even exaggerating this was the absolute best hair salon experience I have ever had. I had Amy as my stylist and she was fantastic. She was very sweet and knew exactly what she was doing. One thing I love about this salon is that they cater to services of all ages and hair types. I am 16 and asked for skunk hair or “chunky highlights” with wispy bangs and Amy did not disappoint! She is so cool and I highly recommend getting your hair done at Tori Bay if you are looking for a super cool new look or something simple; Tori Bay can do it all!

My 16 year old daughter had her hair done by Amy. Amy was amazing and did a fantastic job! Amy was patient, kind, and did exactly what my daughter was looking to have done. She left the salon glowing! I would highly recommend Amy, she is awesome and does fantastic work!

Velda has done a wonderful job getting my hair to a better place. I got a better understanding of how to treat my curly hair and an amazing haircut I’m excited about. Looking forward to seeing her more often and maybe doing a more dramatic cut soon to even better embrace my natural hair.

I had such a wonderful experience at Tori Bay! I am chronically ill, and I had been feeling really down about my appearance but Jacquelyn was so positive and so sweet. I came in needing a low maintenance cut and color because I can't afford to have my hair done unless it's a gift. I had one small inspiration picture that I had a screenshot of, and pretty much gave Jacquelyn full creative license with my hair other than the fact that I wanted to keep as much of my my length as possible. To say that she NAILED it is the understatement of the year! She was METICULOUS with my hair and she put her heart into making it perfect and it absolutely shows! There are no words to tell her Thank you for making my upcoming wedding extra special and for giving me a gift that money cannot buy...my self esteem back! 🫶

I made a "Friday at 10 am" appointment two weeks out to see a particular stylist. When I arrived, there was a price of notebook paper taped in the window, "closed until Saturday morning" no one notified me my appointment was cancelled. Wasted an hour of my life getting there, getting back, plus the time off from work gone . Total fail.

I went to this place on a whim because the usual place I go to was completely booked and I had to travel out of state the next day. I don't know why I trusted Google reviews and should have just trusted my gut for their lack of social media presence. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place and I will not be coming back. I asked for a balayage, got charged for a balayage but I got a full head of highlights that looked nothing like what I wanted instead. Everything I showed the stylist, Velda, apart from the haircut was just not what I asked for. I showed 2 pictures for reference, ran through and picked out the colors with her, explained how my hair toned from previous stylists, even showed her (because I've grown my hair much longer post-partum so you can still see it on my hair), and it still somehow got lost in translation. I sat there for 4 hours (between her smoke breaks, she definitely smelled of cigarettes each time she came back) and had the most mediocre of results at best. She was so condescending with the remarks and questions she had about my hair. The only reason why I paid for this service was because I'm not a cheap person 🙄 and I still think people should be compensated for their time but I definitely think I overcompensated for the lack of skill. I paid $250 for something I wasn't even happy with. Normally, I would give a salon a chance to get this right, but I wanted to leave this review to be transparent about my experience here for others to see. Definitely take your business elsewhere.

Velda is a godsend for curly hair! I recently moved to the area, and I’m so glad that I found her. I just had a baby, and she took the time to make sure that I felt rested and rejuvenated, and she gave great advice to keep my postpartum hair healthy. She made me feel like family, and she is very knowledgeable about best practices for curls. I will definitely be back and will be sure to recommend her to all my curly girls!

Last time I got a balayage was out of the country, so I have been looking for a stylist in the local area. A friend of mine referred me to ToriBay and I am so glad she did! Tori was my recommended stylist, and she was so thoughtful, assuring, and patient with me. She listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered just that. I felt comfortable asking her questions and trusted her process. I have very dark, thick hair and Tori was able to give me a balayage with my desired ashy brown tone without using bleach. Ask her about it! If you are thinking about doing something new with your hair, Tori S is the stylist for you.

Velda is has been styling my hair using the Deva cut method for a few years now. I wouldn't trust anyone else but her with my hair. She is attentive and current with all the trends and always tells me what looks best whenever I want to make changes. I recommend you go see her if you're a curly girl like myself :)
