Arial was AMAZING! I booked a facial for myself yesterday and had my appointment today. Arial happened to be the esthetician who was available at the time I wanted, and she was exactly what I needed. She was very knowledgeable, kind, and professional. She made personalized recommendations based on my skin issues, and I knew I was in great hands. I hadn’t gotten a facial in YEARS, and now I can’t wait to go back and continue with the great skincare that Ariel provided me. Thank you, Ariel!

I can't say enough good things about Richard! His blowouts are perfect every time and it is so enjoyable to talk to him during our sessions. If you have especially frizzy or curly hair and want a sleek look, he will help you out. On the other hand, I would rate my color appointment with Bethany 0/5 stars. I scheduled an appointment for a Balayage with Bethany in December and she proposed that I go with a highlight instead based on the hair styles I wanted to achieve. I agreed and she bleached/toned my hair. The toner she used left parts of my hair orange. I showed this to her in the mirror and she toned my hair again to correct it. After the appointment, I found out that Bethany had charged me for a Balayage and extra toner. This didn't sit well with me and I struggled to fall asleep that night knowing she had intentionally overcharged me for a service I had not received AND charged me for the extra toner that was necessary for fixing HER mistake. I called Tricoci the next day and came in for a color correction with another stylist who told me the application had left my hair streaky. Richard was there to save the day with another fantastic blowout after my color correction. I talked to management and they refunded me the money for the color services I received from Bethany. To Bethany: I work in client services, as I mentioned to you during my appointment, and I would never charge my clients for a service they didn't receive and also expect them to pay for my mistakes. Regardless of how long you've worked at Tricoci and your experience level as a colorist, I would expect much more from someone working at such a reputable establishment. Do better.

I have been a Tricoci Salon & Spa Chicagoland customer for over 10+ years. I always look forward to my appointments downtown with the dynamic duo of Favi and Erin who make every appointment feel like a luxury experience. From the moment I walk in, the staff makes me feel so welcome and cared for. Favi is an absolute genius when it comes to blonde color—she listens to exactly what I want and consistently gives me the most stunning, dimensional, natural balayage color. Erin works her magic with my cut and styling, leaving me with the freshest, most polished look. I recently had an appointment at Tricoci. I wish I could say it was everything I wanted but it was unfortunately disappointing. I had 5-10 minute conversation about what I wanted with my hair and how I expected it to look but my expectations were not met whatsoever. I booked for highlights and a haircut+blowout. The haircut and blowout did not disappoint, it in fact lived up to my expectations and left me feeling so beautiful. But the highlights were the part I was most excited about and it’s so disappointing that I wasn’t left with the outcome I wanted. My highlights are only apparent at the very front of my face, and the back looks like there’s nothing done. It gives an odd look as if I dyed random front pieces of my head and left the rest my natural color. Other than this issue, the people were kind and friendly, very conversational and it was pleasant to be in the salon itself.

Syrina is a really good masseuse. She listened to what I told her that hurt the most and did her best to help me get out of pain. By the time I was done with my session, I felt like a brand new person. Thanks to her.

Endia is a fantastic esthetician! I have been going to her for over a year and followed her to Tricoci from her previous employer. She is well versed, professional & thorough. She is willing to listen to your skincare concerns and provide viable solutions. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a long term skincare partnership ✨️

I have gone 3-4 times for a haircut, color, and/or blowout. Always leave very happy. Previously I’ve used Vera for a cut and blowout and absolutely loved her work. Yesterday I had Eileen for just a wash and blowout and she was amazing too. Both gals gave me exactly what I wanted and are super kind! I love coming here

There are several reasons why I’m leaving a low rating: 1.) the reserving an appointment process: I very clearly explained what I wanted done to my hair, and the representative asked me if it was a single process or a double process. I told them that I didn’t know because I’m not familiar with hair processing. They make an appointment for a double process. Then they ask me again what I wanted done to my hair and I explained it a second time. Then she asked a second time if I wanted a single or a double process to which I replied again I don’t know what’s involved in making a silver strip in my hair and so I don’t know if I’ll need a single or a double process because I don’t know what any of those things mean. So I get to my appointment and the woman who is my colorist then tells me that I can’t do any of those things to my hair because that would require a single process, and the appointment is only for a single. So we make a new plan for a different vision for my hair. Fine. During the consultation, I made my clear to her that I wanted a warm brown chocolate color. She understood perfectly as she reiterated it back to me. She finishes all of this by 4:30. At that point she says that I have extra time to wait between appointments. It was my understanding that my next appointment was at 5pm. So a little surprised that we had finished early but I was of course willing to be flexible and wait. Well the next stylist didn’t come get me until 5:30. So we had an extra hour during which she could have processed my hair the way I wanted it. Then I showed the woman who was going to cut my hair the style I wanted. She did not execute what I asked for at all. Although she did diffuse and bring out my curls, she didn’t give the shape and body that I wanted. I am so very unhappy with my entire experience. It was as if the people who took my reservation, the colorist and the cutter were all not interested in what I wanted. The colorist was not focused and rushing. Why? When we had an extra hour. I left the salon crying. So now I’m sitting here devastated with the way my hair looks. I’m so upset. Going to have to wear a hat for a while. Not worth half of what I paid for.

10/10 Walked out with what I completely wanted done on my hair, Naomi and Alexa/Alexena ( I believe her name was ) Did a 100 out of 100 Job on my hair. The salon was very professional and the Stylists there were Completely professional and made me feel like home ❤️. I will 100% be returning in the future.

Great one-stop-shop. I love that I could get my brows done while my hair was processing. Single process with Talia: she's great. Super friendly, quick, and knowledgable. Colour was even and glossy afterwards. Brow tint with Michelle: highly recommend Michelle - we only did a brow tint but we spent the processing time talking all things skincare and treatments. Left with a few great recs and perfect brows. Conditioning treatment and blowout with Raven: LOVED chatting with Raven! She was thorough with understanding what product to use on my hair, and have me the biggest, bounciest blowout.

Colorists: Naomi Hair Stylist: Amarilis Pedicure/ Manicure: Brooklyn D (Specializes in Nail Art) My first time going to this location and I was extremely happy very satisfied with both appointments made at this location. The place was clean. The front desk staff was very professional. The salon manager Nate was helpful with a slight situation that was quickly resolved. The hairdresser Amarilis is excellent hairstylist and the Colorist’s Ms Naomi is simply the bests!! Thanks again and have a Wonderful Holiday, see ya in the New Year!!! 🌲🎅🎉🥳🎊

I am someone who always checks reviews before making any decision. I believe this practice helps me a lot, and I try to do the same favor for others. I chose to start treating my hair with Nelida because someone I trusted recommended her services and shared examples of friends who achieved the perfect blonde color while keeping their hair healthy and growing—like my hair used to be before some mistakes ruined it. After waiting for six months, I finally scheduled an appointment with Nelida. I explained everything my hair had gone through and what I was using to recover it. She listened to my concerns and provided me with all the information and treatment options, respecting my hair's limitations. I remember walking into the salon feeling ugly and sad, completely different from the confident and happy woman I used to see in the mirror. Today, after following her guidance and recovery program, I left the salon feeling incredibly happy and satisfied. I’m so grateful that words can't fully express my appreciation in this review. What I can say is that I felt special and well taken care of during my first visit. Returning today, I realized that being a client of Nelida's is not just about the money; it's about receiving true satisfaction and care. I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you!

I arrived 5 minutes early and checked in for my 4pm appointment and waited until 4:35pm before the person finally took me to the seat to start my service. They also mentioned they had a 5pm appointment right after mine was supposed to end, so they rushed through my pedicure to finish by 5. According to the website, this was supposed to be a 45 minute appointment including a foot massage, but my service was clearly rushed through to make up for lost time. There wasn’t even any acknowledgment of being over a half hour late. I would have left without completing the appointment if I didn’t have a credit that was expiring and I had to use. If I was 35 minutes late to an appointment, I expect I would be charged a fee and have my appointment cancelled altogether. But if the salon is running late like that, I’m expected to wait and pay full price plus tip. The person at the checkout desk asked me twice about leaving gratuity and then added $12 as tip until I had to correct her that I would tip $5. Apparently the iPad doesn’t work so you have to verbally tell them the gratuity and even then they might not get it right. I cannot believe this entire experience even happened because it was so bad start to finish.

I scheduled a facial and it was terrible. Worst facial ever - felt like she just covered my face with a towel for 1/2 the appointment. I did talk to management and they gave me a slight discount but I won’t be back again for a facial here.

I was treated to a 100min massage. I received that. The massage was top tier! The massage therapist, Ygasi saves this “spa”from receiving a zero star if I could give it. Ygasi’s hands get 5 stars—technique out of sight! The long and short of it is that the customer service is seriously lacking! Customer service is the #1 trait when you’re in the business of dealing with someone’s mind and body. There was no care here. I arrived 15mins before my morning appt. I clearly was their first appt for the day. I checked in at one of the kiosks with no problem, walked through and there was no attendant or associate in sight at the desks or in the women’s locker room. I came back out searching for someone to assist me and decided to approach a stylist who was doing her “client’s” hair. However, before I could get to her, the client got up and came behind the desk to check me in. So, the associate was the one getting her hair done who told me that when she got to work, her hair looked a mess. Really? Although I’d checked in at the kiosk, the associate asked me all of my info again, asked me who I was there to see— isn’t this all on the screen, ma’am? At this point, I’ve checked in 2x. She does the quickest run through of the locker room and tells me to come back out in this other area (bc the attendant is not there yet). She basically skiddaddles back out the door before I could ask her anything further, so that she can finish receiving hair services. By this time, it’s past my appointment time. I tried to hurry back out to waiting area… only to wait for another 10mins for water. There was no water setup yet, just glasses. The back of the spa’s lights were out which I found out later was the steam room and showers? I could’ve used those amenities had someone told me about them—especially since my actual service didn’t start until about 35mins AFTER I’d been checked in! While sitting there, I’m seeing at least 4-5 employees rolling through seemingly late. Clients are coming and going with their therapists or stylists. The cherry on top…? I was escorted into a real live hot box/closet. The ceiling was super low. I felt like Alice and Wonderland. There were beads of sweat on the therapist’s face and head before he even started my session. The music kept changing octaves during the massage. I’m 5’8” and when adjusting my legs for stretching, my toes were on the actual ceiling!!!! We had a rocky start, yet Ygasi is the saving grace of this story. Unfortunately, I will not patron this Mario Tricocci “spa” again. On top of all these things, the space is a tad outdated and does not give spa vibes at all. I’d heard a similar complaint about customer service, but this was a “gift” and thought that maybe that person’s story was a fluke. So unfortunate, that It was not.

I've been coming to Mario Tricoci for over 25 years now and have been seeing Rico and Nelida the entire time, Rico for the cut and Nelida for the color. I can't begin to tell you how amazing they both are. Every time I get a cut and color, I get compliments from my friends and co-workers, some even saying I look 10 years younger! Rico is a master at giving you a cutting edge cut and always listens to how I want it to look when I want to change things up. Nelida consistently nails the color and delivers extremely natural results. She doesn't hesitate to adjust the formula when needed to make sure my stubborn gray gets covered while making sure to match my natural hair color perfectly. I'm always very satisficed when I leave the salon and I can't recommend this dynamic duo enough!

Renata is an absolute GEM!! I was so nervous coming into my appointment following a couple of traumatically bad haircuts but I left Renata's chair feeling better about my hair than I have in years. She was incredibly kind and professional, validated my concerns and anxieties, listened to what i wanted, and communicated with me throughout the service and made sure I was comfortable with the choices she was making. It was by far the best experience I've had with a stylist in an absurdly long time and I couldn't be happier with the end result. Thank you again, Renata!!

The massage was ok. I did my nails and the girl took less than 25 minutes, she don’t clean my nails, she just paint them. It was 75 dollars just for painting some nails because she don’t take absolutely anything off my nails. Terrible, I think it’s so expensive just to paint some nails.

Went to get dip nails done at the salon and although the environment was friendly and welcoming, the service was HORRIBLE. Two of my nails didn’t have the same coating- giving it a lighter color. The next day almost all of my nails chipped and one tip completely came off. I’m extremely disappointed, especially with the price I paid for the service. I went in with high expectations and was left extremely frustrated.

Can not wait to come back for another facial with Ariel. She picked up on exactly what my skin needed, gave me the best facial of my lifeeeee, and sent me home with amazing products to maintain that GLOW. So glad I booked with Ariel on a whim because it was easily the best facial I’ve ever had, plus she has great energy and was so lovely to chat with!

Erin is the best!! 100% recommend you get your haircut from her! She is amazing! Hannah also does beautiful color! Love her! Unfortunately, today I had my hair color done for the second time by Nelida and confirmed that she only seems to have time for her preferred clients. If you aren’t, as I was not, she will start late, rush through your appointment, literally SLAP some hair color on your head and send you on your way. My color looks OK but my face is stained everywhere, not just my hairline. For what she charges, go somewhere else.

Very nice salon however the past two times I’ve been up charged very sneakily for haircuts-first time the hairdresser I chose wasn’t there, so I was moved to a different person. When I paid I realized she was $25 more than the selected stylist. I feel like this should be told to me before the cut? Last week, I got a haircut and the stylist decided to flat iron the ends without me asking. Upon check out I realized there was a $20 up charge for styling.. If I had known this I wouldn’t have had her do it considering I was just going home and had no need for a 2 minute flat iron. They should be more transparent about what you’ll be charged for BEFORE you leave and pay.
