Amazing experience and really affordable! I did the 30 min float and a 45 min massage after and both were incredibly relaxing.

Great place for a float. This location also has yoga. The energy is good here. Nice relaxation room for before and after your float.

Customer service is key and can make or break an experience. Staff is incredibly rude over the phone and do not have good phone etiquette skills. I found that with my experience they did not know how to speak to their cancellation policy well and when trying to speak to them and assure you’re in alignment and that they have everything they need to properly assist you, they simply hang up. The atmosphere just has not been the same since the remodel. Their rooms are very small now and the way the pods and shower are situated, you have little room to dress without running the risk of getting your clothes wet. The pod is also smaller now. One of their best features in my opinion were the larger pods and the size of the room prior to remodel felt more spa like. I will say they have a great rain shower

It is sad to see this place go down. It used to be my safe haven. Went to try out the new pods. When I was ready to go back, they had just finished having an electrician work on the pods because they were down. Finally went back and there was no light in the room. According to the young gal, "our motion sensor doesn't work sometimes". Also, I agree with some of the other reviews. The new pods are too small. I'm petite and kept hitting the wall. I will not be going back again.

There are some wonderful things about this place. I love the Oasis room, and their prep rooms, they definitely get me relaxed! But unfortunately it seems like something usually goes wrong in the float - a couple of times they forget to start it, meaning no music and the lights would remain on (before they got the new pods) so I’d have to get out and go ask. Another time they forget to end it so I ended up going for almost two hours while my boyfriend waited wondering what happened. I tried to like the new pods but I can’t stand them. They’re way too small so it gets too hot and I’m bouncing off the walls the whole time. Plus their music and lighting settings keep changing. Personally, consistency is something that’s important to me, especially when I’m trying to unwind. Not to mention, when you’re ready to cancel, you have to give them at LEAST 30 day’s notice to cancel your membership. The staff is usually pretty nice and friendly, but the last time I went in the girl at the front asked why I cancelled my membership. I told her due to medical reasons. And she unfortunately pried and asked me more questions about my medical diagnosis. This made me extremely uncomfortable, especially after I just got done floating and didn’t even wanna talk at all. It was weird. I had some good floats here but don’t think I want to go back.

Love this place! My wife and I thoroughly enjoy floating here. So glad they have a south Austin location. Personally, I prefer this location because their pods are a bit larger, which is nice for taller folks. The staff is always welcoming, professional and friendly. The facility is always very clean and well stocked with everything you need pre- and post-float. The meditation room is also very nice.

Awesome float center in South Austin! The staff is warm & friendly and there to answer all your questions. The facility is clean and has a warm & welcoming vibe when you walk in. I had a great float which was an amazing way to start my trip to Austin. Make sure to spend a little time in the zen room after your float & enjoy some tea and vibe out.

This was a hidden gem. I went in with a friend to detox from an EES session and had a lovely float (they even got us in early) and then chilled out in their zen room watching the magnetic mandala maker near their salt wall. Definitely worth giving this one a try.

Avoid at all costs. I went here for a day pass and they kept my credit card on file, charging me for all sorts of fraudulent transactions, even though I never set foot in the place again! Outright theft and fraud, which I have to use my credit card company to battle since nobody for true spa will even call me back. I have to think someone in this company is going to jail soon.

I wanted to love this place so much. The receptionist was very kind and the experience itself was ok. But it was all ruined, while I was floating, about 5 minutes before it was over, i found an earplug floating in the water. At first I panicked and thought I'd lost one of mine, but i was horrified when i realized mine were both in my ears and I was holding a random strangers used ear plug. I was disgusted to say the least. I also noticed, once I turned the lights on that there was A LOT of mildew on the walls of the chamber which would explain the smell as well. If they kept this place cleaner, and cleaned the chambers after every use I would give it 5 stars. Needless to say I won't be going back.

This was a super cool experience. If You haven't given it a try, You should! The entire process of scheduling was smooth and they provide all necessary upfront details. The facility was nice, organized, and clean. It was very relaxing as they had incense, low lighting and tea. The floating experience was totally relaxing. If You like meditation, this is similar but intensified. The two receptionist were lovely, informative, and friendly. I totally recommend this!

Went for my first ever float. Left super disappointed. How am I supposed to relax with mildew all over the walls? I thought my senses were to be deprived, not enhanced with a musty smell. Being in there felt gross. Wish I could get my money back.

Wow. I just had SUCH an amazing experience at True Rest Float Spa. The ambiance is incredible, the amenities are clean, the staff (especially Missy!) were so friendly and kind - I don't think I would have changed a thing. Well, except I would have left myself more time to enjoy the oasis room after my float! Everything was explained so well, we had delicious tea, they had all the helpful things (comb, dryer, lotion, etc) and it was such a relaxing and healing experience. THANK YOU. I will definitely be back.

*EDIT November 2023*: I feel like I should modify this review at this point, because the floatation tanks have become a bit rundown over time, and it doesn't seem like anything is being done about it (I hope I'm wrong, there). The tanks are now really showing their age, with mildew in certain spots, chipped or missing paint, big gaps at the exterior seams, exposing parts that used to be sealed off, and it seems like possibly their insulation is not what it used to be. I say that last part because now, more than I've ever noticed in the past, there is a lot of condensation that builds up on the inner roof of the float tank, which then unfortunately drips down on you while you are trying to be relaxed/meditating/spacing out/etc., which takes you out of the experience. Sometimes the droplets just hit the water, which you will only hear, but other times they hit your hands, feet, or even your face, and it's definitely not ideal. This used to happen rarely, if ever. But it has become increasingly common. Aside from that, there are some minor issues like loose faucet handles that practically come off in your hand. They really just need someone to go around and do some general maintenance, and of course some upkeep or replacement of the tanks. Other than the aforementioned things, the rest of my original review still stands, and I hope they get these things sorted out. Original Review: True Rest Float Spa - South (formerly Zero Gravity Institute) is amazing! It's great for frequent floaters and people who are trying it out for the first time. The float tanks are large and in no way claustrophobic. I've read and heard that the tanks here are the best in the city, and arguably some of the best in the country. The staff at this location is great. They are very polite, friendly, and welcoming. They are always ready for you at the time of your appointment. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than about 3 minutes after arriving. They are good about making sure you have everything you need to have an enjoyable experience and it's very easy to schedule appointments in person or online. I highly recommend trying out floating in general, but especially at this place...it's truly an incredible experience!

The staff member who gave us a tour was great at his job- explained everything perfectly so I felt comfortable with what to do as a first timer. The space was clean and calming. I felt so relaxed afterwards. I highly recommend it!
