Yuki is a precision hair stylist. He will grant you a full hour to ensure a look-your-best cut. Very few in this business possess his acumen. And for the guys with less hair, don't look any further. He's got it down to a science.

Yuki is amazing! I absolutely LOVE my haircut! It’s so hard to find a place that’s not crazy expensive for curly hair in the city, but on top of that he was SO attentive and kind. I came in for a bit of a dramatic change and he took the time to talk me through it and we settled on what would look best. Would def recommend him for curly cuts, he does layers so well!!

Thank you Yuki for making time last minute for an appointment to do my hair! I loved how it turned out! It was simple and elegant and held up for the evening. I really appreciated the attention to detail and opinions you shared, asking about my dress, jewelry, etc I was going to wear to make sure my hair was going to look great from the bigger picture. Wow the best short hair cut ever! I don’t think I’ve ever been satisfied with a short hair cut until I got it done by Yuki. I showed Yuki some photos of the short hair style I wanted. He advised that since I have thick hair (and a lot of it), he suggested the optimal length to avoid a triangular-looking bob (which is exactly what I wanted to avoid from previous bad haircuts). I am so satisfied with my hair cut. I’m definitely going back to maintain this short length. Thank you, Yuki!

Yuki is such a wonderful, expert hairstylist! He is very kind, thoughtful, and careful-- he looked at my photos and asked me great questions about my preferences.He communicated each step with me to make sure I got a very high quality hair cut and the perfect color that suited my style and wavy/curly hair. I always enjoy spending time in his salon listening to his great music selection and enjoying the peaceful space. He also gave an expert men's cut to my boyfriend. I highly recommend Tsumiki salon!

10 stars! I was previously getting my hair cut at Fox & Jane but wasn’t “in love” with the haircut for the amount of $ I paid. It was okay, but not AMAZING. I decided to try Tsumiki hair because I always walked past it and I’m so glad I did. I just came out of a haircut with Hiro and couldn’t wait to get home and write this review. My hair looks so good and she styled it so nicely after the cut. Yuki and Hiro are both so professional, talented, and nice! If you’re looking for the best haircut you’ll ever get and a place with personality, this is it. The space is minimalistic, but warm and inviting. You won’t feel like you’re just another appointment being rushed to fit the next person in. Normally I’m nervous about getting my hair done because I’m picky, but I can’t wait to come back here as soon as I need a trim. 😄 (My boyfriend also got his hair cut here for the first time recently and his hair has never looked better.)

I adore Taumiki Salon.. hairstylist Hiro is an absolute master of curly hair and color, and I trust no one else with my curly tresses ! One major plus is that this salon uses all organic hair dye, which is gentle and has an array of absolutely gorgeous colors . A hair Appointment here is relaxing as well , with great jazz playing as you sip delicious green tea and prepare for beautifying . I highly recommend Tsumiki salon , ask for Hiro she is a queen of hair !

I called and asked if they had an opening. Yuki was open and accommodating. He knows what he is doing. He asks you specific questions to make sure he knows what you want your hair to look and feel. I love my haircut. Thank you, Yuki!

I had a great experience at Tsumiki. I asked for a scalp treatment with shoulder massage and a blow dry. Hiro was fantastic. She’s a very experienced hair stylist. For the scalp treatment, Hiro applied an oil she prepares with lotus flowers that has a very subtle and soothing fragrance. It’s a very relaxing experience that calms your senses and your scalp and shoulders feel rejuvenated. She styled my hair beautifully too applying excellent hair products as well. Yuki is also very welcoming. Their prices are also excellent and the vintage decor makes this small salon very cozy. I’ll definitely visit them again soon for root touch up and hair cut.

I've been seeing Hiro at Tsumiki for years--she is so caring, taking her time to perfect each cut and making sure her clients feel beautiful. I highly recommend this salon for wonderful, affordable and stylish cuts!

I’m pretty picky about haircuts (because I have weird head shape?) but Yuki nailed it effortlessly. He’s the best one I’ve ever encountered in NYC (after my 2-year regular hairstylist left the city last year, sadly). I thought my old stylist was already unbeatable, but hell no Yuki is on another level, the master type.

Yuki is an absolute artist. Like many people, I always have reservations with trying someone new. However, my best friend (with AMAZING hair) has been seeing him for ten years - she did not steer me wrong! I wanted a subtle and bleach-free balayage and a haircut. My hair has been virgin for over ten years and I was pleasantly surprised that Yuki actually advocated to not color my hair because he loved my natural color and I didn’t want anything drastic. I haven’t applied color to my hair in over ten years because of dye-related trauma in my teenage years and I was concerned about damage. The products and process Yuki followed totally restored my faith in the industry. The salon is quaint and gorgeous. I was offered my choice of fresh tea and decided on white. It was served to me in a large porcelain mug. I also found parking right across the street from Tsumiki. I couldn’t have felt more comfortable if I tr I relocated to North Carolina a few years back, but plan to travel back up to the city specifically for him.
