I came here for a simple trim, but felt very uncomfortable when she kept asking exactly how much in inches to take off. I said I wasn't sure exactly, but I wanted to keep the length and only wanted a touch-up to highlight my layers. She seemed confused and said a trim was the same as a haircut. I don't think she knew what she was doing, and the men waiting for a simple buzz cut didn't make me feel more encouraged to stay.

Jackie is an amazing hair stylist and goes above and beyond for her clients. She’s been cutting my hair for over 5 years and there is no one else I trust to cut my luscious locks. Her price point is amazing $25 for a men’s haircut which I’ve been telling her she truly should be charging more $30-35. If you want a great haircut by a kind woman go to Jackie! Make sure you tip!

My 2nd time here. 1st time is Jackie 2nd time is Thi because Jackie recommended her and spoke highly of her. I loves the result of my hair! Both ladies are amazing! They know what they are doing. Just sit back and relax and let them do the magic I will be back for sure. Thank you Thi and Jackie!!!

Jackie is one of the kindest souls I have met in SF. She gave me an amazing haircut, saw that my neck was very tense, and proceeded to give me a quick massage so that I do not get more knots. I let her cut my hair however she pleased, and she did such an amazing job. I have curly hair, which is a little harder to cut right, and even harder to find a barber that will do so. Jackie is hands down the best person I have gone to for a haircut. I wish I could grow out my hair in a day just so I can go back and get another cut done by her. Please go to her to get your hair cut!!!

I liked the person but not the haircut. Google lists the price as 16$ for a men’s haircut but it’s 25$.

Jackie did some layers on my hair and perfectly nailed the reference photos I showed her!! She’s very genuine and friendly, I loved talking to her. She also put some great curling product in my hair and even gave some hair oil to my sister who wasn’t even getting anything done. The price was super affordable and leaves a lot of room to tip the stylist which I highly recommend!! I’ll be going back to Jackie for as long as I’m here in SF :)

I can’t recommend this salon enough! Ive always been happy with my haircuts here and the price is very reasonable. For reference, my hair type is fine and straight/wavy and I typically get shoulder length layers or shorter. I am a regular with Jackie, shes such a sweet person and talented stylist. The salon does mens cuts too and two of my friends have gotten mens hair cut here and liked it. Twenty 89 is a staple of neighborhood here by the panhandle!

Jackie is awesome! She was able to see me on short notice on a Saturday evening, and she didn't have other clients after me (and I wasn't in a hurry), so she really took her time and great care with my wash, cut and style. The cut came out awesome, and she even offered to curl my hair for free the next day for an event I was attending, after I confessed how bad I am at styling my own hair. I usually feel very awkward making conversation with hair stylists, but she made me feel instantly at ease, and conversing with her was lovely. And as others have stated, her prices are extremely reasonable, especially given her skill level. This was my first time at Twenty 89, but it definitely won't be the last!
