I chose this salon because I thought it was small, simple, tasteful and close to my home. I put my trust in Janell and I'm not disappointed. I was guided by her cut and color suggestions and everything was perfect. I met a passionate woman who put me at ease from the very first moment and throughout my session. Thank you Janell.

Kristiana is the absolute best. I moved an hour and a half away from New York City, but the 3-hour round trip to have Kristiana do my hair is well worth it.

I’ve been going to Twigs for YEARS now ! To say that I am spoiled is an understatement. Kristiana is the absolute best and always takes into consideration my wants and needs when it comes to my hair. I was so tired of people just chopping it all off but she does a great job at maintaining the length and getting it super healthy. I also love the icy blonde color that she has come up with for me ! Highly recommend !

I liked my sister's look after her haircut was done. She looked so young. It was done by this good salon. The service was exceptional plus the cost was very reasonable. Will definitely go back again!

I’ve been seeing Jenna here for my color for the last few years. No matter where I move in the city, I still go to her. The salon is friendly and cozy, and who can complain about a glass of wine while your color is sitting? My favorite salon in all of NYC. (For reference, I have long blonde hair.)

Awesome awesome awesome place!!! Absolutely thrilled to have finally found *the* place that I can trust with my hair. For years and Yeats my hair grew until I could no longer bear it (so much hair in my face), and then--buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz--it all comes off and the process starts all over again! Thanks, Kumi, we've finally broken the cycle, and--voila!--who knew my hair was shareable!?! Super stoked...!!!

Go see Julie! She is fantastic and saved my hair who someone else totally ruined. I did not even have to cut it. She is an absolute professional and takes care of you 100%. Her color correction was totally amazing and I had a great time too;)

I have been going to Twigs for, forever now and am always THRILLED with the magic that is worked by Julie and Stacie on my hair. These chicks are highly skilled at what they do with my fine curly tresses. But last night something crazy happened: Julie used her new “hair painting” technique on me…I’m obsessed! The blonde is beautiful - lots of tonality and the best part is that there’s not going to be the obvious regrowth factor with this “painting”. Super psyched, besides I got to got to hang out with Julie ☺ I highly recommend anyone who gets highlights to try it or Twigs in general for any of their hair needs!

Julie is amazing! Julie is one of the founders of Twigs, and I will not let anyone else touch my hair. I send everyone to her, and even my mom is now a loyal customer. Julie can work on any hair--fine and wavy (like mine), thick and curly, short, long. She is a miracle worker, and she will teach you how to best care for your hair. Some of her homeopathic suggestions make such a difference. Not only does she have an eye for cuts, but they grow out SO WELL. And she has an artist's instinct for color--definitely go to Julie for either single process or highlights, and she spends quality time and gives VIP care to all her clients. Julie also finds amazing techniques and products from all over the world to bring to Twigs. She uses ground-breaking "Shrink links" for hair extensions that leave hair so much healthier than alternative methods, and she finds hair products that no other salons seem to have--like Label m--to make Twigs' offerings unique and high quality. The salon itself is darling--you'll feel like you're at a 60s mod ski lodge, and more often than not one of the hairdressers' adorable pups will make an appearance. I can't speak highly enough about Julie and I will love her forever!

Twigs Salon is a freelance-based salon which is home to a collection of very talented stylists. I've been going to Ruthie Hummel for almost five years now - she's the best. If you're looking for a friendly, warm, affordable hairstylist, you can't go wrong with Ruthie. She's great at both cuts and color and is very knowledgable when it comes to recommending products as well.

Here's my single best NYC tip: go to Twigs and get a cut from Ruthie Hummel. She's super friendly, very communicative, very creative and talented! The first time I saw her, I went in with only a vague idea of what I wanted and came out with the best haircut of my life. It's been just as good every other time, too. My two favorite things about Ruthie, apart from the sheer genius of her cuts, is that she's very easy to talk to, and will also do in-between trims for $15. Such a bargain.
