New customers, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take your business elsewhere. Upon finding this salon, I was elated. It can be tough to find reliable places in Hyde Park for loc services, and my experience with this business only confirmed that. Don't be fooled by the website-- it looks very well organized, and my experience with it was straightforward at first. I scheduled on 4/26 for a 5/17 9:00am appointment using the website, receiving multiple confirmations via email and text. I even set up an account, as I was anticipating being a repeat customer. On the morning of my appointment, I showed up to an empty salon. A few minutes after the start time of my appointment, another stylist showed up and thankfully allowed me entry, thinking that my loc stylist should be showing up any minute. However, after texting her on my behalf, she requested that I call her directly (which I had already done, and texted). She revealed that she was no where near the salon and wouldn't be until 11 am. She offered to fit me in later that day, which wasn't something I could swing on the fly. She quickly got an attitude with me over the phone after I simply requested a refund, and claimed that it was a glitch with the website. If you scroll through these reviews, it seems I'm not the only customer that has experienced this 'website issue'. I was insulted by the way she interacted with me on the phone, given that this isn't a new problem. She basically hung up on me after insinuating that this ordeal was my fault. It is the responsibility of the business owner to ensure that they have their website/business organized and together, but it didn't seem that way to this stylist. This was a very long winded way to say STAY AWAY. There are a few negative reviews about this buried in the good ones-- the issue hasn't been resolved, and you WILL waste your time. It's unfortunate, because I don't doubt her skills-- but now I can't rebook here on principle.

Came all the way from Atlanta to get my locs repaired and the service was amazing. Got in the chair 10 minutes after I got there and she was able to bring life to my locs, which I had thought of cutting off previously. Thank you so much and can’t wait to return!

Vanessa was so helpful and knowledgeable. I came in with a hairstyle I absolutely hated and she quickly refreshed my hair and gave me knowledge on how to maintain it in the future. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Vanessa is really gentle and professional. She gives good tips or locs as well. She started doing my hair a couple months ago, & i haven’t been to anybody else since. She doesn’t have that awkward silence or talk TOO much either lbs Very understanding too.
