The customer service is really disappointing. I'm seldom approached and asked if I need assistance, which is frustrating, because the makeup gets overwhelming if you aren't sure of exactly what you're looking for. Today I made sure to come in when the store wasn't particularly busy, and multiple employees rushed past me and never once even acknowledged me. One employee kept coming over and looking to see what I was doing, then hurrying away as soon as I looked over, before I could ask anything. I finally just took what I had to the checkout counter and left. I would have liked to have bought some primer and eyeliner, but I'm going to try Sephora.

A little bit prices, but you get the product you need the service and advice as needed. Believe me I am not a cosmetic guru... Lol! I need advice from those who are in the know.

I just got done shopping at Ulta. I was impressed by a cashier named Morgan. She was using 2 computers to check out customers. Very impressive. She deserves a raise or a promotion. Bravo Morgan! You’ve set the standard high for customer service 👏👏🙌

I've always enjoyed coming to this location because of the excellent customer service, but today my experience was a bit different. I asked a makeup attendant a question, and while she responded, she didn’t even look up from her phone. I understand she may not have meant any harm, but this doesn’t reflect the high standard of service I’ve come to expect here.

WOW what can I say. I made my appointment two weeks before, was so excited. My stylist was 20 minutes late and the other stylist were questioning if she was coming in at all. When she arrived and I was in the chair she said she had to walk to work. While we were talking she started sweating. She put a test strip of bleach in my hair and said she would be back. A few minutes later a heard an argument going on and things hitting the floor. Another stylist said someone just pick that stuff up. MY STYLIST JUST STORMED OUT, while I have a bleach test strip in my hair. Soon the manager came to me and explained that there was nobody to do my hair. The test strip was washed out and I was sent on my way with a wet head. I was told that the bleach didn’t take so there was no difference in my hair color. Wellllllll guess what? They lied!

Customer Service was disgusting, to say the least. This included the store manager, which may explain while the associates provided such poor customer service. I was not greeted upon entry. When I sought assistance, I was treated as though I was a bother. I love Ulta, but I will not patronize this location again. I think they cater to customers who fit a certain "look" which is quite discriminatory, and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Emya is Ulta's best kept secret! What a beautiful, young lady inside and out. She is genuine, knowledgeable, and professional. She has a passion to help people and wants everyone to look and feel good about themselves. Thank you, Emya! Although Emya is no longer at Ulta Beauty, I was provided excellent customer care this evening by Megan! She listened to me and then made suggestions. I appreciate Megan's professionalism, listening skills, genuine care, honesty, kindness, and authenticity. Keep up the great work! It doesn't go unnoticed.

The store is impressively clean and well-organized, which I truly appreciate. However, I had a less-than-smooth experience with a return. The new cashier was polite but seemed unsure about how to process it, which caused a bit of a delay. When the manager stepped in, I expected the situation to improve, but instead, they were somewhat sarcastic, which made the experience feel less welcoming. I understand everyone has their off days, so I’m chalking this up to a one-time issue. Overall, the store itself is great, but the customer service during my visit could use some fine-tuning.

This is a very nice place. It is always well stocked and the people that work there are very nice and friendly. I had an incident today though with one of the older associates there where she was just a bit rude, and she put the wrong zip code and misspelled the name on something I was sending out to another state. After I asked her if I get a receipt, she said, "I SAID you would get a receipt in your email!" It wasn't very nice how she said it, and I've never done that in there before, so I didn't know that. Luckily, I waited in the parking lot to see if it was going to come, and it did. That's when I noticed the 2 errors. I went back in and talked to another associate whose name is Morgan, and she said she would cancel my 1st purchase out and did it all over again. She was very nice and informative and asked questions to make sure she got it all correct. I really appreciated that. She also explained that I'd get my refund for the 1st canceled order back in my account within 3 days. So, if you want to ship something from there, the Newport News, Virginia Ulta store, please see Morgan. She will do you right.

Wife loved everything about this place (was like a kid in a candy store). As a bystander (male) I wasn’t ever approached by any of the several (15+) employees, there was no attempt to talk to me about any type of health product for my skin, hair, or anything for that matter. Of course I would’ve liked a place to sit as well, as I imagine I’m not the only spouse that goes with their loved ones into a store they have 0 interest or knowledge in. Anyway don’t think it would hurt for employees to engage the customer.

Me and my mother came here the other day looking for one specific item. No one was around to ask. When they were they walked away and offered no help. They grouped in the front of the store having conversation and when we “interrupted” it seemed as though we shouldn’t have. We aren’t your stereotypical beauty customers they may seek or have and we felt that.

This store is run so poorly!! Always a new group of sakes people who know absolutely nothing about their inventory or how to work the register. Yesterday, I had to help the girl ring up my purchase. Last time the sales person told me to go take a picture of the sales add and bring it to him. What?????? You can't make this stuff up!! What in the world has happened to good customer service with polite, knowledgeable people to help you??? So sad!!!

Very VERY rude worker with long braids and glasses. Worker was talking to another co worker and my sister was trying to get a perfume bottle out of the case. When my sister caught her attention she replied “give me a second”. When she got done with her convo, she walked over and said “now imagine someone pointing at you and saying can you get a perfume out of the case” and gave my sister a nasty look. Like isn’t that your job?? My sister did not ask her rudely AT ALL and definitely did not “point” at you. She was simply trying to grab your attention. We walked right out.

i came in here on october 4 around 3-4pm and i was looking to find a new foundation and had no idea what to get. robin came up to me and literally saved my life. not only found the perfect foundation, but they knew their stuff because of their past experiences! not a lot of people know their stuff and perfectly execute like robin did! please give robin the acknowledgment they deserve and a raise. i trusted their judgement because not only was the makeup wonderful on them, but got me right for my concert a few hours after this ulta trip. foundation, contour, blush.. literally everything T-T and with the products robin used i 100% bought every item they used on me. i used it today for work and i 100% will trust robins opinion every single time.

I will say that every time I go here I feel like I am meeting with old friends. The Ulta location at 12080 Jefferson Ave. Newport News, Va. They take such good care of me. Adrienne does my hair to perfection every time and Codey does my waxing to perfection as well. Today Robin matched me for foundation and I felt like a new person when I left. Thank you ladies for being you and always making me feel special.

My experience at ulta beauty ( 12080 Jefferson ave, Newport News,va) with adrienna w incredibly disappointing. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and tense. Adrienna seemed disinterested and barely acknowledged me as a customer. Her attitude throughout the appointment was rude and dismissive she didn't bother to listen to what I wanted and instead imposed their own ideas without any consideration for my preferences. She infact walked away while I was asking about hair colour Moreover, their lack of professionalism was evident. They spoke curtly, making me feel like I was inconveniencing them by being there. Overall, I left the salon feeling humiliated and frustrated. I wouldn't recommend (ULTA beauty 12080 Jefferson ave, Newport News,va ) to anyone looking for a pleasant salon experience. Customer service and respect should be fundamental in this industry, and unfortunately, they were sorely lacking here. I tried talking to manager as well but they didn't hear me out instead supported her ill manner employe, she left me crying and I'm so traumatised after this won't be able to have confidence before walking in any salon fear of judgement will always haunt me
