I attempted to reach the salon several times to reschedule my appointment, but my calls went unanswered. Despite leaving multiple messages with my phone number, there was no response. This experience has been quite disappointing.

I was in town visiting my mom, and needed a last minute haircut after I missed my appointment with my regular lady. Thankfully Aundrea was able to squeeze me in on short notice. Haircut and blowout look great! I'm very happy with it.

As a salon owner I am extra choosy when it comes to trusting someone with my hair. I visit Santa Barbara all the time but it's been years since I had a trusted stylist here. Sima is an absolute genius and if I could I'd whisk her back to Nashville with me! She so expertly developed a plan for both cut and color that she knew would fit my style, face shape, lifestyle, and profession and I couldn't be happier. There's nothing like the confidence that comes from great hair and I am so thankful to have found this gem. I will be back as soon as I can!

I found this place going through online reviews and I am glad I chose Underground Hair Artists. My stylist was Sima and she was amazing, kind and patient with me. She did a great job both cutting and coloring my hair. She took time consulting and discussing to better understand what I wanted and delivered it. I got a layered haircut and then blue/purple balyage... Defintely recommend this place!

I rarely write reviews, but I have to share my awesome haircut experience with Sima. Let me start by saying that I'm a 27 year old man and moved to Santa Barbara last year. I've been struggling to find a haircut facility/artist that could cut my hair the way I wanted. I tried a couple of barber shops and salons prior to this one, but was never truly satisfied until I now. Sima was awesome from the moment I stepped through the door. She offered me coffee and listened to my requests while providing feedback. She asked lots of questions and made sure she fully understood what I wanted. As she was cutting my hair, she explained what she was doing and the effects of each cutting tool and technique she was using. After the haircut, we finished up with a shampoo, head massage, and a styling. One of the best haircuts I've gotten in a long time. I will be making her my exclusive stylist in Santa Barbara. I paid $50 + tip and it was worth every penny.

I have been seeing Vanessa for 6 years now. I came to her for some serious rescue after I stupidly tried to home bleach and tone. She consulted with me for a long time about what my "dream hair" is and long term goal to recover from the damage. She started out with serious deep conditioning and toning to make me un-orange for the next couple visits. Then in the ongoing years, she would use only non-bleach coloring, and we would have fun with purples and greens etc for festival season. Because of the damage I had done, the hair was brittle and wouldnt grow very long, but she would always give me a cute style that worked for me as we grew out the damaged bits. 6 years later, after loyal patronage and advice from her, I have my dream hair: long, healthy, and has been a multitude of colors since then. I also have difficult fine, but thick curly wavy hair and she has suggested easy to use products and techniques that fit my low maintenance style. She is truly a hair artist, wizard, guru, and a delight to be around. I have total hair ADD, so I will often come in wanting to do something crazy, or not have an idea at all. Vanessa will give me unbiased advice about my options or fun ideas she has that will satisfy that itch without me regretting it later. I recommend this place to everyone. The reception staff are friendly and accommodating, and the free beer or glass of wine is such a nice perk! You guys rock!

The Underground is excellent. It's comfortable, has great music and everyone is friendly and helpful. Fay does a great job on my hair, and I frequently get compliments after a visit. On top of that, you can't beat the scalp massage during the hair wash, it wipes out any stress from my day.
