As a fellow cosmetologist, my actual experience in the chair was so pleasant and my stylist was so sweet, as were the ladies at the front desk, asking me what I'd like to drink and checking on me during my visit. I even booked my followup visit 8 weeks out, and tipped my stylist. However, the color service i actually received went terribly wrong, and 4 stars removed for the way they handled offering to fix it. My inspiration pic (I gave several, but this was the final one we decided on when the owner came for the consultation before assisting my junior stylist with the color formula.) isn't even in the same realm or similar to how my hair turned out.... Okay, not sure what happened, but it happens! The owner Rocky literally said during the consultation "it sounds like you're afraid of getting too dark" to which I agreed with, yes, I have no interest in being dark... I wanted to stay a level 8 and go "natural redhead" aka copper gold. Obviously the formula isn't that. Not the end of the world, I wasn't mad, just bummed, and the text support folks said they spoke to the owner and she offered me to get it fixed via lightening and recoloring, free of charge. At this point, I'm still bummed that I'm going to have to damage my hair again , but at least they're willing to make it right. I would have done the same thing as a cosmetologist myself. We booked my followup visit to get this fixed, and I also requested a call with my cosmetologist to clarify some things before coming in (the people texting with me for scheduling don't seem to be cosmetologists, so their answers weren't as technical). During this quick phone consult, the cosmetologist said it actually would be an extra $100 to fix this, contrary to what I'd already been quoted, due to "cost of product" but she said she'd double check. Later that day, the texting team changed tones completely and said since I have thick hair, they're charging me $100 for product. Again, I expressed I'm a cosmetologist so i know the cost of a tube of color, how much color my hair needs, and could literally pick up the tubes of color they planned on using from Salon Centric or whoever their distributor is, at cost (it wouldn't be $100). All this time I kept asking (6 times) for the manager or owner Rocky to give me a call since the texting team was not understanding what I'm talking about, and started getting an attitude. I truly wanted to find a solution. I never got a call, and was eventually told "if they're not calling you, I don't think it's ever gonna happen". I. Am. So. Bummed.

I love everything about this salon from the beautiful staff, gorgeous owner to the way I feel when I walk out after every appt. I decided to go to someone closer to my house and after 4 months I couldn’t take another disappointed glance in the mirror as I was leaving so I drove a little further and I’ve been smiling since the second I left. There isn’t a salon that offers beauty services, any hair service and the best dang extensions anywhere in North TX WENDELLA you are a Hair Rockstar Love what you created Rocky - it’s every girls dream

I love unicorn hair salon! The front desk is so sweet and attentive, as well as the management. Always checking up on you making sure you’re ok. I come to get my hair cut and candy is the best! She is so detailed to the small touches I always come back. It’s hard to find someone who can cut layers well and she is a pro.

I feel scammed by this salon. I was extremely unhappy with my hair and they had me come back to try to fix it, but I was still not satisfied, so I sent them the following: Being a difficult customer makes me very uncomfortable; usually I would just allow something to bother me rather than to complain. And being that I already complained once, this makes me extremally uncomfortable but in total I spent $3,025 at your salon, and I feel like I should be overjoyed with my results for that price. Ultimately, I feel like the hand tied extensions were not the right method of installation for my hair, and they were chosen because they were the fastest and easiest method for the hairdresser. We did not talk about different types of extensions offered, she just told me she was going to use the hand tied extensions and that was what she wore. After the installation, I asked for a mirror to see the back, and she brushed out my hair and took a photo to show me the back. Upon arriving home and seeing the back in the mirror, I was extremally upset and called the salon. I feel like she knew it looked bad and let me leave the salon anyway. I do appreciate you having me come in to attempt to fix it, and the additional hair you provided, but I feel it still does not compare to a job well done the first time. When I was there, you told me once I wash the extensions that they would blend better, so I left again not 100% happy with the product thinking it would get better. Once I washed my hair, it did blend a little better, but it still looks very obvious where my hair ends, and I just have one giant awkward layer. Even when I curl it, it is noticeable. I came to your salon to get extensions as a treat to myself to feel amazing about my hair,  but instead I walk around super self-conscious about my hair all day, worrying people are looking at me noticing that it looks bad. I'm open to your suggestions, but I feel taken advantage of, and at this point I just want you to take them out and give me a refund. They left me a voicemail that OBVIOUSLY they couldn’t give me a refund because of the “luxury brand” of the hair (what?). When you make my hair look so bad that I am embarrassed to wear it, you should take it out and give me my money back. Adding a bag of hair didn’t hide your horrible work, it was like putting a bandaid on a bullet hole The photos in the black shirt are from the first day and the pink shirt are after they “fixed it.”

I loved the environment and atmosphere. Everyone was nice and accommodating. I had Eva and this is my first time with her, my hairstylist from my old town recommended her and I was pleased with her service. She was thorough and patient while I looked at different shade of color I was deciding between.

First of all, I was greeted by excellent customer service right away. The drink was just right. Even if there were some adjustments and I was given an earlier appointment than normal, it's okay because I got what I wanted. Reagan did a fantastic job. She guided me through the steps and made a few recommendations that I found appealing. Additionally, the atmosphere felt more like a cozy home than a salon, with everyone being welcoming and friendly. I got what I wanted from Reagan, and I looked amazing when I left the salon. Unicorn Hair Queen is the greatest, and I recommend it to everyone.

I came here for hair extensions and it was my very first time getting extensions. The manager was very professional in explaining the payment options and making me feel welcome. Pamela is amazing and VERY experienced the consult was fast and she was able to book me the same week. Not only was she incredibly efficient my hair looks amazing! I had some hair loss from 4 years bleaching. I am a brunette just wanted to have extensions until my hair gets healthier and grows back on its own. Would 10/10 recommend scheduling is flexible, service is great and the quality of the Remy hair is top notch!

I drive 50 minutes to get my extensions done by Piper and totally worth it! I was looking for someone who would be honest and realistic about my blonde, fine hair. I had too many rows and wefts in the past so we went down to 1 row and I’m so happy! They are easier to shampoo, less damaging and she doesn’t install too tight. Also, it’s worth it to get the membership and go every 6 weeks, because over time paying for the move ups can get pricey!

I had a lovely experience with Lauren. The salon has a fabulous vibe. The ladies at the front desk are very nice & accommodating. They were so lovely & helped me find a time to get a very lovely facial. Lauren is very knowledgeable about facials & skin types. I really enjoyed the massage too at the end. I will be back to try microdermabrasion soon.

I’ve been coming to Unicorn Hair Queen Extensions for almost a year now, and I can’t recommend this salon enough! I get micro bead hair extensions, wash and blowouts, and occasionally a full highlight. The quality of the extensions is top-notch—after a year, the hair is still soft, full, and maintains its volume beautifully. My go-to stylist is Jazzy. She is absolutely amazing and always makes me feel like a queen! While every stylist here is highly skilled, I definitely have my favorites. The store is so cute and staff is so sweet!!! I got my hair done with Avery and she is amazing !! Best salon experience I’ve had!
