Avoid this Hair Salon at All Costs! Save yourself the time, money, and emotional distress by avoiding like the plague. With an owner who treats customers with such contempt, it's no wonder this place is empty. Trust me, there are plenty of other salons out there that will actually appreciate your business and treat you with the respect you deserve.

Had a great experience. Mila was so hospitable and my stylist Margaret is magician when it comes to hair styling. I highly recommend Universal Hair Salon if you're in Manhattan. Pricing is also affordable.

Mila did a fantastic job of cutting my hair! She is friendly, listens to your needs and gives great tips on the type of cut that suits your hair type! Will definitely be going back. She even fixed a disaster haircut I had done at another salon within 20 mins! Highly recommend her, she is a lifesaver!

My hair has a natural curl. Not every stylist I’ve used can do a good cut—one where all I need to do is wash and blow dry. Mila excels at this. And the salon has a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Yes Mila is a wonderful stylist and hair artist. She knows what she is doing and fixed my long layers, blending them nicely, after a bad cut somewhere else (not an in expensive place either) where they gave me unblended “shelf” layers and damaged my fine hair with thinning shears. She knew how to help, understood the issue and made my hair look blended and smooth, taking her time to get it right and not taking too much length in process (just as I asked). So glad. I know it will continue to grow out beautifully now!

I can't say enough good things about Universal Hair Salon or Mila, who I've been going to see for more than 10 years. I started out with Mila when she cut hair down in the East Village, and I followed her uptown because she's that good. Always a fantastic haircut—and she's super friendly and easy to schedule appointments with. Strongly recommend—especially for other male clients looking for scissor cuts.
