I 150 percent recommend Joel if you are looking for professionalism, I never have to wait, he is always courteous and happy to oblige, very flexible and wonderful, the environment is also very pleasant. If you had 10 stars to give, I would give the 10.

I definitely recommend this place! Joel did a beautiful job. He suggested something better for my hair type better than what I wanted. I have fine hair and the cut and color came out great!!!

Joel is very kind and professional. If you are looking for a great haircut, color or highlights, he is the one for you. He has been my hairdresser for 5 years, and was my Mom's for 15 years, and I will follow him anywhere. Although Joel is booked for months in advance, he will always do his best to fit you into his schedule and he does! Not 100% happy with a haircut or treatment, he welcomes you back to fix it and makes sure you leave with a smile on your face. His assistant Meyla is amazing as well. Great team work! The salon is very clean and everyone is very nice and professional. The Cuban coffee is not so bad either... Matty S.

My reference for the salon is five start, I have been visiting the salon for more than 9 years, the treatment of the salon owner is very professional and friendly My stylist Joe and his assistant are fantastic , always willing to meet the demand of their clients and leave us very satisfied. The experience is always amazing, I haven’t found another stylist and a better salon in Miami

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I got a haircut here last weekend and have been debating posting a review but think I would be doing girls out here a disservice if I did not share. Safe to say this was the worst hair cut of my life. I wanted long layers and long face framing pieces and as left with the choppiest cut I’ve seen. My sister went in to Up on Sunset a day before me and just yesterday did a tone (at another salon) and the hairdresser said she had never seen a more uneven cut, so, she fixed it as a favor. For reference I went in with healthy, long, waist length straight hair and after the cut was over the hairdresser had the audactity to tell me “NO HAIRCUT EVER LOOKS GOOD IF NOT STYLED” because I think he saw the fear in my eyes. I was in disbelief. Now I have the most random short pieces of hair in the middle of my head, a choppy bang and, not to mention, the left side of my hair is longer than my right side. This person (who was bragging to me he was fully booked) literally ruined my hair.

My sons and I get our haircuts with Joel. His attention to detail and patience is amazing. You never feel rushed when sitting at his chair. His assistant Meyla is wonderful and handles all appointments directly with the client. They are an efficient team. On the days I can't get into see him, Nilda does an amazing job at blow drying my hair. Overall, the salon is clean and all of the staff is friendly and welcoming. A must try!!

Have been coming to Up on Sunset for over 20 years!!!! My manicurist Luisa is beyond the best. great service and great quality for both manicure and pedicures. She is as particular as i am for cleanliness and ensuring nails not only look good but are healthy!!!!!

I was referred to Luisa at Up on Sunset more than a 15 years ago. I was so happy after my first appointment I've been loyal ever since. She is the best manicurist I've gone to. Luisa is one of the few who takes pride in her work, always on time, detailed oriented and a pleasure to talk to. She uses the best products, and gives the best mini, foot scrub massages when I get a pedicure. She is typically in high demand, so book your next appointment with her early. You won't be disappointed.
