I really wanted to love this salon, esp after reading all the great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was bad from start to finish. I’d scheduled a 4pm appt for a trim and blowdry—and I made it clear that I was in a bit of a hurry, as I was meeting my date at 7:30, and I still had to go home, put on makeup & change. Three+ hrs should have been plenty of time! Also, I asked the price of a shoulder-length trim & blowdry when I made the reservation—I was told they do not give pricing until I’m at the salon. Felt a bit arbitrary. I arrived for my appt punctually at 4. My stylist, Arleth, did not take me to her chair until 4:40pm. At that point I said forget the trim, I’ll just have the blowdry with a little flat iron for curls. My hair is straight, fine, shoulder-length, it usually takes me 15 mins to style. My stylist Arleth was sweet, I’m just not sure why she spent so much time coaxing a curl with a round brush, when she knew she was going to apply the curling iron at the end. I feel it made the process unnecessarily lengthy. She finished styling my hair at 6:10–styling took almost an hour and a half for a simple hairdo. OK, fine, it is what it is. After styling I went to pay and I was told it would be $62 … for a blowdry!! I asked why so much when I did not get the trim, and I was told … wait for it … because your hair took so long to style!! How’s that for adding insult to injury!?! Still I added a 20% tip, bring my total—for a blowdry—to $74!! I went to pay—I was in a real hurry now—but the credit card machine was down. The cashier explained they were having trouble with it and told me the way around it is to put my credit card on file for future use. At that point I knew I would not be going back to Urban Betty, so I said no, no card on file. So they emailed me a link for payment … that didn’t work either, even after multiple attempts. I left the salon concerned that I’d be charged multiple times … and of course I was slightly late for my date. And my hair? It was fine. My curls stayed curly for the evening—a success given my super straight hair—although I did not love how it fell on my forehead. My overall experience was not good. I will not be going back.

If you go to Urban Betty SoCo… see Arleth!! Wowza this is the best blonde balayage and layered haircut I have had since moving to Austin 10 years ago. She is meticulous and intentional with every move she makes, and she takes time to understand your inspiration and vision. She proves her expertise and I will be seeing her from now on. Thank you for my glow up, Arleth! And for spending your Sunday evening with me!

Samantha is a true magician with hair! I walked in feeling a bit dull and walked out feeling completely transformed. She brought back my vibrant red, and I feel like myself again—confident, bold, and radiant. Her skills are absolutely unmatched; she knows exactly how to make color come alive. Not only is she a phenomenal colorist, but she's also such a joy to chat with. The whole experience was fun, relaxing, and left me with a huge smile on my face. Vanessa is the best! I used to see her at the 38th street location and now drive the extra distance to see her at SoCo. I've tried other stylists out who do a good job, but not like Vanessa. She always cuts my hair and blows it out perfectly. I recently started doing toner with her to cover my premature greys and she's done an amazing job! If she sees a reference photo, she can recreate it perfectly. She's also great about choosing colors and cuts that compliment my features.

America was AMAZING! It turned out so much better than I could have imagined. She made my “vision picture” come to life. It was the first time I wanted short hair and she made me feel like I made a great choice! Thank you again and highly recommend her and Urban Betty!

Didn’t do my color at all the way I wanted . Literally no difference. Paid $500 for them to wash & cut my hair so choppy (“curly cut “) exactly why I don’t go to hair salons. Overpriced for no reason . My hair didn’t even feel soft or look good when I walked out. My bf paid & didn’t want to say anything but he definitely should have ! I wouldn’t have been ok with that amount if I knew. 0 stars .

I booked a haircut appointment with Danielle and was super happy with the experience and the end result. I was looking for a new stylist, so after a little bit of online research went with Urban Betty since it was close to my home. Danielle was very sweet and gave me exactly what I wanted. She was quick, so soft in her touch including when blow drying my hair. Needless to say I will definitely be going back when its time for my next haircut. The place is very cute too, and they offer you all kinds of beverages which I thought was awesome!

I came in with a same day appointment for a hair trim and Acasia was amazing! She listened to everything I had to say about my hair, asked me lots of questions to understand me and my hair! I have very long but fine hair and she handled my hair gently! I can’t wait to come back for my next trim! Pricing is on their website and it was very affordable for the service I received! :)

I recently had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Danielle, and it was an incredible experience. She was extremely attentive and truly listened to how I wanted my hair to be cut. The result was exactly what I envisioned, and I couldn’t be happier. After searching for the perfect salon, I’m thrilled to say that I’ve finally found it—this will be my forever salon thanks to Danielle’s amazing work.

Jess freaking kills it EVERYTIME. I’ve been seeing her for 4-5 years and I can show her a few pictures for inspo and she makes it come to life. I’m a mom of two and she gives me that flirty, bouncy hair that doesn’t even need much upkeep. Thanks Jess!! ❤️

Jess was incredible! It was our first appointment together and didn't have any real expectations before going. She blew me away with her product knowledge and helped guide me to the right ingredients I should be using with hair products for my type of hair. The cut, color all turned out fantastic and she really was knowledgeable, caring, and experienced! 10/10 recommend

Book an appointment with Vanessa G ASAP!! She is amazingly talented, super kind, and knowledgeable! I have gotten my hair cut with her for a while now and she nails it each and every time! Love that she is so consistent. There is nothing like leaving the salon genuinely happy with your hair! I just can't say enough great things about her! Of course the front desk staff always provides superior customer service as well! Will be a customer for life!

Erin and her assistant stylist were amazing! They made my service quick and easy, and were both super nice and helpful. I really love my color and how soft my hair feels. I would 100% recommend urban betty for any hair needs. I’ll definitely be back to see Erin!

I came in for a haircut, conditioning treatment, and blowout and Danielle did a fantastic job! She gave me a haircut that looked exactly like the pictures I showed her, plus she blew out my long, thick, wavy hair in less than 45 minutes. I highly recommend booking her!

It was my 1st time visiting this salon. Overall it was a pleasant experience . Abbey was my stylist . She was a good listener and had a great eye for the best cut for my shape face . I’ll definitely be returning :-)

I’ve had one of the best and one of the worst haircuts in my life from Urban Betty. I really wanted to love this salon but I am so disappointed with the inconsistency of the results. It was absolutely not worth my money or my time.

Danielle is amazing! She gave me the PERFECT bangs! She is extremely kind and easy to talk to and really listens to what you say/want. She also gave me some hair product recommendations too! Danielle even went above and beyond and helped me get out the parking garage I was trapped in. Will definitely be returning!

I spent a grand total of 45 mins in this salon and can honestly say it was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. First of all, securing a same day appointment for an emergent bang trim was so easy and effortless over the phone. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and provided with a very tasty sparkling water to keep me hydrated while I waited. Ellie was my stylist - she was personable, professional, and provided me with tips on how to keep my bangs in check. The exceptional part of the experience was how Ellie addressed a potential inconvenience that occurred prior to having me seated in her chair. I only waited about 10-15 minutes past my appointment time while Ellie finished with her previous client, but she made it a point to authentically apologize for the delay. It was very apparent that she felt this was not up to her standards and demonstrated excellent service recovery skills, even though I was not bothered one bit by the wait time. Because of this, I will absolutely be returning to Urban Betty and scheduling with Ellie for my next bang trim! 100000/10 :)

Starting with the adorable intake form, I was completely intrigued with Urban Betty. As someone who has cut her hair exclusively at home over the past 10 years, I was a little hesitant to embark on finding a stylist. The personality was quiz totally spot on and I was matched with America. The cut was absolutely perfect. I literally could not find a hair out of place when I went back home to fully assess my new style. She was also incredibly kind and made a point to keep checking my reference photo to make sure she was cutting it similarly! Even the new front desk person was sweet as peaches and helped me with my checkout issues. Thank you Urban Betty's!!

I had such a great experience! I'm obsessed with my hair cut. Jess did an amaaaazing job. She was cool, easy to talk to, and gave me the exact hair style I wanted. Her assistant ( I think her name was Sam), was also super sweet and gave me an amazing scalp massage while washing my hair. 10/10 love this place. Booking was also super easy, and I appreciate the available parking garage. Thanks yall!
