FAITH has been my stylist for the past year Jan 2024 - December and it was always a remarkable experience. She fixed my hair but also mailed me feel like a hottie. We are open with changes an I consider her my therapist IYKYK!

I’ve been loyal to faith for about 1.5 years and I somehow come out of the chair loving my hair more every time!! From previous negative experiences and as a curly girl I am super picky with who I allow to cut my hair. Faith goes above and beyond to make sure my hair meets my desires and I’m so lucky to have found her!! Adding on to the faith love train but I cannot recommend her more

UPDATE: Still loving my haircuts with Faith. She helps me achieve whatever hair goals I come in with, and I always leave her chair feeling a million times fresher and loving my new hair. Thank you Faith and the Urban Lift team! PRIOR REVIEW: I had such a great experience at Urban Lift. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable and welcome. My stylist, Faith, listened very carefully when I told her my goals for my hair and the look I was going for. She was so kind and gave me the best haircut I can remember. I am so so grateful to have found her and this salon, and I look forward to my next visit!

faith is so incredibly talented and literally amazing! i have curly hair and have been traumatized by so many bad haircuts. since i’ve started getting my hair cut with faith, i actually look forward to getting hair cuts. she cuts my curls so well and my hair grows out nicely after being cut. also, my highlights have never looked better. i had the same person doing my highlights for 8 years. i was in a pinch once and decided to have faith do my highlights and haven’t looked back since. her foil placement is amazing. my hair is almost black but you’d never know. highly recommend the salon and faith. this is such a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable. i love it here.

Urban Lift has always been amazing and I’ve seen a few different stylists there over the years. They always have fabulously talented stylists, but I am bad at being consistent with my cuts from time to time so it’s been a little while since I’ve been back. It was my first time seeing Belle this time, and… WOW! She instantly made me feel like I had been going to her for years. She took the time to really listen to me, and her hair (and music) knowledge blew me away! I loved her recommendations for natural products (that they carry there) and made my hair feel lighter and softer than it ever has. My hair is thin which can require some extra TLC and she did exactly that; executing a flawless cut. She also does scalp treatments, which I couldn’t be more excited to go back for, and she was just so much fun to talk to. HIGHLY recommend and can’t wait to go back!

I had a great haircut with Isabelle last week! I wasn’t sure what I wanted, and she took the time to walk me through several different hairstyles and I ended up with the perfect cut. The salon itself is great too, very spacious and bright!

I have never felt more comfortable, welcome, or accepted in a hair salon before. Lisa made me feel like I could be myself and we had amazing conversation during my hair cut. The hair itself came out flawless and I feel so freaking confident and happy with how I look! Best salon in Chicago! Everyone is so down-to-earth and you can tell the staff loves working there. A friend recommended Alyssa, who has been working there 10 years. She made me feel happy and excited about my hair for the first time in YEARS!! This last time, Belle cut my hair - she was so sweet and helped me find my “hair hopes & dreams.” I don’t know how one salon can have so many talented and kind people. And the products are amazing - I never bought from salons before but everything is just so thoughtfully chosen and SO GOOD, I can’t resist. If anyone has ever had hair trauma or looking for something new, you need to visit Urban Lift!!

I can't believe I have never reviewed this place yet. I've been a customer here since 2016 and absolutely love the staff. Not to mention the whole vibe of the salon. You're greeted immediately and offered a tasty beverage. There is always amazing music on and retro magazines to keep you entertained. John, the owner, has tons of experience with men's or women's cuts and always takes the time to ensure you're getting exactly what you want. Worth every penny and they have the best products too!

I stumbled upon Urban Lift while walking home one day and am better off for it!! After having hair the color of a well-used-paint-brush, the team took me in for a color-consultation and thoroughly went over all our options to find me a new (healthy) look. Faith is a magician and a truly talented good-hearted soul!!! She weaved magic into the curtain of dark-violet shiny glory that now adorns my head. Quality service, lovely vibes and incredible humans are to be found here. I appreciated my experience from start to beautiful finish :)

Today my haircut was with Faith! Gave me suggestions I was kinda hesitant with (because of work) but I ran with her suggestion AND love my new haircut!! Everytime I visit this place IM NEVER disappointed. I'm extremely shy tho so I hope they don't think I'm awkward lol. Def will be contacting Faith soon.

I started coming here in 2022, I was so nervous after using box hair dye for years, and WOW, I am so glad I made an appointment! Faith instantly made me feel so comfortable and does an amazing job. My boyfriend also gets his hair cut here and loves it. Friendly people and great service! Highly recommend!

Amazing! 10/10 Do recommend A great, easy, comfortable yet effortlessly chic atmosphere and space. I felt very welcomed and attended to. Sometimes salons feel a bit overwhelming to walk into. Not Urban Lift. Such a warm place. On top of looking and feeling good, the haircut was fantastic! I chopped all my hair off and the stylist I was booked with originally recommended another stylist because she was more familiar with pixies. No extra wait or any issue with switching stylists! The people working there seemed to like each other and were comfortable switching clients which is awesome. A real salon staffed by a community of stylists looking to provide good service. Anyway, great cut. They listened and asked questions about my hair goals and talked through their plan with me. I have no memory for names sorry! A great time was had by all. Plus an amazing dog. Goofy is who we are all trying to be. (Apparently no memory for HUMAN names)

I had my hair colored by Faith here recently and so thrilled to have found this place. I didn't give Faith a great idea of what color I was looking for (no inspo photos etc) and yet still she managed to give me exactly what I wanted. Great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and amazing service. My hair took longer than expected and wasn't finished till 30 min past closing time. Even so they didn't rush the process at all and were very nice about it. I'll definitely be back!

I have had nothing but AMAZING experiences here. Everyone that works here is so personable, caring, and attentive! John has done my hair for the last few years when I lived in the area, i was so comfortable with him but then he introduced me to Faith! She is so warm and friendly and absolutely makes my hair dreams come true! Also an honorable mention to Belle who has the best energy, what a team!! I love Urbanlift! I started going here about two or three years ago and always received the best service from everyone! John was amazing at achieving my hair goals. It is hard to find hair stylist that make you feel welcomed and appreciated when you have thick, frizzy, long hair. He never made me feel like a burden! My last visit I decided to go outside the box and colored my hair. Faith exceeded my expectations and was fun, kind, and considerate throughout the entire experience! I love going to this salon! Rest assured, your hair is in GREAT hands with anyone here! (But I recommend my favs John, Faith or Belle!☺️).

I love this salon so much! I've been here a few times and had a great experience everytime! The front desk staff is so nice and the stylists are all so personable. I had a stylist named Belle and she is/was soo nice and comforting :) Back in 2020 I shaved my head because my hair was SO damaged from bleaching and dyeing it at home. I was super nervous to do anything to it after growing it out for a few years now, but Belle was so amazing!! Since having her do my hair I've gotten highlights, gone different colors, and cut my hair with her and I wouldn't trust anyone else. Belle is so so kind and patient. I can give her my vision and trust that she will make me look good. Thanks again to the entire Urban Lift staff for always being so friendly and thanks to Belle for always giving me confidence boosts!!

I've been going to Urban Lift for over 10 years. My entire family (including a 4 yo) gets their hair cut here. All the stylists are knowledgable, friendly, and well, cool. We love talking music, movies, culture, and travel with them during our visits. While very family friendly, it's very much an adult salon, you'll be offered a beer or water when you arrive. You'll be in very good hands if you go to Urban Lift!

It's a warm welcoming environment they listen to what you want and do their best to give that to you. Best part of all of something isn't right they do their best to fix it or come up with a plan to get you to your dream hair goal. Urban Lift is truly a special place. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I always feel so welcomed by everyone. I typically only see Alissa, Faith, or Vanessa for my cut and color but everyone here is a gem (John, Belle, Tarnim) 💎!! The salon itself is just adorable with a mid-mod vibe, great music, refreshments, and Goofy—the world’s cutest salon dog. In regards to hair, I have curly-ish, graying hair, which can be challenging to work with. When I started coming here, I was growing out my hair from a shaved head and had layers of dark box dye on it. Alissa got me through the rough grow-out phase and reversed the color damage I did to myself. Alissa, Faith, and Vanessa always listen to my hair goals and concerns and work collaboratively with me to give me the cutest hair, while keeping it healthy.
