I have been getting my haircut by Ray at V One in the last decade or so. Ray has always done a great job. I have referred family and friends to Ray and they are happy customers too. Today I took my older sister there and Ray transformed her.

I've been here multiple times for haircuts and perms, and it is one of the places I trust in Chinatown. There is little seating area, so you may have to cram if you are waiting. However they do have a separate seating area for people currently getting their hair done. The hairwashers are nice and make sure to check the water before massaging your hair. They also use good products that have a nice smell that stays in your hair for a while. I request hairstyles that are a bit hard to do, but the hairdresser always understands what I want. I do see other reviews saying they cut the hair too short, which I can agree with. Initially I wouldn't like it because it doesn't look like the hairstyle I requested, but after a couple days to a week later, the hair grew out to be the style I requested or something better that suited my face shape while also having a similar style. My experience with getting perms here is also similar, as they always have made sure the perm was correct and wasn't sitting in my hair too long. Prices are decent, very similar to other salons, but on the expensive side for other businesses in the area.

If I can give zero stars I would. My hair was better b4 I walked to this salon Gezes!!!! All I want was layers and side bangs!!!! I don’t even want to look at my hair!😡 I paid them to get my hair all messed up… TERRIBLE!!!! The guy cut my hair and never again!!! The person that washed my hair was rushing and the worst!!!👎

They cut my hair shorter than what I told them to cut. Super disappointing. They were also very demanding for a tip although the cut was not what I wanted. The hair stylist told me to just trust him when I gave him some insight on what I wanted. I shouldn’t have. At the end, I just paid and left. Never returning.

I've been going to the same stylist for the last 8 years. The entire staff is super friendly and they speak Chinese and English. I always feel fabulous when I walk out of here.

Don’t get your hair cut by Manny. He cut off 6+ inches of my hair in only 15 minutes, which goes to show how little care he put in. My haircut was extremely choppy after and I was very disappointed

I asked for long layers with curtain bangs and an ash blonde balayage and I got exactly what I wanted. I’ve went to Gary for these past years and I’ve loved my hair every time. He does an amazing service and makes sure you leave feeling great about your hair.

I've been looking for a while for a salon and hair stylist I can return to regularly, especially one that can style very flat/straight and thick Southeast Asian hair like mine. Saw a lot of great reviews for Jun so I requested her and she was amazing! She was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, knew exactly how to style my hair, and gave very helpful advice on hairstyling and maintenance for my hair type. I had some idea of what hairstyle I wanted, since I mostly wanted to remove damaged hair and not cut too much off, but I was also very open to her feedback and suggestions -- we ended up needing to remove about 5/6 inches and it was shorter than I initially expected before coming to the appointment, but the results were GORGEOUS and my hair looks much healthier. Price was much cheaper than most places with excellent value, friendly service, and a clean salon. Definitely coming back!

They gave me a price for hair dye, than proceeded to ask for 25 bucks more at the end cause it "didn't include the wash." I asked multiple times how they can have a price for the dye and not the wash since you cannot dye hair without washing at the end, and they just scolded me about how high the proces of the dyes are lol. I wouldn't mind it if that was the price given initially, but getting scammed like this is quite annoying. On top of that, they could not match my roots to the rest on the first go, and only fixed it after I pointed it out to TWO people. Would not recommend, they're not being honest up front.

Best place to get your hair done in New York City, much less Chinatown. I've been going here for over 17 years and they treat me like family. Anytime I go somewhere else I regret it and return to the people who take good care of me and know how to cut/style hair.

Highly recommend booking with Jun! Great service from when you walk in the door. Fast service with quality. Especially the shampoo service gave a relaxing neck and head massage. My hair came out perfect, exactly the color I asked for.

Sam is a true master. I have thick coarse Asian hair in a pixie cut, and I don’t trust my hair with anyone else. I first saw him in 2011 when he was still working at Salon de Tops. When he left that salon, I was devastated and scoured the internet until I tracked him down. Now I live in DC and come to NYC to get a haircut with him.

Today I decided to go and do my hair. I started googling. I can across this salon. I called first confirm they were open. Yes. Had my hair wash and then dry by a male (he was very rough in the beginning) with my hair keep in mind I'm not sensitive at all. I told him let me brush my hair (maybe not use to curling wave hair fine). Hair done not well but what can I do. When I went to pay the lady in the front asked me if I tipped them (lady that washed my hair and the male that did my hair) i was like what ??? I said to her that is very rude yes I did she still proceeded to ask still the two employees I guess overminding what I was saying even though I already tipped them individually and I told her that is very rude unprofessional it's not an obligation to tip even though I am a New Yorker and of course or New Yorkers know to tip she was very rude unkind I will not recommend that place again to anyone where is another location that you guys could go personally that I know that have better customer service and more helpful if you need just leave a message
