Larkin made my first experience at VAIN so amazing! My hair turned out just the way I wanted and I loved how Larkin explained the products being used and gave me tips and tricks for upkeep; I don’t think I’ve ever left a hair salon feeling so satisfied with the results. Just had one of my most favorite hair cut experiences with Elizabeth here at VAIN! I have really thick and wavy hair which can be hard to cut if a stylist doesn’t understand the hair type. Thankfully Elizabeth knows her stuff and brought life back into my hair. I’ll definitely be back to see her!

Ashley is amazing! I came in for a shag, with some Rick n Roll energy. She knew exactly what I wanted, and cut my curls to perfection! I am so happy with the results and will be coming back, I found my stylist and salon!

This salon is located conveniently in the West Seattle Junction. I've got complicated hair, yet my stylists Sam has given me a cut that I can wear curly or straight. They have Tinsel for your hair, so cute!

I had a lovely haircut by Hailey and it was one of the best haircuts I have received! They were super attentive and educated me on how to style my hair and what products to use. Def planning on returning :)

Got a pretty drastic haircut and I couldn’t be happier. Elizabeth was awesome. We had great conversations and she did a stellar job. The studio itself was really cute! Would definitely come back.

Sam is an awesome, magical curly hair whisperer. The salon has a nice airy feel and there's a fun selection of accessories/product to browse up front - not that I've ever had to wait more than a minute or two. Making appointments is easy, front desk staff are friendly.

5/26/2023 As a potential new customer I was unaware of the appointment system. When I called to make an appointment for the next day 5/27/2023, the following encounter occurred. I was asked my name and phone # and then for my debit/cc info. I was not comfortable giving that over the phone. Next thing I know, the receptionist IMMEDIATELY raises her voice and proceeds to berate me about policy and procedure that I'm not familiar with. As such I interjected quickly and shut her attitude down and immediately hung up w/o any further interaction. I will NOT allow anyone to talk to me or any customer the way I was talked to today. For that, 1 star. UNACCEPTABLE!

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The front desk staff are soooo RUDE to their customers. Every interaction with the front desk left me feeling disappointed and like they genuinely don't care about their customers. I emailed the company to inform them about their staff and their poor customer service which was replied with "Gina, Thank you for your input. We appreciate it." There was no recognition or apology for my awful experience. When customers are spending $600 on their hair, the least they can do is provide them with a positive experience and express gratitude. I'm absolutely appalled by the entire experience and will never go back there. WORST FRONT DESK STAFF EVER.

After years of trying to find someone to cut bangs in Seattle, I am happy to have found Misa at Vain. She knew exactly what I was talking about, asked me all the important questions before cutting, and cut in a way that the grow out would be maintainable and beautiful. I highly recommend Misa for bangs and a cut.

Downright scammy. Scheduled an appointment for my girlfriend without asking her, then charged a cancellation fee if $45. The receptionist on the phone was rude as well.

Hailey Adams is the best !! Always gets me lined up just right. The attention to detail is second to none no matter if im getting color or just a cut, the results always come out better than expected. Not only talented with sheers but great conversation skills for me a haircut is self care and therapeutic and she covers all fronts holds a conversation without feeling forced always a treat when I get to sit in her chair.

I have been seeing Elaine every 3 months now for a lightening/toner touch up of my ash blonde hair! she always makes sure to take extra steps to make sure i’m comfortable as our appointments take a few hours. she also makes sure to ask a lot of questions about what i need. really cute place and all the workers seem like they’re having fun! i love my hair!!

I’m sure this place is great with colors, but the haircuts are lacking. I came in for what I believe to be a very simple haircut. I just wanted to get some bangs, layers, and to trim off my dead ends. The stylist was very kind and willing to negotiate on my length because she knew that it was important to me. She did a very good job with the bangs and she did cut off the dead ends (which my hair desperately needed), but did not give me layers. I was a little disappointed about the layers which I chalked up to a miscommunication, but overall okay. Again, the stylist was very helpful with answering my questions and very nice to chat with. She didn’t show me the cut until after she had curled it, so I didn’t know just how bad my hair was. When I went home the curls brushed out fairly easily and I noticed just how uneven the cut was. One side of my hair is 2 inches longer than the other and the bottom is very choppy. I am severely disappointed because I have to take more length off now in order to fix how uneven the cut is. My partner came back to the salon with the photos of my ends and they told us to email the owner, which we promptly did. They only offered to have us get a cut by the same stylist (which I am a little uncomfortable with after how my ends turned out), or to wait 5 days to have another stylist fix it. I was able to make an appointment at a different salon (who even offered to stay late to fix it). At this point I am only interested in getting a refund for the amount I had to pay to fix it at the other salon, but it seems like they are unwilling to give me that. I was expecting a much better service for the price that I paid, and am left feeling very sad and disappointed. While the stylist was nice and the time I spent there was enjoyable I will never be able to justify the money I saved up going to waste.

This is now my go to salon! After a bad experience at a different place, I was wary to entrust my hair to someone again but I am SO HAPPY I did! It looks exactly the way I wanted. I was a little hesitant to ask for the haircut I wanted, a classic '00s scene/emo razor cut but Hannah knew exactly what I meant and how to achieve it! Literally so ecstatic to have my dream haircut 100/100 recommend!

Wanted to like this place, because I’m in need of a go-to place to get my hair cut in West Seattle. But sad to say my experience was similar to the other one-star reviews. I was kept waiting for 30 minutes in the lobby and ended up having to leave before I even got in the chair. Hope others have a better go of it, but I left pretty disappointed.

Well if I could say - (minus) 3 star-I would! Such a horrible policy that they implemented and not convenient to anybody. Awful-just can’t believe they do that.
