I called Vanity on short notice during covid. I was so happy she could take me because she was a private residence without additional employees. It was a really cool setting downtown in a live work loft. Her place was super professional and clean, upscale loft setting. She met me in the lobby and was super friendly. I came for a balayage color, and she Suggested i do a deep condition olaplex treatment that left my hair feeling SO GOOD AND NURISHED. Im so happy with my hair and I will definitely be going back there! Thank google for the suggestion and Thank you Amber, I LOVE MY HAIR!!

Amber has been cutting my hair since 2004 and there's no place else I can go to get this exact cut. She knows what works best with the shape of my face. If you want to walk out of a place feeling good about the way you look, check her out. The loft space is really sweet, too!

Amber is amazing. I'm a guy with a medium/long hair style, I was in town for a convention and needed to get a trim badly. She took the time to textured and shape my hair, which made all the difference. Best cut I've gotten in a while. Would defiantly recommend.

One afternoon a few months ago, while leaving my friend’s loft, I noticed that there was a salon in the same live/work McClintock building. In need of a haircut, I scheduled an impromptu haircut with the owner Amber. Best decision of my life. I have now had about 6-8 haircuts there (about once a month) and every one has been the single best haircut I’ve ever had. I’m so glad I stumbled in to this great little salon in this building and I refuse to get my hair cut anywhere else. Because my hair grows so fast and I’m vain, I have to get my hair cut often - usually every 3 to 4 weeks. In the past, I could expect one out of every three haircuts of mine to be below average. But not with Amber! She’s amazing and does a great job and I’m so happy I found her randomly and by happenstance. Couldn’t recommend her enough!

I have been a client of Ambers for the last ten years. I originally made an appointment with her on a glowing recommendation from my bank manager. I left my previous stylist because the grey would start to reappear in two weeks. Amber uses Schwarzkopf products for coloring which gives a long lasting beautiful color. Very little grey starts to show up even after 6 weeks. Amber recently recommended to add Olaplex to color process and I love it. My hair is silky & smooth and the results last till my next appointment. Besides being a knowledgeable colorist she is an exceptional stylist and I have loved every cut & color she has given me in all the time I have been going to her. To top it off she is intelligent, warm and has a great sense of humor. My time with her goes quickly and I always leave looking my personal best. As a 59 year old women I always look relevant and age appropriate. I truly don't know what I would do if she ever leaves area, she's the BEST!!

This is by far the best haircut I have received in downtown San Diego from Amber at Vanity Hair Salon. My hair is thick and grows fast so I frequently need haircuts and finally found the best hairstylist in San Diego. She gave me a tight tapered men's haircut which has grown out well and looks professional. Amber is located at The Phenix Salon Suites on 10th and A Street, her salon offers free underground parking which is a plus. I highly recommend:-)

vanity hair salon is one of the best salon in San Diago. though it is a small salon but they are really impressive with low cost. all the services which is provided by the big salon shop, all are available here with low costs. i recommend all the women at least try this salon for once. i hope you wont be disappointed.

Little know fact. Amber actually works miracles on hair. True Story. A young man went into her salon with a rats nest nestled neatly above his ears and she quickly turned that Federal Disaster Area into a work of art that got him noticed by men and women alike. She's great. She's lovely. You need her in your life. Couldn't recommend harder. Do it already. You're totally going to.

I can't say enough good things about Amber! She is so sweet, so personable, very easy to talk to and just has the most positive and happy energy/vibe about her. In addition to that she is an AMAZING stylist. She really listens to what you want but my hair always comes out BETTER than I expected...ALWAYS! So on to her her new space... I love it! She has her own Salon in The Suite Spot in North Park. Oh my gosh it is so great! Chic and stylish yet cozy. You really feel that personal one one care because it's totally private. No more stylist chatting/ blow-drying around you which can be super annoying and no more walking across the salon with a towel on head lol Go see Amber at Vanity Hair Salon and I promise you that you wont regret it! Oh and she always has a nice glass of wine ready for me the moment I arrive :)
