Absolutely scam of a place. Do not purchase a massage on Groupon because they will tell you there is a mandatory gratuity based on the original price of the massage because the "masseuse" doesn't get paid from that sale. That's not problem and their employer should be handling that.

Bought a Groupon for this place. Read the reviews and wanted to get a complete price breakdown before going. The front desk staff is COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. She kept cutting me off instead of listening to what I was saying. They leave out the part that you must pay $50 in gratuity plus taxes on the original price of the massage so expect to pay and additional $72. Now, I suggested that they maybe add more details to the Groupon site so people aren't caught off guard and to actually listen and not be rude. Her response was "All of NY is rude". I hung up and will be trading in my Groupon for something else. Highly do not recommend even if the masseuse is good, the front desk staff is sure to kill your vibe.

I had to post that , I called 3 or 4 times to make an appointment and 3 times they hung up on me 4th time rude lady ask me what do you want I was like what the hell , watch how you talking to me I am calling you to make an appointment and you guys are not even answering the phone I just wanted to ask do I need to make an appointment or I can just walk in , well realised not going there and no recommending to any of my family or friend . This place need to be shut down . Rude and disrespectful people.

I never write reviews but recently had an extremely negative experience at this massage studio. I purchased a Groupon and was looking forward to a relaxing 90-minute massage. However, my masseuse, Crystal, had no training whatsoever and was completely unqualified to be performing a massage. To start with, I was informed upon arrival that I had to pay an additional $57, which was fine. However, during the massage, Crystal told me that the money did not include the tip, which was incredibly unprofessional and left me feeling pressured to tip. To make matters worse, Crystal played music on her phone during the massage but seemed to have used YouTube, as every 15 minutes, a loud ad would begin playing. This was beyond irritating and completely disrupted the experience. To top it off, Crystal only gave me a 60-minute massage instead of the 90-minute one I had paid for. By then, I just wanted to leave and be done with the whole experience. These were only a couple of the many unprofessional things that happened. I am extremely disappointed with this massage studio and would not recommend it to anyone. I considered calling to complain, but from my experience at the studio, I don’t believe anyone there is more competent than Crystal. Save your money and your time, and find a more professional establishment.

I was neighborhood fan of this Spa. I recently found out the management changed and they raised the prices to include gratuity of almost 50% of the old prices. It's a SHAME HOW GREED CAN TURN AWAY LONG STANDING CUSTOMERS. LOOKING FOR A NEW SPA.😔😔😔. I reported their practices to Groupon. This is also Aspire Spa.

The massage was 5/5, but the service at arrival was 2/5, so this a 3.5 in the middle. The only saving grace is Juliana, the masseuse, came out from the massage and immediately had to become the front desk herself and figure out the process. The 4 star is ONLY for Juliana. MASSAGE: Juliana is an amazing masseuse and I would hire her independently. She was able to get into the muscles, she was very communicative about the massage and where to focus and altering the intensity of the massage. She was very knowledgeable about muscle tension and confirmed what I learned from physical therapists. SERVICE: This was a surprise present and all the hiccups in getting started made the interaction upon reception unpleasant. 1-I used a Groupon, and was charged MORE than the Groupon price for the mandatory tip, which I wish I knew when I signed up for the coupon I also had to pay in cash. 2- I tried to call for a reservation and was told I can come anytime 1-3pm and when I arrived I was told I can’t have a massage without an appointment, and they asked who I talked to. I said, how am I supposed to know the name of the person who picked up the phone? Isn’t that your jurisdiction? It took 20 min to get a massage started, glad I didn’t have a time crunch. 3-Their ATM machine wasn’t working and charged $7.00 for one extract, but was very glad to go across the street to a laundromat.

This place is a scam. I bought a groupon voucher as a gift for Mother’s Day and they completely ruined the experience. When my mom went there she was informed that she would have to pay an additional $58 ($40 gratuity plus tax) for her service. None of this was listed on the site or anywhere else. She was willing to pay for it cause she came a long way, but then they insisted that they accept cash only. She had no cash so she called me. I called and spoke to the girl at the store who informed me that she does not work for free. I told her several times that I paid for a voucher so the service is already paid for. She refused. Eventually she gave in an provided my mom the service after almost an hour of going back and forth.

We got tricked!!!! This company does not accept Groupon. We purchased a Groupon, and called in advance to make an appointment ( with the knowledge of us having a Groupon) they told us we can do a walk in. We came in and was told they do not accept Groupon. The owner said that she does not get a cut with groupon customers, and told us to refund the groupon and pay out of pocket for a massage. I looked at the reviews on google after the fact, which I should have done before even coming to this scam of a place. They’re using Groupon for promotion, but don’t want to honor groupon business. Unacceptable. Reporting to BBB.

I used to like this place but it’s impossible to make an appointment now. People answer the phone and say they don’t speak English and no one gets back to you when you leave a voicemail. Unfortunately it seems like they’ll be out of business soon.

This is my second visit to this spa, the first time I had a facial and I was really impressed and satisfied with it. The second was a massage that was so satisfying and relaxing . It's a small spa but from the front desk to the masseuse are very professional ,polite and friendly.

Bought a Groupon to use here and to my surprise they let me know that there is a mandatory tip that is a percentage of the original service price. Approximately $70 tip, which is more the same price as the $70 Groupon. Very weird, but if that’s your policy, at least include it either in the Groupon price or in the Groupon description/fine print. Reasoning is because “otherwise, the masseuse would be working for free.” Very misleading to advertise a price you can’t actually afford, and then only tell people after they purchase the Groupon. Even if the massage is still considered “discounted” with the tip, trying to trap people into paying double makes you seem like a shady business

I rescheduled my appointment and they took my Groupon voucher anyway! Now that I’m trying to get it back, they’re giving me the run around. Also, i scheduled an appointment and when I got there, they were not able to assist me. The front desk woman was VERY rude and told me to get out when I was frustrated about whether or not I would be accommodated

If I could give them no stars I would… I bought a Groupon deal for a massage for my sister for Christmas and they were so rude they gave her the run around to make an appointment once she mention Groupon they pretended like they didn’t speak any English they EVEN hung up on her once when she called back and asked to speak to the manager the only English word they knew was NO … this place was very unprofessional

This is going to be a long post but the TLDR is that I have been to this place three times total and had a perfectly fine experience the first two times but this third time was the absolute worst experience I've EVER had at a spa and I left feeling physically violated and incredibly disrespected. The person who did my massage wasn't even a masseuse and didn't disclose that until after the end of an awful saga there. I never post bad reviews but this simply must be shared. The full experience: I booked a 90 min massage with a groupon, as I have done before without issue. I made my appointment weeks ago and they called to reconfirm about two days before the appointment. When I arrived, the woman who was working the front desk was immediately cringy–including her running her hands through my hair in a racialized way without permission. She took me into the massage room to undress and, instead of a different masseuse coming in, she came in to start my massage and it was immediately clear that she didn’t know what she was doing. **She left my entire back body exposed nearly entire time even when she wasn't working on certain spots, she left the room numerous times, she quite literally BURNED ME with the hot stones, and after me asking numerous times for more pressure, she simply couldn't do it.** When she said we were done, I asked if that was a full 90 minutes and she said yes. I checked my clock and it wasn't. It was about 40 minutes total. When I went back to her at the desk to ask for a partial refund for the unused time since I didn't get what I paid for, she tried to argue with me (mind you this was all happening via google translate). She then said that I booked with a masseuse but she was only the receptionist so it's not her faulytthat she had to answer phones. 1) why was my appointment confirmed if no one would be there to actually provide the service?? and 2) WHY DID SHE NOT DISCLOSE THAT SHE WAS NOT A MASSEUSE BEFORE GIVING ME A MASSAGE? This felt incredibly violating. She then told me that a masseuse had just arrived and they could give me the proper 90 minute massage start to finish at no additional cost right now. So she takes me back into a new room, I undress, wait on the table, and then she comes back in and tells me that there is no one available to do the massage and that I'd be charged $30 for a cleaning fee. When I get dressed (again) and go ask for a refund (again) since I was not provided the service I paid for, she was incredibly rude and then told me to go vent to someone else. So no–I absolutely 100% do not recommend this place to anyone. Spare yourself.

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered. I received a Groupon gift certificate for the holiday and decided to make an appointment as per the website for Vega Spa. On 12/29 I called and booked an appointment with the receptionist @ Vega Spa and it was scheduled on 12/30 @11:00 am. At no time did the receptionist notify me that Vega Spa doesn’t take Groupon. On 12/30 I called @10:50 am to tell the receptionist that I’m 5 minutes away. The individual that picked up the phone stated that Vega Spa will not take any massages from Groupon and she doesn’t speak English. I thought someone was playing a prank on me. Then she hung up. I was mortified and called back several times and asked to speak to a manager or someone who speaks English. She continuously hung up the phone and stated no English and try coming back tomorrow. What do you mean tomorrow??????? I scheduled an appointment the previous day and no one called me to indicate that there was a rescheduling. If Vega Spa website indicated appointment required, then why didn’t I get notified. I’m truly appalled by the way Vega Spa conducts business and treats there customers. I contacted Groupon about this matter and I hope that customers read this review before scheduling an appointment with Vega Spa. The 1 star review is too generous. Vega spa and that receptionist deserves a ZERO!!!!

The quality of massages here is top-notch. I have had two massages from two different massage specialists here and both were better than I could have imagined. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a wonderful and highly satisfying massage experience.
