Nice looking shop but service is lacking. I gave a specific style I did not recieve. Ended up taking out the braids as soon as I came home. Braids were not sealed at the end so it wouldn't have lasted, also one braids was almost slipping out. Prices on style seat are faulty and the pictures supposedly don't match what one is to recieve. Its not like the braids themselves took that long 3 hours or less including blow dry and wash. So what is being charged is not really justified for the end result. I'm from ATL I know good braids, people from elsewhere might not have the knowledge. It took me less time to take out the braids than it does to take out my natural hair cornrows so that should tell you something. Being honest with a client with what you can and cannot do is important. Lost a potential repeat client, as maybe I wouldn't have gone for braids but another service. *side note they use the term tree braids incorrectly, now I knew this booking but I didn't want tree braids anyways at least not traditional ones, really should be using the term knotless box braids with curls. Edit: please note she is lying, more proof you should not go there, if she can easily lie like this it is sad. I have screenshots. They tried to get me to remove the review. I don't even know who smart style is. The immaturity and unprofessionalism of these girls is baffling, had she seemed even slightly remorseful I wouldn't have even wrote this review, I want to warn others to not do business with these girls. Also please do a police report, you will be laughed at as I have proof, I found this girl off style seat in june 2024. Sadly I did not book thru styleseat though I should have. Update: she never called me nor texted. I am not sure why they keep lying. Style seat does not allow you to review without having an appointment thru them, anyone who has used styleseat knows this. If you just had good customer service you wouldn't have to keep making up new lies.

The shop is beautiful as well as the stylist, love the customer service they are very accommodating they also do everything so it’s one stop shop and I will be back

Velvet was very passive aggressive throughout my appointment and did not set proper expectations for her form of payment or pricing. My initial service cost $50 for a wash, blow dry and trim. Through style seat she charged me an additional $10 gratuity off the top to book a service. Bringing the total to $60 because of “special hours” when it wasn’t any special appointment because I scheduled it within her normal work time of 10 am - 6pm. Then an additional $1.65 and another $1 all on my card to close the appointment out on style seat. Then she suggested I send her money via Zelle because the platform SHE DECIDED to operate and run her business on takes a percentage from her service which has absolutely nothing to do with the client. She kept mentioning “dont book through style seat because it does that” and I told her “ all of your times slot charge an additional fee so that was something YOU set up yourself”. She got very irritated with me and her demeanor was very nasty and dismissive when I brought it to her attention she kept trying to over talk me. It doesn’t make sense to be charged all 3 separate times. I don’t typically make reviews but I just want to bring this to anyone that intends or booking with someone like this. This was completely unfair and unprofessional. Please reevaluate proper work integrity to actually keep clientele.
