I’ve been seeing Tristan here for several years and every time I go she absolutely does my platinum blonde perfect! She also specializes in fantasy colors and her work speaks for itself. Definitely the best salon in OKC.

I would give zero stars if I could. I got eyebrow waxing done by Mel Hernandez and she literally chopped off one of my eyebrows. After I saw what she did, I was shocked and devastated. I told her she made it too thin to which she responded “yeah I can’t bring it back.” She told me not to pay her for the service and while I was still willing to pay her she said, “Rather then debating this payment, I’d rather take my next customer.” I was so shocked by her attitude and unprofessional behavior that I left. After getting back, I called the salon multiple times to talk to the manager but no one picked up. I drove all the way to this salon hoping for a better service but instead it turned out to be a nightmare. Mel never asked how I wanted my brows to be and when I told her I just wanted a natural look and only a clean up she told me “not to worry about it.” I have attached before and after pictures, what she did with them is absolutely insane. Not recommended at all.

This is my second time coming to Luciana, and I know I will never go anywhere else for my haircuts! It is apparent she is very knowledgeable and skillful as she is able to create the exact vision I picture for my hair every time. Do yourself a favor and book with Luciana for your hair needs! 🤍

I got a curly cut from Mel a few months back. She asked how I normally style my hair and I explained I'm very low maintenance. I usually wash my hair and scrunch in curling jelly. Other than that my hair is in a bun. She cut my hair all one length and now when I do my hair the hair around my face is not curly because there's too much weight. I felt like if she did some layering this wouldn't be an issue. Either way I wasn't impressed with the haircut and hate how my hair looks when I style it now. The products she sold me make my hair feel heavy and greasy. All around I felt like she was clueless when it came to my hair type, yet offers curly cuts at a premium price lol. If you have curly hair I'd book with someone else.

Okay I’ve been going to Cathrine Moon for years. When I tell you, I trust this woman with my heart and soul, I mean it. She makes me feel comfortable in her chair. She talks me through the process every step of the way and the finished product is everything you’ll hope it will be and then some. She’s absolutely amazing!!

I always go here for a cut and eyebrow shaping. Scheduling is convenient. They are always very timely and very nice. Lucy always does a great job. Would recommend!

I've been coming to Tristan at Velvet Monkey for three years. I don't even live in Oklahoma anymore. I fly from whatever state (Virginia, Texas, California) for this. It is absolutely worth it. Her skill with color is unmatched, and more importantly, she keeps my hair healthy - I haven't had undyed hair in years and it's still healthy! Velvet Monkey really is exceptional. Even if you're not looking for fantasy colors, you'll get fabulous care for any dye, cut, style, etc.

Stopped in while on vacation. They took me right in as a walk in. Everyone was very nice and the shop was cool. I was able to get a more creative cut without having to argue for it, which was awesome considering a lot of stylists will often lock horns over this. I sat with Sarah, and she took the time to really understand what I was going for and gave me just that. Located in the Plaza District, there’s a fair amount of free street parking all along the strip. My only complaint is that I don’t live locally, so I can’t come back soon.

I finally found my stylist in OKC. I moved here from another city a few years ago and have been searching for someone who specializes in blonde. I had a consultation with Luciana and booked an appointment. I got my hair done today and it looks great! Luciana is incredibly personable, nice, and knows what she is doing. She doesn't rush and I absolutely love the results. Book with her and you will not regret it!

I had a bad experience at another salon and came here after being recommended by a family member. I'm so glad I did! Not only did my wonderful stylist fix my hair she also got rid of all the dead stuff. She was also very nice and we had a wonderful conversation absolutely will be going back!

I absolutely love the team here! They are so personable and really go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with the services provided. I've worked with Luciana, Addrianna, and Justin and couldn't be happier with each of them. Luciana typically does my eyebrows; taking the time to make sure they are done right and with minimal impact to my skin. Addrianna has been cutting and thinning my hair for about two or more years now knowing what cuts will work with my face shape and helping me understand how to care for my hair correctly. She even agreed with me when I asked for a perm and led me to Justin. Justin talked through the perm process with me and the Ashley who was shadowing him that day. He talked me through each step explaining what he was doing and why which was great since it's been 20yrs since my last perm. I must give a special shoutout to Justin for his patience with me when I had a moment of panic in my "don't wash for 24hrs stage". It had been a while since I had a perm and after sleeping on it I was worried that some portions of my hair didn't take the perm and contacted him. He reassured me with instructions and assurance that if those steps didn't help he would get me back in. No need for another appointment he was aboslutely right, my perm turned out exactly as I expected. I felt terrible about having a panic moment and bugging him, but I'm so glad he was kind about my lack of perm knowledge/ I truly appreciate the staff at Velvet Monkey and am always happy to send a referal their way!

I have been here a few times. Making an appointment is convenient because you can make it online and find a date, time, and stylist , that fits your needs. Atmosphere is very chill and everyone is friendly. Parking does suck, so you have to arrive way ahead of time so you can find a parking

Luciana Gonzales!! I moved from London to the USA well over a decade ago, and I have been searching for a hairdresser that has a similar European style of cut, color and styling that I used to be accustomed to. After trying many salons I saw Luciana’s profile and booked an appointment with her when I asked her about where she had trained and worked previously she shared she had worked and trained not only in the USA but also Europe and Brazil!. She listens attentively and is an all round delightful woman, who is incredibly knowledgeable. Her gifted ability with color and the precision of her haircuts is pristine, She is incredibly talented. With her attention to detail and round brush blowouts I leave her chair feeling confident and ready to take on the world. My hair has never looked or felt better. If your hair is as important to you as mine is to me, I highly recommend booking an appointment.
