Maribel gave me one of the best trims I’ve been gotten! I have long wavy hair and it is so much easier to style and manage now. It also air drys soo well now! I’d highly recommend 💗

This is the best hair salon ever, and the staff looks out for you. One time I went in there being like “I think I want to get a perm” and the owner said “no honey, I don’t think you should do that” and patiently explained to me why I didn’t want a perm (I forgot all the reasoning, but I remember it being sound, and I’m really glad I didn’t get one). I also got the best blowout I have ever gotten in my entire life at this salon. I am always happy when I get my hair cut and styled here. I have a friend’s wedding in DC in August and I’m really sad I can’t bring them with me to blow my hair out, I just know it’s not going to be as good as when they do it.

My stylist was great. I forget her name, I'll find out when I get a trim. I went on a Saturday last minute, and they got me in. I haven't had short hair, and now it's curly. The stylist showed me how to do my hair curly or wavy, which is completely new to me. Great service and bought product, going back for a trim and more product.

I regret going to Velvet Roses. The service was terrible, and the staff was unprofessional. Save yourself the hassle and find a better salon.

All the beauticians here are really amazing. I brought my toddler here for a trim and Maribel did a fantastic job per usual🥳. I come to Cici for my hair (highlights/color/ cuts/blow out) she does a fantastic job. Cici was recommended to me by a friend who has been going to her for years and her hair is very beautiful so I had to check out Cici for myself. Let me tell you she ALWAYS delivers. Anything you request she’s got you. Don’t hesitate to come here for whatever you need done on your hair. Anyone of the salon stylists who is available at Velvet Roses can work magic on you.

I have been coming here for over 15 years. Even after moving to Long Island. I take the drive to Brooklyn. I’ll spend the $ on gas. Only place I trust with my hair for cut and color. I can honestly say I never left disappointed here. I have even done my hair with three different staff members. Maribel, Ruthie, and Cynthia. However I started with Maribel and she’s my go to stylist. I would feel like I’m cheating on her if I went somewhere else. I highly recommend. They are good with all hair types.

Ruthie at Velvet Roses is fantastic!!! I arrived in Brooklyn for a wedding and my hair was a hot mess as I had tried to color it myself. Ruthie fit me in at the last minute, put tons of highlights in, which added beautiful contrast to my too dark color. She blew out and curled my hair - I was wedding ready, compliments all weekend. Most importantly, Ruthie was kind, thoughtful, fun and good company, as was everyone in the salon. Very reasonable prices as well. Great experience - thank you!!

My go-to place for 8 years now. Ruthie and Maribel are amazing and so are the other hair stylists. Although, I have only gotten my hair done by Maribel and Ruthie, they are ALL super attentive, detail-oriented, and let you know the honest truth about how the process your about to under-go works. They are the ONLY salon I go to now. I literally don't trust anyone else. They are also the first salon I began selling my hair treatment: "HairTox Solutions" in and I could not be more GRATEFUL to have my product within one of the most popular salons in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I believe that this salon (Velvet Roses) is definitely one of the best salons in NYC . I get my hair done here every two weeks and my hair stylist Ruthie never seizes to amaze me. There was never a time I left Velvet Roses without a smile on my face. Moving to Brooklyn and looking for someone to care for your hair correctly is not an easy task and so when I found this place and checked it out, I was totally amazed 🥺❤️ I would totally recommend this place to anyone who is anxious about getting there hair done with the right place. Trust me I’ve been there and this place will not only take care of your hair but of you ! 😌

I have been going to Velvet Roses for 14 years. Both Marabelle and Ruthie are always so welcoming and always manage to fit me in (I tend to call last minute!). I even bring my 11 year old daughter to Ruthie. I can’t say enough about Ruthie. I have very fine straight hair and she does a bang up job every time. I have a cute short cut, and always get compliments on my haircut from strangers. A few times strangers have approached me in restaurants. Now I carry around Ruthie’s card so I have her information on hand just in case. The prices are fare, and the service is just awesome. Truly, you will not regret it.

I came here in hopes of finding an expert at hair coloring that is local to me. My last colorist relocated making it difficult for me to get to that location. I was afraid of entrusting someone new with my hair because i have been getting very light highlights for years, balayage to be exact and not everyone is good at this technique. I saw Cici and told her I wanted very ashy blonde babylights and as you can see in the picture, she delivered. She used high quality products in my hair and a bond protector to ensure that my hair would have the lowest risk of breakage/damage. A month has gone by and my hair is still in good condition. I’m sure it would be even better if I were to use the products that she recommended to me. I appreciated her recommendations especially because they weren’t a sales pitch, she doesn’t sell this product or make any commission from telling me about it. She also reshaped my layers without cutting off all of my length - thankfully she’s not a scissor happy stylist. The other ladies at the salon were also pumping out great looks, I actually got a recommendation to come here from my family member. I hear that Maribel is really good with curly hair but they seriously all were doing great work from what I saw that day. All in all, I will be going back and I highly recommend this salon of sweet & talented ladies.
