I recently visited Virgo Hair Salon, located in the Art District of downtown Los Angeles, and it was an incredible experience! The salon has a welcoming and warm atmosphere that instantly makes you feel relaxed. The customer service was exceptional from the moment I walked in. I had a headache when I arrived, but left feeling rejuvenated and looking amazing! Matteo provided a thorough consultation before tinting my hair, and the entire experience was fantastic. Matteo and the rest of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and skilled. My hair now looks and feels absolutely incredible. I highly recommend Virgo Hair Salon to anyone seeking exceptional service and outstanding results!

This salon is amazing! I got my haircut with curly specialist Ashley who gave me the curly cut of my dreams. They laid out clear instructions about how to arrive with my hair prepped and Ashley consulted with me in depth before cutting. She was committed to doing good work and making my vision come to life. She was kind and funny, very personable and professional. The salon itself is beautiful with very relaxing atmosphere. I am so pleased with my Jellyfish Cut and I will be back for maintenance!

I get my hair cut regularly by Chelsea. After nearly a year of not being able to find a curly hairdresser after being burned by so many hairdressers in the past, a friend recommended going to Chelsea. When I say my first haircut was the best cut I have ever had, I mean it. I came in with nearly a year of growth and damaged ends but she was soooo nice about it and not at all judgy! She's now my regular girl and I tell everyone to go to Virgo. Parking is easy, the space itself is beautiful and quiet, and everyone I have met at the salon is very sweet. It is so hard to find a curl specialist that doesn't charge obscene prices. While the price may be higher than other cheaper places, I do think it is worth every dollar for the expertise and care. Thank you for saving my curls, Chelsea! I'd give this place 10 stars if I could.

I have been getting my hair colored at Virgo for almost a year now. Everyone show works there is amazing. I have incredibly curly,textured hair with some tough gray hairs. Mateo and the rest of the team truly love and respect curly,natural hair. Each time I leave the salon, I love my curls a little bit more. They offer so many services, and I will continue to return

I want to start by saying how warm and inviting the space is, the ambiance makes me feel like I’m out of town on a vacation. On top of the welcoming and professional hospitality each and everyone provides. I’m due for a return treatment in a weeks but I almost want to come back sooner just to experience it all over. Got a men’s cut and it actually came out the way I wanted. So happy with this place.

Run from this place. I would give negative stars, if possible. My hair was butchered without apology. I paid $$$ for my hair to be haphazardly cut by an untrained stylist with no experience. I think the girl's name was Chelsea. She has no clue about different hair textures and how hair behaves. The manager denied that there was anything done wrong. Their answer to fix the horrible mistake was to cut more hair off. Be warned. They want your money, pay for great advertising (don't trust it- they are paying to have sites recommend them), yet have no clue what they're doing. Do not go here!!! Seriously. Run away quickly. Years worth of growing your hair to be destroyed by one ignorant person with scissors in a manner of minutes is unjustifiable.

Felt judged and uncomfortable from the moment I walked in. Considering their crazy precautions they require for late arrivals or cancelations I stayed. I would have been charged either way and I held out hope. My hair itself did turn out okay. The stylist was receptive. However, the experience itself really was awful. The receptionist was rude, the gossiping with the other stylists at the front desk was rude. Too "LA" for me. If that is your vibe, go for it. I didn't write a review for a long time..but here I am a month later still thinking, wow, that was bad.

Does anyone know where Shontia works at, they say she no longer works there but give no information if she is working somewhere else or not. I was referred by a friend who told me not to see anyone else but her and I have been saving up to get a curly hair cut from that stylist. :-(

They do good work, but very deceptive and poor customer service If you buy products they will bundle it together so you are tipping on your shampoos and conditioners. They do this in a sneaky way. They have done this to all our friends we sent here. They double book without telling you and are barely accommodating after the fact. Basically this place is gross vibes, but we tolerate it because they do good work

If you care about your hair even a little bit, absolutely DO NOT come to this place. I knew I was doomed when the shop owner Mateo started brushing my hair dry... The cut was so uneven it looked like it was his first time cutting hair. Don't believe the FAKE reviews on here, check their Instagram - they didn't cut any of the styles on their page. I should have noticed that red flag before they butchered my hair. When I told him it was uneven he said I was being dramatic, completely dismissing me until I left. Absolutely unacceptable service STAY AWAY!

Wonderful salon. I had a dry cut with Chelsea, she was great at everything! On time and professional, cut my hair exactly how I wanted. My curls look bouncy and voluminous with great layers. Front staff very friendly, cozy decor.

i wasn’t sure walking out of the salon how this cut was going to look once i washed it at home and styled it myself, but WOW. mateo did a fabulous job dry cutting my natural curls! the salon itself was a very nice and unique experience too. so happy to find a curly hair specialist i can trust.

super cuts quality ! My hair was healthy and had lots of natural dimension and layers and the stylist was lazy and cut straight across the bottom leaving me with a blunt chop and split ends. The salon won't refund me and now I'm left to grow out unhealthy hair. I sent in photos ahead of my appointment of what I was looking for and had received in the past from previous cuts and asked my stylist to take off as little as possible that would retain the health of my hair. She took less than 15 minutes to cut my hair and at the end of it asked me to check to see if I saw any more dead ends that she missed, which I thought was bizarre. I found a few dead pieces that she hadn’t noticed which she subsequently cut and then left. She didn’t show me the back of my hair and when I got home I realized that she had just cut straight across the bottom of my hair and took away all of the dimension that I’d previously had.

100/10 recommend the Virgo salon ! The woman who took care of me was Megan 💙 Answered AAAALL of my question and was very knowledgeable ! I can’t believe I finally found the best place for curly hair ! Beautiful salon, super relaxing and most importantly: AMAZING STAFF (with all types of curly hair) and they will know what to do with your curly hair ! Amazing products too ! Aaaand Most of them are vegan ! I was trying hard to not cry of happiness ! I even told her more than once that I was about to cry ! Cause I had not got a hair cut in years ! My hair was… it was close the end of the world hahahaha (I do use iRestore, scalp massager and sleep with a satin scarf).

A beautiful experience, from start to finish. Echoing what so many others have said; Mateo is an absolute artist, and a lovely person to boot. He made me feel so comfortable and as if I was truly being heard. He has an innate understanding of the emotional connection we have to our hair, especially us curly girls/guys/people!! I left feeling totally refreshed, with a cut I absolutely adore, and the assurance that I can get in touch if I need or want any advice, or even come back in for adjustments on my cut if necessary. I wholeheartedly recommend Virgo and Mateo ❤️

I’ve gotten my hair cut at Virgo three times now by two of their stylists, and each time I’ve been very happy! They’re great at working with my sometimes curly/sometimes wavy pattern, and know how to handle my texture. They always have great advice about what products and methods to use also. I definitely recommend coming here!

A spiritual journey of hair alchemy and nurturing relaxation. I had my hair cut by Alanna who is an experienced, easy-going, beautiful grounding soul that made me feel at home. Mateo washed and textured my hair to prep it for air dry. I have to tell you I have never experienced someone touching, washing and intuitively knowing what my hair needed like Mateo did. It was really beautiful to experience The Virgo hair salon. I I feel like I found the perfect salon for me. I highly recommend this gem, as it is a rare and luminous one.

I received a GinaCurl from Virgo Salon by the GinaCurl stylist, Mateo. My hair is a disaster and I am waiting for the bad perm and bad haircut to grow out. I got my GinaCurl back in March along with my daughter, and both of our heads look horrible. I am wearing hats and decorative wraps until my hair grows out. My daughters hair is slightly curly but straight in some areas and doesn't curl. I can blame it on the products because we are using the products that Gina recommends off of her website. My first GinaCurl done by Gina was 🥰perfection. This service is too costly to have your head jacked up for months. Please do your research well before you go to a stylist for a Ginacurl. I would hate for anyone to experience the pain both me and my daughter went through. Good luck.
