Virtuous Beauty Hair Studio caters to the healthy hair conscious client. We are experienced in all hair types and textures with a specialty in curly and coiled hair types. Our service offerings include options for both Natural and Relaxed clients. Our goal is to maintain the integrity of the hair and that goal may be achieved whether the hair is chemically treated or not.

Was referred to this salon by a friend. My mother and I were in the area so we stopped by to see if we could schedule an appointment. Immediately when I walked in I felt extremely uncomfortable by her demeanor and the way she was looking at us. Daphne explained that she is not taking new clients and is appointment only which I completely understand. But I feel that all people who walk into your business should feel comfortable and I did not.

A clean professional salon! The stylist cares about the health of your hair and she will educate you on your hair over time. I have been going to Daphne for 7 years and I have watched my hair change from unhealthy to healthy. Before going to Daphne, I was doing my hair and using store-bought box perms which caused damage to my hair badly. I was thankful that I found her and I have been going to her ever since. I highly recommend Daphne to anyone!

I made a mishap while booking a consultation. I left a comment on Daphne Stephens' instagram page b/c an explanation for the cancellation of my consultation was not sent to me via email. I needed to know why it was cancelled so I'd know how to handle setting up an appointment moving forward. She commented back and told me to call during business hours. So I did. She was pretty rude/unprofessional. I let her have it. I needed an explanation of what I did wrong so that moving forward I could correct said mistake. She gave it to me, then asked what did I need done. While explaining to her what I needed she informed me she was busy doing someones hair and couldn't talk to me, ok. So I let her know I wasn't initially calling for a consultation, I was calling b/c I was asked to call during business hours. She informed me not during MY business hours, but hers......I called at 2:32 PM...her business hours. **I work in an industry that is 24/7, I don't have "normal" working hours. which was why I requested a consultation on the phone. I also live over an hour away from her shop. I CALLED because I assumed that was the reason behind my appointment being cancelled and was willing to come up for a consultation if needed. Also I am SALARIED, walking out to take a phone call is NEVER an issue. The reason I mentioned stepping outside was to show that I wasn't calling to argue. I was at my place of employment.** I obviously can't get anything right according to Daphne. So yeah definitely would not even attempt to go here and I was traveling from out of town. Work on the customer service side of your business. Sending a brief explanation of why a service is cancelled can help a customer correct their issue without contacting you again outside of your web portal (since it's obviously the only way you'd prefer to communicate). EDIT: And still. Your response to my rating shows how unprofessional you are, Daphne. I started out by taking accountability for my part. I stated that I stepped out to call you, obviously I had some free time to call. I called to see why my appointment was cancelled and to see what needed to be done so that I could go about it the proper way. I was advised to call, which I did. I'm sorry if you're either used to people calling with attitudes or not able to conduct themselves properly, but there was no reason to take offense to a potential client calling to see what could be done. You asked for me to call, so I did. Simple. I was not calling to "confront" you. Once you explained to me what the issue was I understood and was willing to go back and correct until further listening to your condescending tone and deciding it would be in my best interest to find another stylist who could conduct proper business in a professional manner and tone.

The salon is very clean and well maintained, and Daphne always does an amazing job with styling my hair. It was my 1st time receiving Micro links, and I LOOOOOVE my hair. It is so lightweight, and looks natural. natural. It's no natural and beautiful that I've claimed it as my own, and you can't tell me otherwise🤣 I am able to style it like I would my natural hair and have done so many different looks in the 2 weeks I've had it. I highly recommend trying this service by Daphne if you're considering it!

After looking for a hair stylist for over a year I finally found my new hair stylist. Daphne did an excellent job on my hair. I needed a short cut and she did not disappoint. I showed her what I wanted and she had no problem executing the job. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable and gave me suggestions on how to care for my hair when doing it myself. I really enjoyed being at her salon. She made me feel comfortable enough to make my next appointment and get color in my hair. Job well done Daphne! A satisfied customer. :O)

I relocated to Tampa about a year and a half ago and have struggled with my hair the entire time. Since I didn't know anyone in the area and was working long hours, I relied on protective hair styles and did not take care of my hair. As a result, my hair was damaged. A friend referred me to Virtuous Beauty Hair Studio and I did a Virtual Consultation with Daphne. She was very professional, honest, and did not give room for me to have unrealistic expectations. Since she was booked, she asked Gerri if she had availability, which she did. The salon is very clean and they go above and beyond to ensure that everything is sanitized. They also wear face masks and face shields. Gerri is very professional, sweet, and welcoming. She is timely and I was her primary focus. She was not working on others while she was servicing me, and I really appreciate that. Although my hair is a severely damaged, she was honest with me, but also assured me that it will eventually get to a healthy place. She did a great job on my haircut and silk press. I was so excited that I found a place that I liked that I wanted to make my next appointment when I got in the car ... but remembered that she advised me to wait to see how my hair responds to the silk press. If you're looking for a professional, clean, and welcoming environment, Virtuous Beauty Hair Studio is the place for you.

Daphne Stephens is DISGUSTINGLY unprofessional. I'd gotten my hair done at this salon once prior but I had to cancel my most recent appointment at short notice due to a work emergency. I understandingly paid the $25 cancellation fee however, when I attempted to re-schedule online I received an error message. Upon calling, Daphne told me (with an attitude) that in I would have to pay in advance going forward because I'd made a same day cancellation and I'd cancelled more than once; and that typically, she does not accept clients after cancelling because they "don't respect her time". I explained that this had been my FIRST time cancelling and I'd attempted to call that Monday (my apt was for 4pm Tuesday) but didn't realize the salon was closed (since the phone just rings and rings - no answering machine). She then began to ARGUE with me! Talking over me and telling me I'd cancelled more than once & did not try to call the day before - see attached call log. When I told her arguing that with a customer is unprofessional she responded "everyone is entitled to their own option." Needless to say, I did not proceed with booking an appointment. I've never in my life come across such blatant unprofessionalism. Arguing with a paying customer is never okay! Especially when they are being 100% respectful. I would not recommend this salon to anyone & I highly suggest some customer service training for Ms. Stephens.

Daphne has been doing my hair for years. I’ve never been obsessed with my hair but I’m always pleased with the work. Gerri also does a fabulous job. It’s never a dull moment there either, great time and great atmosphere.

I gave the owner a few days to respond, she didn’t so hear I am. My experience was HORRIBLE. Either she (name begins with a G) does not know what she’s doing or she was rushing (I was her last client). She took before pictures but def did NOT want to take after pics I’m natural and was suppose to get a tapered look with color. I had to wait for almost an hour after my appt to be seen. She had to bleach my hair twice. As soon as she put the bleach in she rinsed it right out. I was thinking it didn’t take. She blamed it on the brown semi permanent color that’s been on my hair for almost a year. I thought bleaching your hair back to back like that was dangerous? She only had to bleach the top part of my hair and while re- bleaching it only bleached half of that. It was suppose to be a tapered look meaning the top cut would get more narrow as she reached towards the back(we discussed this). We discussed my nape was a little thinner than the rest of my hair and it would have to be blended, she didn’t do that as well. She cut half my head low (not tapered) and left a small patch on the top. She put like 4 big twist in the top of my head did not let it dry completely and my hair looked a mess (birds nest) leaving the salon. She did give me a discount but she knew her work was less than favorable (kitchen work). I didn’t care about a discount I want/ wanted my hair fixed. If google allows I will attach pictures. I have been going to this salon to see Daphne for YEARS! I found Daphne on Google about 9 years ago and I’ve never looked for another hairstylist. She’s been a blessing to my hair and my LIFE! I consider her the “Silk Press Queen” because she can slay a silk press! She also is open to trying my random hairstyles that i come up with. I always get so many compliments on my hair. It’s always a warm welcoming atmosphere. From the hair wash to that moment she shows you your hair in the mirror, I’ve never had a bad experience here. I’m really thankful for her! I’ve been going to Daphne at Virtuous Beauty for a little over two years now. My standards are admittedly quite high, and the health and maintenance of my hair is extremely important to me. The reason I continue to go to Daphne is because she always finds a way to exceed my expectations. She is the consummate professional. Not only does she take pride in her work as a hairstylist but she also takes pains to curate her business into an therapeutic and relaxing environment for her clients. From the decor, to her employees, down to the aromatherapy and calming soundtrack playing in the shampoo rooms. Best of all, she always has a word of encouragement and every time I walk out of the doors I look and feel like a million bucks! I truly cannot recommend Daphne and Virtuous Beauty highly enough.

Moving to a new city is especially difficult when you have to find all new service providers. I've been looking for a new stylist around Tampa and after finding her on IG, I decided to give Daphne a try. The salon is so clean and beautiful. She started my hair within 10 minutes of my arrival and got me out in a very reasonable time. Daphne was very pleasant and really professional. I love her salon rule of no extra people. It certainly adds to the level of professionalism and allows me to have a very calm and pleasant salon experience. I highly recommend that you give her a try!

Reunited and it feels SO GOOD!! Though I have been gone for a while, it felt like I was coming home and catching up with family when I walked through those doors yesterday! Oh how I have missed coming to my awesome hair stylist Daphne! I contacted Daphne about wanting to change up my hair on Thursday morning. I wanted a short cut with shaved sides and color or high lights added. As I said I have been gone for a while. I know my hair hasn’t been cared for as it should have been so I wanted her honest feedback to see if I could even pull off this style I wanted depending on the condition of my hair. She took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns and provided her suggestions and some work arounds of what we can do to achieve the look that I wanted. When I went to book my appointment the earliest date was the 27th. I came back with more questions and to see if she had any earlier slots. After speaking with her again, I was able to get an appointment for the next day. Friday is here and now I’m nervous when it’s time to get in the chair and I’m thinking about changing my mind about the cut and color. She gave me some encouraging words, after our lil chat, I decided to go through with it. I trust Daphne and know she’s a beast at what she does and won’t steer me wrong and honey she gave me LIIIFFEEEE. Walking out the salon like yasss honey! I LOVE EVERYTHING about my hair. Thank you for all that you do! I absolutely love you and Eureka. See you in a few weeks!!

This was a terrible first experience, I have natural hair and my silk press was done sloppy. It looked like a two year old did my hair...My white mom could do better.
