What I experienced today was awful that made me have to spit it out. I made an appointment with Alan (the stylist) on WeChat and through call to their reception desk, confirming about the time to be on Sunday at 4pm. After I spent an hour walking in freezing wind and arrived exactly at 4pm, the only thing I learned is that he had gone. He evidently got the time mixed up, but he showed no respect, no apologies, even when his coworker called him he still insisted his appointment is on Monday. I had to change to another stylist to have my hair cut. This is extremely disrespectful to customers, and I even doubt if it’s because I have been too polite and soft-spoken to let him think he could just blow me off causally. I have my WeChat snap that includes my chat with him about the appointment detail, and determines to not release it for now for the sake of his privacy, but I hope he could learn how to show at least a modicum of respect to his customers’ time.

Have been going here for several years, today is the last time I’ll ever go back. Rude lady washing hair, hair stylist couldn’t understand me when I asked for NO THINNING and he proceeded to thin out my hair which is already really thin. Cherry on the top is he smelled like cigarette smoke. Also prices keep going up every year. Not worth it.

Wonderful place, love the aesthetic. Came in unsure what hair style to get, showed some pictures and a lot of cutting later, perfectly what I needed. Everyone was very polite and the service was amazing. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a perfect haircut.

I’ve been coming here for over a year and have spent over $2000 for haircuts and hair coloring with Jay who is the best hairstylist they had. I went in for a hair cut last week and found out Jay does not work there anymore but it was just a simple hair cut. The guy absolutely ruined it. Some of the most unprofessional people and a shit show. Never coming back.

Al was great! Very experienced with East Asian hair in particular Chinese. He is from Hong Kong. It took me a long time to find a stylist / barber in Chicago who could do my hair well. Went through ~8 locations about. I’m glad I finally went here!

Had one of the best experiences here on Thursday. Stopped by with no appointment and they quickly got me in. They were able to get the color I’ve been wanting and nobody had been able to get it done for me. Until…Eric did his thing and did an amazing job. I was so pleased with Eric’s service. Despite being 3 hours away, I will definitely be returning again!!!! HIGHLY recommend!!!

Came here the other day, Allen was my stylist! He did an amazing job, and I left with exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be back! I've never had luck at previous salons until I came here.

I have been searching for a stylist for about a year now and I FINALLY found him. Alan is very kind and is a professional that knows his business! I can't tell you how much I love how he blended my hair and he cut makes my hair look thick and healthy. If you're looking for a stylist I suggest you go see Alan

I got a haircut and digital perm by Chris and it was absolutely perfect. I have gotten perms once every 2-3 years for a very long time (including multiple times in Korea) and I can honestly say this was the best one I've ever had. I don't normally write reviews for anything (this is actually my first Google review) but I really wanted to share how great my experience was here! Chris was very detail-oriented, kind and professional. He asked thoughtful questions about the style I wanted, including where I wanted the curls to start, how loose I wanted them (showing me the various perm rod sizes), and the length of my curtain bangs. He also took the time to explain each step of the perm process and how long to expect each part to take. Chris is very technically skilled! He did a fantastic job with my haircut, making my curtain bangs exactly as I wanted. The perm looks very natural and the curls are consistent throughout my hair. In my past experience, it’s always difficult to get a loose, beach wave perm even when I request for it, so I’m often left with tight curls and wait a few months before they loosen up and have the look that I want. But the perm I got done today was exactly the loose beach waves I wanted! Very happy with the results and can’t recommend Chris highly enough.

I went for a haircut and specifically asked for Al, (as recommended by a friend) and he was amazing!! He’s very skilled with scissors, made slight changes to my haircut to suit my needs, and pays attention to detail. It was my first time coming here and I love the results of my hair.

Called on a Sunday and made an appointment for 2 women hair cuts on Tuesday. Pay for parking and they tell us they can’t find our appointment and they will not cut our hair. Beware, very irresponsible for those who turn away work and money.

Went there for a cut a week ago. I had long and permed wolfcut and told the hair stylist to shave the sides and cut around an inch off the top and back. My man took a solid 3 inches off my top and back, cut away all my perm and DID NOT shave the side. What's worse he gave me a bow cut at the front. Like in what age is a bowcut fashionable? Safe to say won't be back ever again

I LOVE this salon. They are fairly priced and every stylist I've had is incredibly skilled. I show them a picture of what I want and they're able to recreate it exactly, and are very good about checking in to make sure that it looks how I want it. This time I had Chris and he was wonderful. He also was very good about being careful with my ear, which had a fresh piercing. I will be coming back here again and again.

I booked a regular men's haircut, the price listed online was 38$. My stylist didn't seem to understand me very well and I don't think the haircut I got looks very good - not horrible, but the Great Clips near me would probably have done a better job for 15$ less. After I was done they said that since my hair was kind of long they would charge an additional 2$. If you're going to charge me a different price than advertised, let me know before you start. Will not be returning.

I made reservation for perm half week ago and seems like this man with black glasses (Chris) at reception is the only guy available. I had the worst communication with him, he was rude, unprofessional. After I refused his service, I requested hair washing from another staff, who just ignored me. The worst experience ever, and I will never go there.

I got a perm and haircut from Jay! Love it, he did amazing and took his time which I appreciated a lot. I usually go to Jay for haircuts as well and they are always pretty nice, accommodating with no issues. Doesn’t do small talk which I prefer as well.

I’ve been wanting to get a pixie cut but was too scared to go cause once its short, i wont be able to go back; so i diligently did my research and found Al. He’s THE BEST! I’m so happy I found him. I showed him the cut i wanted and he did it. He also gave me tips on how to style my hair. I loved how my pixie turned out. I got so many compliments and now i’m not scared to go back short. He’s been there trimming my hair while it was growing out so it wouldn’t grow out wonky. I have been going to him ever since. Haircut, hair treatments, color all done by him and I’ve been getting compliments every time. He’s so good that i regret i didnt find him sooner. Go to Al you wont regret it! 100000/10

They charged me 20% more for tips while I’m not satisfied with their services. This is not decent. Otherwise, they should set a mandatory tip rate which also shouldn’t be 20%.

Had a great first experience but second time was not good. They are good at coloring but will not go back for a haircut unless it’s a trim. May depend on the stylist but haircut was rushed and customization to each individual preference and style was not considered. Haircut ended up being pretty choppy looking with unnecessary layers on a bob cut and he thinned by hair out when I asked not to.

in contrast to the other reviews, my experience here has been pretty good. i needed a haircut asap and they were accommodating in finding a time slot within 48hrs. hair wash was gentle and water wasn’t too hot/cold. i’ve been told my hair is really unruly and challenging due to the mix-wave/thickness, but the hair stylist was really chill and didn’t make me feel self conscious compared to other salons. they’re a solid salon - not super expensive, clean, no super frills. just come in, get your cut, pay, move on, and come back in a few months.

I was able to call in early the week and got an appointment for Friday after work. I showed up and only had to wait 5 mins which was good for a busy night. I got shampoo and conditioned. The hair stylist ( I forgot his name) listened to my wants clearly and explained every step. We even discussed ways to improve my hair condition since is thin but oily and there is a lot. The only reason it was 4 stars is because I explained that my hair was permed 6 months ago. He used no heat protection and straightened my hair out with blow drier. Though I do understand since my hair is naturally straight it is easier to cut straight versus curly/wavy permed hair.

came here a few months ago and got my haircut here. i read the reviews and i wished i had trusted the bad reviews before i came here. when i saw the positive reviews, i really thought i’d get the same outcome as those who were happy did. but no. when i showed the guy the hairstyle i wanted and how i wanted my hair to look, he did the complete opposite and made my hair shorter than i originally wanted it. i also wanted layers in my hair but i didn’t get that either. i walked out of the salon a bit confused and upset because, hello? it’s a salon and they’re supposed to do the haircut you want but when i showed the haircut i wanted, he simply said no and did his own thing. not cool and this was by far the worst experience i have ever had. i’m never coming back here because the service is so bad and they don’t listen to what you’d like and prefer. i told him that i didn’t want really want my hair to be THAT short and tried to find alternative ways so that my hair could still be longer but he went ahead and played around with my hair to his satisfaction. now when i look at the negative reviews this place has, i completely understand them and i hope anyone who plans on going takes it into consideration.

The end result of the hair was decent but really hesitant to go back because of the overall experience. The environment is pretty hectic and the stylist would do my hair and leave me hanging for a long time to go cut someone else’s hair and then come back. Of course there are nature wait times to dying hair but it would be 20 min wait turn into 40 or 10 min wait turn into 30 and you would just sit there and sit there and don’t know where your stylist is and unable to get up and find someone to help you. At one point I had to stand up and be like ok I really gotta go so we need to hurry this up. I was just dying my hair and was there for over 5 hours where the same process/type of style I would only need to be at other places for 3.5 hours ish.

The service is rushed and unfriendly. My stylist is a guy with black glasses (called philix I guess) and really need to improve his communication and patience. The lady who washed my hair scratched my forehead multiple times with her nails. Overall fair hair cut skills and bad service.

Zero!! I got my worst haircut in my life here!! and it’s been weeks my hair got worse and worse! Every day I wake up looking at the mirror I just wanna cry! Don’t go there! I know I can’t trust any salon in Chinatown but this one is definitely the worst! Never had I written any review or gave one star but I just so mad and sad!
