Dear Mr. Vago, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding an experience I had at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago spa. During my visit, I encountered two concerns that I feel warrant your attention. First, I had purchased two guest day passes as a gift and specifically informed the staff of this. Despite my instructions, the receipt with the amount for the guest passes was included, which diminished the intended thoughtfulness of the gift. Second, while I was at the spa, I was informed that it was closing. As I was drying my hair, a staff member, Patrick Birch, interrupted me and insisted that I leave. This interaction felt abrupt and unnecessary, as I was clearly preparing to exit. The manner in which this situation was handled left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Taken together, these incidents have left me deeply disappointed with my experience. I am also concerned that the interaction with Mr. Birch may have been influenced by bias, which is troubling and inconsistent with the high standards I associate with the Waldorf Astoria brand. I kindly request that you investigate this matter further and provide clarification regarding how such situations will be addressed moving forward. My hope is that future guests will not encounter similar issues and can enjoy an experience that reflects the exceptional reputation of your establishment. I’m a sucker for a spa day. I have gone to nearly every high end spa Chicago has to offer and The Waldorf continues to be my favorite. I’ve consistently had wonderful experiences. Today I had the most incredible massage by Alexis. She was such a gem and released so much tension in my upper body. Thanks Waldorf, I’ll be back!

I had a wonderful massage here! The facial wasn't great though, my esthetician was an extremely annoying salesperson. She aggressively tried to sell me multiple upgrades and products -- going on about them for several minutes and she seemed oblivious to my clear lack of interest. I had to say no more than once. It made for a less than relaxing experience, especially given how expensive this spa is. Parts of the spa are also worn and could use an update.

Five stars for the spa staff, I wanted to try a new BR mask after running out of my usuals and the bio magic mask that was recommended by the staff exceeded my expectations. Refreshing welcoming vibe all around with staff that’s super knowledgeable about skin care!

I booked a last minute facial and it was wonderful! The staff was extremely kind and Colleen did an amazing job on my facial. She was very knowledgeable explaining to me what she was doing and making recommendations. Wonderful experience all around!

Beautiful amenities and high-impact treatments. I did the diamond glow facial on Saturday and have not worn makeup all week because my skin is in the best condition it’s been in for years! Also— their chamomile chocolates are delicious. Well done, Waldorf!

A great spa all around. After flying overseas and back, I was desperate for something to work out the kinks and tension I felt. A signature massage did the trick and then some. Aside from the superb service itself, the entire staff was pleasant and professional from check-in to check-out. I appreciated the tour of the facilities beforehand, which were excellent. The lockers and dressing areas were spacious and clean. The small pool looked inviting, although I didn't get a chance to use it, and I enjoyed the infused water placed throughout. I also was grateful for the vanity amenities, like the hair brushes and hair ties - things that many other places fail to provide. I would gladly return.

Did a Chicago staycation and was originally planning on going to the Peninsula but their booking ended up being a disaster, so I changed my mind and called the Waldorf. It ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made. The spa was incredible and the staff was so friendly, it was the perfect relaxing day, and I had one of the best facials of my life.

I had the Myofascial Release Massage this morning with Emily. When I say this was the best massage I’ve ever had in my entire life, I am not kidding! I have always loved this spa, I have been coming here since it was the Eysian Spa. I’ve never had a bad experience. I went in with some extreme shoulder pain, and Emily knew exactly how to get every know out. I can’t wait to go back, and you should go as well!

Really love my French manicure by Sara. She did an amazing job and I love it! The team here is extremely professional and friendly. Also - My massage appointment in early May was absolutely amazing. The experience was 💯. I left that app feeling so refreshed!

The Spa at the Waldorf is a great facility and one of the nicer spas in Chicago. The massage was a deep tissue one and the therapist really did exactly that - which was awesome. Nice whirlpool and steam and sauna too altho the steam was a bit too hot for anyone there. But overall would highly recommend.

The Waldorf Astoria certainly knows how to treat their guests. The staff was helpful and so polite. We experienced a massage, the Eucalyptus steam room, jacuzzi and pool. The only reason the Waldorf did not earn five stars is due to the fact they did lose themselves a bit throughout what was said to be a “very busy day” resulting in some disorganization and some lack of over site to details that should not be overlooked in a spa of this caliber. The facility could also use a refresh in areas like the locker room.

The staff was very friendly and the massage was great, but the masseuse was coughing my entire massage and the steam room was broken. Wasn't the most relaxing experience, but I still felt great after. I think I just got unlucky with the day I went.

This is my favorite spa in Chicago as far as amenities, ambience, and service. I will say I’ve had phenomenal massages but I have had a few that weren’t the best. Of course massage is all relative as everyone’s preferences are different. I definitely am a forever customer.

This spa would be good if you are in town staying at the hotel, but I don’t feel like this is a destination spa. For the price, and compared to other luxury spas, these facilities really didn’t impress me. I prefer a place with a dim relaxing vibe, lower lighting, and a little more space. They have a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, waiting room and shower room. The sauna and steam room and really small, if there are two people in there you don’t want to go in. There is no real relaxation space, the waiting room for the appointments is maybe 6-7 long lounge chairs and they all face each other in a circle so it is kinda awkward and not that relaxing. It’s also where everyone just sits until they are called back, there’s no other place to sit and relax. I also upgraded to the BR facial, I had that product before and had amazing results. Unfortunately this facial wasn’t the same. It was fine, but no major results.

Wow!!! I usually would wait till the end of my stay to give a review but I am hours in …. and this is is a top notch experience .. solid 5 stars !! My wife and I are celebrating our anniversary and the property made us feel like royalty .. from the second we got out of our Uber everyone was sooo kind, courteous and professional … the rooms are luxurious (we have a fire place 🤯 !! ) and have stunning views of the city .. We got a couples Massage that was soo good we both slept off 🤣😂. Is it a bit expensive ? Yes. but worth every penny!!! .. treat yourself and a loved one to a Waldorf Chicago getaway . 1000% top recommendation!

had the most amazing massage and facial here—been to a lot of places around the city and this was hands down the best! the massage was relaxing and felt long she was super. the facial was also very well done. it’s expensive but it’s worth every penny!

Shortly after learning about an unpleasant experience that my wife and I had at the spa, the Director of Spa and Wellness contacted me on my phone. She and I had a productive and positive conversation. My wife and I both agree she went above and beyond to correct what happened. We were impressed with how she managed it, so we look forward to visiting the spa and hotel in the future.

The experience was lovely. The atmosphere, the warm bed, the music, the water and snack offerings were delightful. The hostesses in the welcoming room were so kind; the aromas beautiful; Colleen who did my tint was great. Unfortunately, after 24 hours after the treatment, my eyes are still burning, itching, watering. I cannot keep them open and exposed to light.
