I come for a silk press and cut. Patrick is so patient and careful with my hair, and he always makes sure I leave looking great. The cut is the most precise I’ve ever had. It takes a while but you can’t rush the process and I find the whole experience so relaxing and comfortable I don’t mind.

I honestly don't understand how their ratings are so high. I was quoted $125 to have my hair dyed. When I asked how much a trim cost I was told $175. I confirmed an appointment to get my hair dyed, but not a trim. Throughout the appointment the stylist tried to up sell me. Did I want a blowout? No. Do I want a trim? No? Do I want to have my hair styled? No. Then when it's time to pay I'm told the cost is $250. Double what I was quoted. They tell me they had to use a lot more product because I have so much hair, therefore the fee is more. Yet, they saw how much hair I have when I sat down in the chair - BEFORE dying my hair. At NO TIME did they say the price might be higher because they may have to use more product than anticipated. I refuse to pay double. I also think because I declined all their attempts to up sell me they just decided to double the $125 fee instead. Plus, the stylist was visibly exasperated when I declined her third attempt to up sell me. Beware.

06 28 22 - Patrick Wellington continues to be a very good hair technician, focused and deliberate. His attention is given to only the person in the chair. His demeanor is always professional. Additionally, he is punctual. Have been a customer for more than 5 years. Came today in need of a good deep trimming of my entire head of natural hair, my ends were disastrous. I don't go to the salon often, but when I do I head to Patrick's chair. I've been coming to this salon for the last 15 years, and I know I can always count on a solid deep condition and excellent cut from Patrick. I went this past Saturday, and I love this salon because they run in a timely manner. Patrick handled me from wash to cut. He takes his time to be gentle with the hair through detangling, blowing and flat ironing-- which I always appreciate. The prices are more than reasonable. It's been a week and my hair is still feeling strong and healthy. Highly recommend this salon. Well worth it!

I recently cut all of my hair off and have been coming here to get my hair cut and colored. I have tried a few colors so far and he has got it right each time! He does a great job with hair cuts with shears for natural hair. I will be returning!

I was in NYC for a week after a beach vacation and needed my hair done. I was referred here by a friend of the family ( she's local, a regular) and Patrick did not disappoint. He was professional, kind and gentle with my tangles. He was meticulous and pressed small sections of my thick hair until every strand was just right. His service left my hair looking beautiful and flowing with soft curls until my next wash. The salon is well appointed and I was treated nicely. If i could give a place 1000 stars I would, the cut that Patrick gave me allowed me to see my true beauty! He is a wizard at a pixie cut and will do you justice! I called their salon on a whim because I wanted something new. Not only did all staff make me feel comfortable and safe, it was clear that they all valued each other! My 18 year old daughter went in on a Tuesday afternoon for a blowout. The owner told her it was $225. I called for pricing and for a blowout and trim, and was told $175. I have no trouble with the price, but the disparity in price. I believe the owner saw a mark and took full advantage. Unfortunately I was in a meeting and could give her guidance.

Patrick stayed with me 3 hours after the salon was technically closed to care for my hair. He gave me a great trim, fixed my hair color, and gave me a really cute style too. My hair looks and feels so much healthier and the hair color? I can’t even begin to explain how pleasant of a surprise it was. It’s PERFECT. Trust rhe reviews because they’re right. You want to spend your money here.

He is an artist and cuts hair with such precision that from young to old and all groups of people have mentioned how great my cut looks. I met with Patrick who was already on site for my 2pm appointment. My hair was severely damaged so I went to him specifically for hair restoration. Patrick washed my hair and then proceeded to cut/clip the my hair. My hair is natural 4C. As ge cut my hair I attempted to show him some natural short hair styles but he just kept saying "their not really natural and actually relaxed for sake of the pictures. Even when I tried to show real time hair styles being done. He said he was cutting my hair in a "pattern". My hair looked so dull at 1B surprisingly I had to request my hair be dyed. He dyed it 1 black. Moreover I had to ask thst he shapeup the back. He commenced to do so but it appeared the clippers did not work and then he said well ur hair back shspe is a W. So it was not shaped. I then requested gel for my edges he took out what appeared to b hair lotion. I could see my hair was not looking good. He then patted my hair on the sides n that was it. The worst part is when I asked how much he hesitated so I went n put on my coat and I asked again. He had the audacity to say 175!! That's more then a nice set of knotless braids! Reluctantly I said 150 of course he didn't turn it down. I just paid dude rent! what a ripoff and check out the pics they speak for it self. Then he tells me I just need to embrace my natural hair..The very next day I had to pay again and get a weave I wish I would have done this initially! N my fault for not squaring up the price first but damn 175. N let me just say I really didn't mind the cost if my hairstyl was a hairstyle. This dude seemed like he just came out of retirement. He had n updated hairstyle techniques as stated. Not even the proper tools. N how could a hairstylist let u leave thir shop knowing their customer is disappointed especially this was my first time but he didn't care I was just a easy "comeup". If he couldn't style my hair he just have said so. N the only reason I went to him because he had all excellent reviews unfortunately that wasn't my experience

Just had my first appoint with Patrick. I loved it! He was very kind, professional, and provided great conversation with great service. All the staff was friendly and to top it off the salon was beautiful. Will definitely be back.

My experience here was mediocre. Unfortunately, after ten years I had to leave my old technician. This salon had attracted me years ago when I lived in the neighborhood. After speaking with Patrick on the phone, I texted him as requested to book an appointment. During our conversation, I explained that I had transitioned from box braids about 18 months ago and have been doing keratin treatments since then. As I was unsure if I needed a treatment, I requested that we do a wash/blowout/flatiron so we could get to know each other and assess the condition of my hair. Twice prior to my appointment, we confirmed pricing for that service as well as the fee for a keratin treatment in the future. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was shown to an area where I could hang my belongings. There was a young woman in that area and I introduced myself. She said, "You're here for keratin, right...?" When I explained that I was not getting that treatment, today and was in for a simple wash/blowout/flatiron, she responded with, "Oh, He made me come out for nothing..."(🤨... awkward) After an initial look, she washed and conditioned my hair. As she was drying it she determined that I needed a trim. I agreed with her because she is the professional and there is a certain amount of trust given to the person who takes care of your hair. It's an honour system which is not always reliable. After trimming and styling, my hair looked great and I was extremely grateful. When I asked how much, she said $175....!!! This is $50 more than what I agreed to. Now I feel awkward, again. However, went, I paid the $200, including tip. All in all, I was happy with the service, this technician was simply doing as instructed. But this culture that lacks transparency while relying on a system that requires honesty seems unfair. So.....Yes, you can get decent services here. Simply be prepared to pay at least $50 more than you are quoted. As well, don't expect to see Patrick. He was notably absent for my entire visit. As we all take a moment to remember the importance of honesty, transparency and working together, I did not find any of that here. This what is disappointing...😞

This salon is still the best. I absolutely love my new hair cut. Impressive skills. I came to Wellington Hair Spa with badly damaged hair. He and his staff were able to restore my natural hair to health: going from 1.5 inches to near my shoulders. Kudos to a job well done!
